Hurricane Fence Company

Very responsive from first call to finished job follow up after about a week. This was a pretty straight forward job installing a black aluminum back yard fence in Harper's Mill. Selection was easy, got a printed bid right away, materials were delivered earlier than expected, install was scheduled quickly and finished in a day. I really couldn't ask for more

My fence was specifically contracted to serve as a dog fence and we agreed on the contract that the fence will follow the ground line to make sure the dog could not get out of it by crawling underneath. There is a gap along on two fence lines at the ground level that allows my dog to get out. And if the dog doesn't get out there, the gates do not latch and come open all the time. Less than 3 months after the install, one of the gates has warped noticeably. I think this is from the adjustment they made so that the gates would stay latched. We constantly find the gates open. Additionally, the fence that we agreed to on the contract not the fence I got. My contract drawing has right angled corners - my fence corners are not right angles. Think about that - the fence line is straight, but the angle at the corners is not a right angle. This means that the fencing is nailed to the corner post with over an inch of space between the post and the board. This will allow moisture to build and rot the fence very quickly. It also means that the new fence into existing fencing very strangely and looks ODD. We got a fence that is not even close to the contract drawing. Also, the pricing is done by linear foot on the contract and my fence measurement does not measure to the same length I was charged for. They cut short one fence line and then tied into another fence at about a 60 degree angle. My best guess is that one line of fencing was cut short and then angled toward a specific spot on the existing fence. This caused the strange angle. To Hurricane Fence's credit, they did come and correct the fence that shows to the road and front of the house that was tied into the chimney at a strange (not 90 degree) angle. This was visible from the front of the house and road, and has their company sign on it. The gaps for that allow the dog to get out as well as the gates that are warped and will not stay closed less than 3 months after install still remain uncorrected

We wanted to enclose a larger area of our pool and yard and replace the unsightly white vinyl fencing with something more attractive and low maintenance. We met with Rick Belcher with Hurricane in July 2013 to begin gathering quotes. At that time we had to delay our fence project to deal with other home improvement priorities. We began the process again in July 2014 gathering quotes and fence options from multiple companies. We quickly decided to go with Hurricane fence. Rick was just amazingly fast and attentive in responding to our inquiries and questions. And was very knowledgeable about the fencing, the warranties and the installation process our job would require. This was not a basic fence installation as they had to remove the old fence panels and posts, smooth and cement the holes from the old posts and do all in a manner that would allow us to salvage most of the old fence as we had a buyer for it! Rick was in touch with us throughout the whole process and Chris and team did an excellent job on installation, take down and yard clean up. We were dealing with a sloped yard and had it installed to follow the flow of the land and are very pleased with results. Several neighbors and friends have since made comments including " new fence looks elegant", has "classed up" the yard and provides great back ground for patio garden space. We are very happy with results and recommend Rick and Hurricane for any fence projects

We had about 8 companies come out and give us a quote for our yard. Dubon was by far the most fair. There were no hidden costs, no upselling, just straightforward, honest hardworking. The fence went up as scheduled and completed on time. The fence looks great! We are so happy with the project, and our dogs are even more happy. I would not hesitate to use them again

. Mike squeezed us into his schedule ahead of the date he thought was available. He and his men did a professional job and we are thrilled with the fence. We originally wanted a vinyl fence and Mike directed us to a wooden fence to save us 50% of the cost. He was friendly and worked past normal hours to finish the job in a day

Narron fences

We used Narron to have our fence put up. She was recommended by our neighbor and we figured why not? At first everything was great. She showed up the next day to measure the yard and provided us with an estimate the next day. We set up a time to meet at our house to finalize the paperwork and put down the deposit. We had said 6:30/7 because we have a newborn plus two other kids so I wanted enough time to get them fed and settled beforehand. My husband got home around 5/5:30 and she was sitting outside our house! He asked her to wait a minute so he could make sure I wasn’t sitting inside nursing our baby. Next thing I know she’s knocking and coming into my house and proceeds to tell us we need to put our dogs up because she can’t deal with them. THEN I come back downstairs and she’s hovering over my newborn. It’s cold and flu season, and I don’t KNOW you. Get away from my child. I should have known right then and there to run, but we were anxious to get the fence put up so we signed and wrote her a check. Our agreed installation date was for the following Wednesday and were told it was a 1 day job. Tuesday afternoon around 3PM she texts, not calls, TEXTS my husband and says “We will be there Thurs. to install your fence instead of tomorrow. Thanks.” No explanation, just a “tough ****” text. Now, I help my father run our family owned business. I know more than enough about customer service as I have worked in our industry for well over 10+ years. I have NEVER texted one of my customers to reschedule especially so last minute. Red flags started going off. Thursday morning the guys showed up to install the fence. Everything was going great, they were extremely professional and courteous! Around 3:30 they started packing up to leave so I figured the fence was all done. Think again! With only a very small section left they were done for the day and would be back Friday morning. I told them okay, but inside my blood was boiling. At this point our installation date had been moved back a day and now our 1 day fence was going to be a 2 day job. I called my husband to let him know what was going on and he called Ms. Narron. If I thought her lack of customer service and professionalism was already a problem I was wrong. She made up a bunch of excuses about how she can only do but “so much”, didn’t offer any apologies, any sort of discount, nothing. It was another “tough ****” moment. Long story short, save yourself the grief and don’t deal with her unless you want high blood pressure, exercise from having to measure your yard for her, and an all around horrible experience. As for the guys that came out to install our fence, they don’t work for her because I saw their actual company name on their vehicle. So, she subcontracts her work out to other companies. I would hire them any day. They were easy to talk to, listened to my concerns and had valid input and suggestions. They did a fantastic job on our fence, but as for Narron Fences I won’t be putting their “warranty” sign on my fence because she doesn’t deserve to take credit for someone else’s work, nor do I want anyone else to have to deal with her and her bad attitude

