Matt did an excellent job. We have an island in a home we just bought with some discolored spots which looked like burns. Matt determined what kind of stone we had and was able to clean and buff the stone so that the burns no longer showed. He also cleaned and resealed the rest of the granite countertops, and they looked really beautiful. This is the second time I've used Matt to work on stone tiles, and I've been very impressed with his work. I'm very happy to recommend him.

They did not sound super confident that they could fix what the issue was. They were perfectly professional and very helpful. I have nothing negative to say.

The wrong kind of cleaner was used on the beautiful marble in my master bathroom (housekeepers don't seem to know anything about it). It's large, maybe 400 sq. ft. It took two days to repair and refinish. Matt did a wonderful job repairing and refinishing plus he educated my household (including housekeepers) on what to use and what not to use to keep the floors, shower clean and shiny. He also provided cleaner for us to use. I am using him again on other surfaces outside!!

Cobex Construction Group
5.0
Excellent. My wife and I contracted with Cobex Construction Group to make improvements, upgrades and repairs to our home in the Ridgewiew Neighborhood El Dorado Hills. The house is a one of one design by the architect owner that we have owned for 4 years. My review will be in several parts because the projects will take time during the winter months. I can't say enough good things about their estimating and contracting process, workmanship and follow up on all aspects of the work. From the beginning, getting an initial estimate and many discussions about what would look best from design through construction was informative and excellent. Everything was covered, no guess work and full disclosure if there were issues spotted and how we wanted to proceed. The project consisted of updating the kitchen with new Quartzite surfaces and some appliances. The Quartzite is a natural stone from Brazil and the backslash is glass subway tile that we purchased from Bedrosians. We had the electrical switches and plugs updated with Legrand Adorna. A new Sharp drawer microwave, Bosch dishwasher and a GE Profile cook top hood. The microwave required cabinet modifications and the hood required cutting the stone surround to fit the vent which it was done perfectly. The cabinet modifications were completed with precision and even the touch up paint for the farm house cabinets matched perfectly. Our kitchen had solid granite counter tops that were installed when the house was new, 2001. The counter tops had seams in the granite that went through the sinks and were not level or really match up. The COBEX crew came in an put down heavy duty paper to protect our Hickory floors. They put up a sheet plastic wall around the kitchen to keep the dust from going into the dining area and family room. They removed all of the granite counter tops, the island and back splash behind the cook top. Afterward, everything was spotlessly vacuumed up and taken away. Next they put down new plywood counter top base and backer board for the tile back splash, nearly 70 SQ feet. They made all of their templates and off to the fabricator. The fabricator returned and removed more of the stone surround for the cook top and one wall cabinet. He had fabricated the counters all, without any seams. He and his crew worked tirelessly to fit these huge pieces in perfectly. FYI. The quartzite is a very hard natural stone and it took extra time to cut and shape. The tile setter did an amazing job with the glass subway tile and moving the electrical boxes to a high level on the wall. It sparkles and looks fantastic. We stood in the kitchen just admiring the stone and the craftsmanship. We had a party several weeks ago and everyone was impressed with the kitchen and their amazing craftsmanship. We had all of the rain gutters replaced as the old one were in poor shape. The COBEX construction group had the sub contractor measure everything and consulted me all along the way. After the gutters were installed, Alex from COBEX walked the entire perimeter with the gutter fabricator to insure everything was perfect. We also had the eaves inspected for dry rot, the COBEX crew came though, stripped back 2 rows of tile, removed the damaged areas and replaced everything very nicely. Alex walked the entire roof with the sub-contractor to follow up on all of the repairs and to insure everything was perfect. During the inspection of the eaves it was discovered that the two side garage doors were damaged and had dry rot in the frames. Alex offer options of repairing the casing or replacing the doors. I opted for the replacement doors and new frames. The COBEX crew worked quickly and the installation was perfect and they work better than the original doors. They cleaned everything perfectly and we would not know they had been there. They replaced some broken tile and I can say after the recent rain everything works perfectly. The next phase involves repairing and all of the exterior settling cracks and painting the two story home with a 3 color paint scheme. Installing a full sized French door in the family room that leads to the center patio from the family room. There will be curved steps to matching the existing decking. There will be replacement of a large picture window and 2 panel sliders that have lost their seal. The glass is low E and it comes in a variety of colors. Alex had the owner of the glass company come and determine the best color match. Alex did not leave anything to chance. Last will be the upgrade of the 2 HVAC units in a very tight a difficult area. I'll be writing as these next projects get completed. With the rainy weather it will take a little longer. Alex, Vaz and the COBEX team are fantastic and respond to every email or question we have had.

Tom suggested that I use large 24" tiles on my countertops in the master to save on cost! It turned out amazing and I only have 2 grout lines for a fraction of the cost that granite or any other countertop would have been. Tom also installed tile on the bath floor and found a coordinating baseboard tile to replace my small old baseboards. Tom did a quality job and always cleaned up after himself.

