When you buy from GE, you can trust they sell you good products typically. We have found the repair services to be quite good. They guy who came to our home showed up on time. He was respectful. He did not rush through the job. He did solve the problem. We were rather pleased.

LITTLE APPLIANCE

Oven baking element flamed out. Little Appliance repairman was very quick and responsive, coming out within 24 hours (2 days before Christmas). He was punctual, neat, professional, efficient, and courteous; he quickly found the source of the problem (a short in the junction box wiring behind the oven, not the oven itself), and told me how to get an electrician to deal with it. Apologized for not being able to fix it himself, as it did not involve the appliance and he was not an electrician. Very honest

I called, I got fast service, even the lady who answers the phone was helpful, serviceman arrived on time and repaired my microwave and oven door in a pretty short time. I was very happy because I expected to have to purchase a new microwave oven door and a new oven door but he was able to fix it so I saved a lot of money

LITTLE APPLIANCE

Little Appliance is incredibly efficient, friendly, and above all, supportive. We needed to replace our microwave and electric oven. Yet we have a gas cooktop – an old one with a gas line and regulator that needed to be moved. The old gas line blocked where the new oven should be. Even though it took appointments from a few plumbers and inspectors, and then, a few friendly, helpful visits from Little Appliance, they installed it! The oven and microwave look great and work faultlessly. We thank Matt, Mark, and the crew at Little Appliance

They called back to set an appointment promptly and then were right on time when they came. He told me it it needed a new igniter, told me price and labor cost for the part, then installed it. He then found the oven still would not heat. The gas valve was shot. He informed me the price and labor of that and we agreed that it was not cost effective to proceed. He then took out the new igniter he had installed and replaced the old, broken one. He charged me only for the base service call, nothing for labor! He was professional and courteous at all times. I would definitely call them again and have told all of my friends of this experience. Though I didn't anticipate having to buy a new stove, I am happy with the outcome of the call, due to his honest evaluation and advice

I called for a technical and was told someone would call within 2 hours. I received a call in 15 min. Chris actually came early the first time, after he called to see if it was ok. He is one of the most polite technicians I have come in contact with. Explained everything he was doing very thoroughly. Ordered a part for frig on Friday and came back Monday to install. Would definitely recommend and use again if necessary

BROUGHTON APPLIANCE SERVICES

I called and was given an appointment two days later, with the exact time to be given the morning of the service. When I set up the appointment I gave them the model number of microwave oven, and when I called for the arrival time of the tech they went through the trouble of looking up the price of the motor (the most likely culprit) to avoid any surprises. They also warned me that if it wasn't the motor it may be the circuit board, and that that repair would not be worth doing. Mr. Broughton came out and performed the service himself - he was professional, personable, knowledgeable, and got the job done in about 20 min (having of course brought the right part). I would definitely use them again, especially because I have environmental concerns with all the electronics trash our society produces -- we only think it's cheaper to go out and buy a new gadget because we don't pay money for the long term impact of the trash

He arrived on time and had all necessary supplies and parts with him. Worked efficiently, explained all aspects of what was dysfunctional and how the control board was damaged when the broiler element went out. He cleaned-up the packaging of the new parts and installation was completed in a reasonable time. Very pleasant manor and exhibited technical skill in addressing the issues of the oven, with which he appeared to be very familiar

R J Tilley Plumbing & Heating Inc
5.0
The folks at R. J. Tilley were extremely professional, were definitely committed to doing what we wanted and making us happy with our kitchen remodel. Everything was high quality. They were not inexpensive, but as they say in their TV commercials, "you get what you pay for." What we got from them was a high-quality, well-functioning, beautiful kitchen. We had several other contractors in to bid on the job, and none of the others were able to do everything we wanted. Specifically, I wanted the terra cotta tile flooring removed and replaced with hardwood floors level with the hardwood in the adjoining rooms (no jambs between rooms -- just one flat, even floor). That, of course, meant lowering not only the floor, but also the door jambs and molding. Tilley managed to get it done so that it looks like it has always been that way. We also had a wall of brick in which the wall ovens were installed. The brick had been painted, and I wanted the paint removed, leaving a "whitewashed" look. Also, the new ovens that we purchased were not the same height as the old ones, so new brick had to be installed -- and the color matched. Tilley brought in Chasen painters and a brick mason to do the work, and the result was perfect. I wanted the soffit removed and two layers of cabinets reaching to the ceiling. That was done and the cabinets are beautiful. Lisa at R. J. Tilley helped us with the design and even walked with us through the stone yard to find the perfect piece of granite for our countertops. All in all, we are extremely pleased with the folks at R. J. Tilley and would definitely use them again for a kitchen or bathroom redo

Dense smoke filled my oven whenever I attempted to use either the Convection or Broil setting. After reading the many glowing comments from Home Appliance customers, I phoned for an appointment. Chris, an amazingly competent technician, was here the next weekday and make some adjustments to the oven fan which rectified the problem. I gladly give Home Appliance a hardy recommendation. Special kudos to Chris who is an outstanding professional, cordial, and capable technician

