Aspen Home Improvement was great! The salesperson was very informative and helpful in explaining the process and our options, without wasting our time. He was personable and professional. The installers were wonderful, showing up on time, cleaning up at the end of the day, very pleasant to work with, and respectful of our needs. The siding they installed looks great and I can't see any seams. I would definitely recommend this company

Very well. We were informed on a regular basis when the work would start and when the supplies dumpster and other items would arrive. Once everything arrived, the Lonestar staff began the process of removing the old siding and replacing it with the new siding. Partly through the process, the new storm doors were installed. All of this took about 10 days. The staff were very attentive to detail and really took pride in their work. Finally, the new gutters were installed. All in all, a job well done

MIGUEL TORRES CONTRACTING CO.
5.0
Miguel and his crew were a delight to work with. He kept us informed all the way through the process. He was the lowest priced quote we received, so were just a little nervous about going with his company. However seeing how highly rated he was on Angie?s list gave me comfort to go with him. And now that the work is complete, I am happy we did! His crew was there ready to go at 8am on the day he said they would start. I think they actually got there earlier, but out of courtesy did not get out to start work until right at 8am. I was very impressed with Miguel and his crew; they worked very hard the entire time they were here. I think the only break they took all day was to eat a quick lunch! They were extremely courteous, and always looked to make sure I was comfortable with everything along the way. The end result looked fabulous! I am very impressed, and all my neighbors are envious! I would and have highly recommended Miguel and his company to any and all of my neighbors

Mike and his guys did a good job on the trim and I was very satisfied with the job. I asked him to remove the shutters so I could paint them. Mike indicated I could call him to re-install the shutters. Initially we missed a phone connection. Once I contacted Mike, he was responsive and re-installed the shutters. Professional Home Services completed the trim installation and shutters in a good manner. I am pleased with this company

Lonestar Siding & Windows

I had a great experience with Lonestar. The sales person came out in December, showed me the catalog, took measurements and offered prices. Between their reviews on Angie's List and their very reasonable pricing, I selected the company to install the door. Lonestar was a little backed up, between the holidays and probably the snow, but they came out and installed the door last week. It took about twice as long as they expected, but the installers were such perfectionists, the door is perfect. My house was built in 1950, so I feel certain it was a challenge! But I really had no idea how poorly fitted and drafty the old door was! The instant silence (I live right on Patterson Avenue) was amazing. I had a problem with my lock, which I purchased but Lonestar installed, and I emailed the VP of the company to tell him about the problem. He had contacted me a couple of days after the door was installed to see if I was happy with their service. So, when I let Greg know about the lock issue by email on Monday evening, he contacted me Tuesday morning and was out here Tuesday afternoon, and he fixed the issue! I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Lonestar, and I will be using them again when I replace the other doors in the house

Professional Home Services
5.0
After multiple estimates, we decided to select Professional Home Services for our siding project. Leading up to our decision, we had no less than 8 contractors come out to estimate our siding project. I really enjoyed Professional Home Services? unscripted, honest, straightforward approach to the estimation process. We had a long list of questions that were all answered without a single ?we?ll check on that? or ?we?ll get back to you on that? statement. Our house was measured, calculations were made, and our quotation was handed to us in writing and signed within the hour. After I received the quotation I spent another 45 minutes with Rae going over details and specifying desired materials and techniques. A number of the a la carte line items on other quotes such as removal of exterior crown molding and installation of flat fascia boards, and Invisivent soffit were included in their initial quotation. Appealing to all, the price was among the best of the group. After signing our contract we were pleased to find that Professional Home Services (PHS) was able to work with our condensed timeline and begin the process within two weeks. During that time Mike Gunderson was in contact with us on a regular basis giving us updates on the ordering process and the delivery schedule. Work began on the date agreed upon, in fact Mike was here the day before reviewing the property and planning the delivery. The siding installation was as smooth as could one could wish. The contractors were courteous, prompt, and extremely attentive. Throughout the process I had many questions that were answered to my satisfaction. Any questions or that I had or changes that I requested were addressed immediately. At no time was I told that what I wanted would cost more or that what I wanted was not possible. The jobsite was always kept clean and organized. At regular intervals the site was scanned for nails and metal shards. We could not be happier with the finished product. The house looks amazing. After completion Mike came by no less than three times to walk the property and review the work. Caulk was touched up where needed and any little nits were corrected or fixed. During the entire process Mike was accessible by phone or email. If I had any questions or comments, I could email or call Mike and I was always able to reach him easily. The attention to detail and customers that PHS provides is second to none. I would not hesitate to recommend PHS to my neighbor, friend or family member. Thank you PHS team. Jon Hartle