They did a really good job. At first, I wanted my countertop replaced but they went ahead and put a coating on top of it. It really made it look like marble. It was beautiful and they did an excellent job. I have not had any problems with the countertop or cabinets. Tim completed the work for me and he was excellent.

Very well. They actually finished a day early. The only glitch was needing a new electrical line for our cooktop. Was a bit costly to do, but I suppose this is not unusual for electrical work. And it was done promptly, so it did not delay completion of the job.

COUNTERTOP DESIGNS INC

Countertop Designs - customer service component of this company is so bad, I am surprised they are still in business.?? For Countertop Designs, after each interaction I thought, this experience just cannot get any worse but it did.? If you are wanting a company to install your countertops to stand behind their installed product material and work to address issues that may arise, do yourself a favor and run away from this company as quickly as you can.? They will absolutely not stand behind their product and correct issues with the installation.? This is my 2016 experience .? 1)??? Countertop Design workers scheduled to come to the house at 9:00 A.M.? to template/measure the counter area. They arrived between 11 AM and 12PM. The person showed us a post it note from the scheduling person that has 11:00 AM arrival at our house.? Apparently someone at Countertop Design changed the time they were to arrive but did not tell us. 2)??? Four days later they were scheduled to install the counters between 9-10 AM. No one arrived.? Called Countertop Design at 11AM.? The scheduled worker called us and said he would arrive by 2 PM.? By 3:00, no one arrived.? I called again and asked to speak to the owner. The owner said someone would be here by 3:30. The owner seemed to suggest the problem was mine for possibly insisting on a short timeline between measurement and countertop installation.? The owner said something like it's unusual to have such a short time between the workers taking measurements and the counter install.? I told her I took the dates the office employees gave me and did not ask for a specific date.? She did not continue with that line of excuses. I said it's Friday, the end of a long week, and the counters will take 3-4 hours to install.? That's a long day for the installers I said and I want my counters done by someone who is not very tired.? The owner said no problem, the installers are used to long days when they travel from Sacramento to work in the Bay Area.? Reluctantly I said ok.? By 4:30 no one arrived to install my counters. I called the owner and said it is not reasonable to expect me to have counters installed beginning at 5:00 PM or possibly later.? Reluctantly the owner said she would reschedule the workers for the next day.? The install took 5 hours.? If I had not insisted that they come another day, the installers would have been working in my house until at least 10:00PM on a Friday night. The installers were very efficient, and did a very nice job with the countertops and the sink cutout undermounting.? 3)??? Two weeks after the install, I noticed 1/4-1/2 inch light gray spots randomly over the white counters and backsplash.? The discoloration was not present initially . I stopped payment on the second 1/2 of the payment, wrote them an email with attached pictures showing the discoloration. ?One of their office employees came out to inspect the spots, used a cleaner to determine whether the discoloration was on the surface, and agreed the discoloration was below the surface and a flaw in the material. 4)??? Several days later the office employee who came to my house sent me a photo of a shelf made of the same material in the company office with the same discoloring in one area with the statement " I guess that is just the look of the material."? I said if that was the look of the material, should not the 2 samples that I was given have the spots so I knew the real look of the material when I selected it?? 5)??? A Countertop Design employee contacted the manufacturing company sales rep for the countertop material I purchased.? The sales rep contacted me and said they would replace the countertops and request 3-4 pictures of the discolorations. 6)??? I heard nothing from Countertop Designs for about 3 weeks, contacted the sales rep for the countertop material who stated that the material was delivered to Countertop Designs 7 days ago.? I received no contact from Countertop Design.? I emailed them asking to schedule the countertop reinstall.? No response for two days. I emailed again and did get a response.? The person said things were busy and would email with a date for the reinstall.? 7)??? The next day I received a proposed date for the reinstall with a few questions/ comments.? One comment/question was: "Do your countertop backsplashes have any of the discolorations? The reason I ask is because the 1 sheet of material the sales rep delivered is not large enough to remake the countertop and backsplashes. So we need to re-use the existing backsplashes." Apparently the sales rep sent 1 sheet of replacement material and rather than Countertop Designs asking for the amount needed to replace all the countertops, they are going to do part of the job and leave the discolored material in place for the back splashes .? Wow! I told Countertop Designs that was not acceptable but I should not even have to have the conversation with them about why leaving a discolored back splash is unacceptable.? The Countertop Design employee was in my house looking at the discoloration on the countertops.? The employee just did not request enough material to reinstall my countertops and wanted me to accept a partially discolored countertop. 8)??? When I made it clear that a partial replacement was insufficient, the Countertop Design employee said they wanted to send out their repair person to see if the discoloration could be buffed out. ?? That is the nice thing about solid surface material? said the Countertop Designs employee,? ? it can be buffed and polished.? The repair person arrived, and the discoloration could not be buffed out.? That was reported back to Countertop Designs by the employee. 9)??? That same day Countertop Designs employee called and began the conversation by saying ?did you get a special deal on the countertop material?? No I said, why do you ask? He said, I am just now looking at the paperwork and this job is really underbid. (this is the same person who came out to my house initially to look at the discoloration?..with the invoice for the job IN HIS HAND!!)? He then said I think I must have caught sales person XXX in doing something wrong in this bid.? We are going to have to make a business decision on this he said because this job is ?underwater?.? I said are you suggesting you are going to walk away from this sale and installation?? The Countertop Designs employee says well we are ?underwater?.? I said to him this was the price we were given.? The countertop material was defective, which is no one?s fault.? The manufacturer stepped up to replace the material.? Countertop Designs is the one not stepping up to do the right thing.? Is that what your Company stands for I asked?? The employee said I will talk to my boss and call back, 10) When he called back I said I am very disappointed with Countertop Designs.? You do not stand behind your sales and work, you are very willing to throw your sales people under the bus as an excuse for why you should not replace defective material.? I don?t want to continue this business relationship.? Just refund the ? of the total cost I paid and we will end this.? Countertop Designs would not do that- as their sales person wrote ? that is not how the world works?. I was getting a lecture about the world from an age 20 or early 30 ish something person!!? WOW!! We will rip out the countertop and refund your money or we can both walk away at this point. ? 11) Already their delay in replacing the countertops was getting to the point that I might not be able to keep the dates the plumber and tile person has reserved for the laundry room remodel---more and more delays.? In addition I purchased a new sink and was concerned about damage that might occur to the sink should they remove the countertop.? Certainly Countertop Designs would not pay for a new sink.? After consulting my attorney, we decided to leave the counters in place for now.? I told Countertop Designs to sign a letter of agreement that the ? amount paid would be the final price and send a paid in full invoice..? They have done that quickly to get rid of this issue I believe 12) The Countertop Designs installers did a very nice job; the company management is the worse I?ve ever encountered through a house construction and remodel in which we did business with many companies.? I understand Countertop Designs subcontracts countertop installation for Sears.? It is likely that this job was an annoyance for them and they did not want to deal with making my countertops install right even tho the manufacturer of the product did.? On YELP and Angie?s list, Countertop Designs gets mostly good reviews.? I can see how that would be.? It appears that those were reviews for installs with no issues.? However the critical reviews given to Countertop Designs are for instances in which there WAS an issue.? As one such reviewer stated ?they basically told me to go pound sand?? And that was my experience.? If there is an issue, and expect this company to stand behind your thousands of dollars job, you should not use this company.? Go to another installation company because unexpected things do happen.? Mine was nobody?s direct fault.? Manufacturing issues happen.? Addressing those is part of what a worthwhile business does.? Countertop Designs did not keep their end of the business transaction!