This is a follow-up to my review 6/6/2015. There is much more to add as the whole ordeal lasted 6 weeks and 3 days! The manager who is also the owner of the repair company would never return our calls and speak to me or my husband about his technician breaking my cooktop when he came to repair the oven. This owner lied to manufacturer and the Better Business Bureau-I have the letter- stating that my cooktop was cracked when his tecnician arrived at my house. This was a flat out lie. I have the proof. Problem was we could not make contact with this owner to let him know what had occurred during the appointment. Because the manufacturer chose to believe the repair company's claim instead of my side of the story, despite my immediately calling and reporting the technician and the incident, the manufacturer voided my warranty leaving me with a 6 month old, $2000, completely non-functioning range. I had no choice, but to seek legal assistance. The lawyer chose to contact the manufacturer vs Virginia Elec, saying the repair company was an agent of the manufacturer-that is who was used for their warranty repairs. Outcome was that the manufacturer agreed to repair my range at no cost. Worst part is they sent Virginia Elec again despite our objections. Owner sent his son out. Very professional & competent. Took 3 visits to complete job. He apologized about the incident, stated the technician was "reprimanded." That's funny because supposedly he "never touched" my range, according to the owner. Lawyer cost me $325.00. One last note-the owner called my house to schedule the final repair. There was no apology or any mention of what we had gone through. I took the opportunity to say I had been waiting since May 29th for a call from him. He stated that he returned our calls and that neither me nor my husband answered our phones. We have caller id and an answering machine, nor did I leave this house on the Fri of the incident or the following Monday. I argued-could not help it-he then laughed, said, "whatever mam" and hung up on me. THIS IS the OWNER of the repair company,Tim Cundiff. Very dissapointing that a business can come into my home for a repair, damage my property, lie about it, and get away with it. And he keeps his good rating with the BBB because he responded to my complaint to them. The response did not have to be truthful

Sears Home Service

Sears Home Service is a dealership and they have a representative who is local. What I like about Sears is that they are professional, their promptness, they are here when they say they are going to be here. They are very friendly and customer oriented. What I don't like about them is that often times, they do not have the parts and they have to have a return service so the service takes longer than it should take

Technician cracks the cook top while moving the slide-in range in order to do the oven repair. He says nothing. Pushes the range partially back into place and takes pictures of the cracked cook top. Without ever mentioning the crack he then asks me to sign a waiver saying he cannot be responsible for what the crack will do when he gets into the unit. After asking him "what crack", he tells me it was cracked when he arrived. On two occasions we were both in the kitchen looking at the range. One of those times the range was pulled out from the counter enough for us to look behind it at the floor to see the power connection. The cook top was not cracked at either of these times. As this was a warranty call I immediately notified the manufacturer about this so there would be a record to follow up with and to let them know how this repair co. was behaving. Here's where the real problems start. After the technician leaves I hear nothing from the repair co. about the incident. I had to call them. Repeated calls were left to have the manager call me. This all took place on a Fri. On Monday I call the repair co. to find out what is happening and to ask again that the manager call me. They are waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. I never hear anything back from them. On following up with the manufacturer that same day I am told the claim and pictures sent in by the repair co. show "physical damage" to my range and since the technician never touched the unit my warranty has been voided. When was anyone going to call and let me know this? We are now 1 week and 1 day from this incident with no resolution. One brief phone call occurred between my husband and the manager with nothing resolved. The manager acted like he didn't know what was going on. He was supposed to have gotten back in touch with my husband later that same day after talking to the technician , but did not. A week later and he is now going to talk with the technician???? Worst service call ever, worst customer service-actually there is none! This whole incident could have have been resolved very easily if there had been a proper response when this occurred. Breaking the cook top is not the problem here, it's the behaviors and actions after
Thye were prompt and efficient in their service. I had previously discussed a replacement oven with Lowe's but Lowe's would not guarantee a fit and advised contracting carpentry service to ensure fit. The Appliance Place guaranteed a fit and made everything simple.
I am not sure if they had contracted someone else or not, but this is who I called. When he came out, it was very hard to get the old clock out. He did fix it though. You can now tell what time it is and you can clean the oven. The only thing you cannot do is turn the clock to be a timer. They were very knowledgeable and all the parts they needed were right in his truck. It is a wall oven so that is what made it so difficult

Great service! Came in ahead of schedule and cost less for two jobs than we expected to pay for one. He made 2 visits to the house to get this done. I cannot say enough for this service. Very pleasant person and very efficient. Highly recommended!

They took a really long time. We had to try different contractors, to make sure my appliances were really dead, but they replaced them. One vendor said they were dead, and they sent other vendor's out to check also. I only had to pay for them to come and look at it. Which was $70. They do react pretty quickly. This give you a choice of contractors to contact
I have had Cliff Broach in a number of times to work on problems with our older washer or dryer. He has always done a good job. The prior week to this repair I had Cliff in to repair our washing machine which not draining. It was an easy fix (for him): replace the switch that stops the machine from spinning when you raise the lid and he had the needed part on the truck. At the same time I asked him to check the oven for which only half the broiler coil was working and the refrigerator for which the water dispenser wasn't working. He checked the units, took the model numbers and promised to call me in a couple days with an estimate. The estimate was $350. I gave him the go ahead to order the parts. A few days later he had the parts and we arranged a time for him do the repair. The total was $318 of which $110 was his standard 1 hour labor fee which includes his trip expenses
James did fantastic work. He was responsive, prompt, and professional. On top of that, he went the extra mile to make things right. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.
They set up the initial outing, and diagnosed the problem in about 5 minutes. They called LG, and got the warranty under way, and then ordered the new motherboard while they were still at my house. They came out about a week later when the motherboard had been delivered to them and did the work in about 15 minutes, causing minimal disruptions and leaving absolutely ZERO mess behind at all. They were quick, professional, and I got the sense that they treated my appliance like it was their own. I would absolutely use them again for appliance repair work