MITCHELL SIDING INC

Contacted Mitchell Siding and spoke to Dan to get an estimate on gutter guards after my parents recommended them after they did their house. I told him I had approximately 150 linear feet of gutter and he said it would be right around $1000. The price seemed a little high but after doing research about this type of gutter guard along with the recommendation from my parents, I went forward with the installation. After I told him I wanted it done, he was able to come 2 days later. I was not home for the installation but my wife said they came and were there for about 30 min - 1 hour for the installation. The actual price came to $960. I have been very pleased with the installation and product. My house is completely surrounded by woods and I used to be up on a ladder constantly cleaning them after heavy rains. Not anymore

Jacob's Ladder Siding Roofing Windows Painting
5.0
The work went very well from start to finish. We received bids from five premier Richmond, VA area siding companies, each with top ratings from Angie's List, and chose Jacobs Ladder because both their detailed bid and their project manager (Justin Pittman) best addressed the specific requirements of our work. Their knowledge of carpentry was impressive and their proposed scope of work was superior to some of the approaches suggested by some of the other bidders in certain important respects. I spent considerable time researching vinyl siding, weather-resistive barriers (WRB's), and best window-flashing practices for residing jobs, etc before selecting vinyl siding and Jacobs Ladder, and so I think I am likely better informed (and pickier) than the average siding customer as to the vital importance of skilled and best installation practices. Justin is very experienced and was able to work well with me and answered all questions or concerns promptly throughout the job. Their crew chief, Victor, was also a very experienced siding and window installer, also with considerable carpentry experience, and was also very responsive to any questions or concerns throughout the job. For example, they took the initiative to contact a Tyvek installation specialist to ensure proper installation of the Tyvek weather-resistive barrier according to current Tyvek air-barrier installation guidelines, and proper integration of the butyl-based window flashing with the WRB prior to beginning the work. After I also talked with the Tyvek specialist, Jacobs Ladder and I agreed on an appropriate Tyvek-recommended method of installing the Tyvek WRB and window flashing for my particular application, and Justin asked that I monitor and approve their flashing around the first window and the first side of the house before they proceeded with the rest of the installation, to ensure my satisfaction. The quality of the WRB itself, the quality of its installation, and the quality of its integration with the butyl-based window flashing are, in my opinion, the three most important aspects of a proper, weather-resistive vinyl siding installation, and I was very happy with how Jacob's Ladder did this work. The Jacobs Ladder crew as also very experienced and industrious, and never had any down-time on the job. As I monitored their work, I would address any questions to Victor, and any questions or concerns were always promptly discussed and addressed in a professional and courteous manner. I was very happy with the quality of work done by each crew member, and each was courteous, positive in attitude and professional throughout the entire job. Because I chose to have all the existing Masonite siding torn off prior to installation of the WRB and siding, we had the benefit of being able to check the condition of the underlying sheathing, to ensure no rot, prior to installing the WRB and new siding. We had no rotting sheathing, but we did discover a rotting framing member beneath the top section of our front arched window, so I elected to replace the entire window with a 'new-construction' window. As the window had to be special-ordered, this aspect of the work was delayed slightly until the window arrived, but it was promptly installed once it arrived. We also elected to replace our existing dining room bay window with a new 'replacement window' to eliminate minor but annoying gaps due to normal settling, but we did not replace any of our other double-hung wooden casement windows as they were all still in good shape. On those windows, we simply ensured that new, butyl-based window flashing was installed and properly integrated with the WRB, to best ensure continued, leak-free service for years to come, and this work was done very professionally. As examples of the professionalism of their work, as I had a continuous ridge vent installed during a recently preceding roof replacement, Jacobs Ladder rightly recommended that the existing louver-vents in my attic be boarded over during their siding installation, to prevent interference of the old louver-based attic ventilation with the new ventilation provided by the ridge vent. This approach is a generally-recommended best-practice in attic ventilation that utilizes a ridge vent, and so I was pleased that they recommended and implemented that approach. In addition, when wrapping the window sills, they neatly under-cut the window jamb-liners so they could install the aluminum trim coil under the jamb liners and all the way up to the intersection of the window sill and stool to ensure the most complete and water-tight sill wrapping, an approach that is also considered a best-practice, but not done by all installers. In addition, rather than drilling periodic holes through my existing soffit to ensure adequate soffit venting to work with my recently-installed ridge vent as some bidders had suggested, they completely removed my existing pressed-board soffit and vent prior to installing new, continuous Invisivent vinyl soffits, thus ensuring the maximum soffit ventilation to work in conjunction with my ridge vent. Overall, their use of best-practices in installing the siding, soffits, window trim and other aspects of the work set them apart from some of the other bidders, and resulted in a superior end product and installation. At the end of the job, they suggested I take a couple of days to inspect the finished work and get back with them with any questions or changes. I did a thorough inspection, and gave them a punch-list/list of touch-ups/questions, and after discussing each of them, they immediately made all agreed-upon modifications or touch-ups, which again ensured a superior installation that I am well-satisfied with. In summary, I believe Jacobs Ladder demonstrated a superior understanding of and regard for the particular needs of my siding and window installation work during the bidding process, gave me a very experienced Project Manager (Justin Pittman) and Crew Chief (Victor), used experienced, conscientious and well-supervised crew, and installed my siding, weather-resistive barrier (Tyvek), butyl-based window flashing, aluminum window trim, soffit vents, new-construction and replacement windows and porch railing using best practices, and didn't leave until all agreed-upon punch-list/touch-up items were completed to my satisfaction. I am particularly happy with the quality of the project-management services provided by Justin and the installation provided by Victor, and believe they are as experienced and as conscientious a team as you will find in the Richmond area. As the products and installation prove themselves in the next few years, I may provide updates to this report