Recent Review: Michael is knowledgeable, experienced, personable, and runs a “tight ship”, and puts customer satisfaction first! He gifted me the free sterling silver sink! Monica and Ray are also very professional and personable and a pleasure to speak with. Ray helped me pick out the perfect garbage disposal from Home Depot, saving me much time having to look at/review/compare. This is a great team of super nice people and Michael is a great leader!! Well done! Only complaint was amount of time I was without running water/sink. I wish I had known ahead of time so I would’ve stocked up. Lastly, several unfortunate “glitches” with handyman/plywood/sink/garbage disposal installer (independent contractor). Michael took charge and handled promptly for me. Many thanks to Michael and Monica for assisting me with these matters. Note: grates/to set dishes on to dry not included with sink. Must purchased separately. Overall, service, price, and peace of mind makes this tile company the BEST in Sacramento and surrounding areas! 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Recent Review: Spectrum One is our choice over and over again for renovating our home, which was built in the 1960s. Dennis comes out and looks at the scope of the project and gets back to you in a timely manner with an incredibly detailed and professional proposal. He takes into account your vision for the home and offers suggestions for improving the project or explains how the team can make that vision come to life. The project managers who oversee the project from start to finish have been diligent, respectful and ensure that the work being done is of the highest standards. They are on-site every day with a whole team working to get the job done as beautifully and as quickly as possible. The attention to detail from the whole group is what I most appreciate. We have used them for whole-home flooring (removal, installation and baseboards), recessed lighting, countertops, backsplash and would trust them with any project. We recently completed a third project with Spectrum One that included widening doorways, redoing an outdated fireplace hearth, and remodeling two bathrooms. Everyone at Spectrum One is quick to respond, honest, creative, and fun to be around. We love them and highly recommend to anyone looking to do a renovation, repair, or build!

Recent Review: Terri was responsive and friendly throughout the project. She was busy with many projects, but worked with us on an installation date about three weeks after we talked. I didn't have a tight schedule so this was fine. Her workers showed up on time on the day I expected them. Terri showed them the project and made sure they understood any potential problems before leaving for another job. The workers were pleasant and professional. When a couple of unexpected problems arose, Terri was available to her crew by phone and in person for help. The project took longer than the one day I expected, but I was more interested in having it done right than having it done too quickly. I'm happy with the results of the project and would use She Can 2 for other jobs.