The crew was responsive and considerate of my schedule. Windows were installed first and the men were very professional cleaned up after each stage of the job. Siding is amazing and the attention to detail was meticulous. Gutters with caps last and again the workmanship was perfect. Jacob's Ladder Siding Roofing Windows Painting

Was installed in April 2015, but one year later am noticing installation issues with both. Have had difficultly getting the company to come take care of the buckling of the siding. When a professional finally came to try to repair, I was told that the siding on my porch was improperly installed. I have been told by Justin that it is heat and cold's fault. I have more nails in my porch beams and still plenty of buckling. I have been told they have done all they can do!!! I have done quite a bit of research, and numerous contractors have said in 99% of the cases of buckling, it is caused by improper installation. I rest my case. I am so disappointed. There are other problems, that I won't even address. I won't recommend them
Great experience from start to finish. Reasonable price. Good communication before and after. Showed up on time and performed work quickly and professionally.
Excellent. I noticed my gutters were clogged about a month before I typically get them cleaned and MITG was able to squeeze me in the next week since I had a big issue. Thank you so much. Really appreciated, will definitely use again.
Highly recommend Chris Dobbin from Homefix Custom Remodeling (HCR) if considering home renovations. After six months of research, and receiving several quotes for improvement in the Alexandria, VA area, I confidently selected Chris and HCR because of Chris’ customer service, HCR’s Better Business Bureau’s rating of A+, and the products available. Additionally, the installation teams were outstanding, which involved one installation team for widows and a patio door and a different installation team for siding. The installation teams left the installation areas clean as well as thoroughly explained the new products and ensured there were no questions. Although there was one small glitch involving a window insert/sash, the entire operations team and Chris Dobbin immediately sought resolution on the items in an extraordinarily attentive way. In fact, I plan to contact Chris Dobbin and HCR with more home improvements in 2019
From the estimate made by Jule West to the installation, the process went very well. The attention to detail and professionalism was top notch. I was not hounded to make a quick decision and the estimate was a work-in-process as I wasn't sure what I wanted. Jule came up with the best idea for installing the sliding glass door so that we didn't have to move any electrical (which made their bid much lower than the competition). Their lifetime guarantee is really worth the extra price that is paid--especially with 4 kids like us who may send an occasional baseball through the window! I highly recommend this company
Window Depot was fantastic. The crew was very knowledgeable and professional and did a great job with our new windows and new front door. We are very happy with their work and highly recommend them. Thank you!
After doing an excellent job installing a gutter protection system on our new house in Henrico, Billy Kain of A-Plus Roofing asked if we would be interested in siding. We said, not on this house, but we were preparing the house we just moved out of for sale and would like if he would give us a bid. He came back with a bid that was reasonable; a product that has a lifetime guarantee, and pointed out the superior construction techniques he uses when putting up siding. He attaches wood strips to the side of the house with both nails and glue - this stuff is never coming off the house. He also adds a layer of foam to smooth any ripples in the side of the house so that the siding looks perfect. The product he uses comes in extra long 16-foot lengths so the number of "starts and stops" in a siding run is minimized. Sure, we could have gotten the job a bit cheaper, but it wouldn't have been the quality product or the quality job we received from A-Plus Roofing. In the case of our job, he discovered that the installer of our after-market windows had left gaps that rain water could get in to. He sealed and capped those gaps at no extra charge. I was very impressed that he did not use the extra work to jack up the price. We visited the house several times while the job was going on. He brought in a crew of about 3-4 workers who were all extremely polite. They even invited me to clime one of the ladders to take a look at how they were sealing the windows. Please take a look at the before and after photos of the house. It looks new. We couldn't be more delighted with the experience we had with Billy Kain and his company A-Plus Roofing. We plan on using him again next year to cap the woodwork on our new Henrico house
Aapco's crew did a very good and quick installation of our roof. Cleanup was thorough. I appreciate Aapco doing a follow up on-site inspection to make sure we are satisfied. My expectations were met and I recommend them.
McNeil Contracting LLC headed up by Tyler McNeil stripped and replaced a roof on a rental property for us in September 2018. The end result looked great. The tenants were very complimentary about the quality and the professionalism of the crew. They completed the job in a very timely manner, cleaned up the yard, and left a professional end result. Mr. McNeil was extremely responsive on getting a bid to us, scheduling the job and providing high quality work. We will be using his business as needs arise in the future. Thank you for your excellent service and professional work. I will definitely call on you as other needs come up. Regards, Mar