Chris & his crew showed up promptly at the time we'd previously planned. They performed the entire job in one day, and were extremely friendly & engaged, in spite of the record-breaking heat. Hurricane Fence Company

I could not be more satisfied with my decision to hire Hurricane Fence. I competed this job among three highly-rated fence companies in the area. Hurricane?s estimator/salesman, Rick, utilized a straightforward, no pressure sales approach, which really made feel comfortable while making my contractor selection. On day one of the install, the foreman on the job, Francisco, was very professional and went the extra mile to ensure he and the crew understood exactly what Rick and I had agreed to. Rick also monitored the job and sent me updates as to the progress while I was at work. I came home from work on day two of the install to a beautiful looking fence that I can definitely say was installed with particular attention to detail. As noted, I am very happy with the entire process and would not hesitate to recommend Hurricane Fence to anyone!

Pretty quickly the gate didn't work. I made 3 calls to them and each time they said they would come and fix it, but never did. I finally gave up, don't use the gate very much so this is an annoyance more than anything else, but I figure if I need a more substantial repair will they in fact come do it

I attempted to use Molina's Handyman services because a friend recommended him. I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks ahead of time. I confirmed the appointment with him 6 days before the appointment. He said he will be able to make it. The day of the appointment he does not show up. I called, texted, and emailed him. He does not respond to me until 3 hours later. He told me he forgot and asked to rescheduled. I gave him a couple of dates and he said he cannot do those days. In the end, I did not end up using his services

Brendan Julian Home Repair & Maintenance

Brendan installed a fencing system that I had purchased onto our existing wood fence around our large back yard. He came by for a consultation prior to the installation and gave me suggestions on how to best carry out the project. The system is designed to keep our cats inside of our back yard (and to hopefully deter other cats from jumping into our yard as well). Brendan did the job quickly and efficiently, and he also purchased (at my request) additional materials and supplies (included in the price I noted above) that were required for the project. I am very pleased with the results, and ours cats are safe and happy now! Brendan is very professional, honest, experienced, and good at what he does. I would use his services again for any project around our house. I had used his services previously for a couple small jobs, so I was confident about hiring him for this project. Although he is listed as a handyman, he can certainly do large projects as well

Good Neighbor Fence Inc

We selected Good Neighbor Fence from several competitive bids. During the quote process we had several rounds of communications with suggestions on how the get the best finished product possible. It took a little while to get started being their busy season and with the rains, but we were kept informed through the process. The crew worked over three days to clear the old fence and then construct the new one, even returning Saturday morning to finish up. During the construction process they provided further suggestions and allowed us to adjust a few things as they went. All-in-all a very smooth and painless project. We would easily recommend them to anyone looking for a new or replacement fence
See comments above Good Neighbor Fencing completed the installation of my pool fence this past week. The actual job took 4 days and they did a wonderful job. They came the day they scheduled and were very considerate and professional.. I was pleased with lack of disruption of the surrounding area and the finished product is attractive and an improvement to the old rod iron fence that they had to take down. Their clean up in and around the yard was great!
These guys were excellent! I bought an acre property with a pool and the property came with only a chain link fence around the pool. I wanted to get rid of what was there and put something up that was more attractive while ensuring that all code was met and I would pass inspection. My new fence is gorgeous and I am thrilled that I do not have to look out my back window at that unusual fence in the middle of the yard anymore, my whole property is fenced in!!! Not only did they put up a beautiful fence, they did so while I was on vacation per my request, so there was no interruption to me. I left with that hideous old fence and came back to a beautiful new one. The project manager did come back out when I was back from vacation to ensure that everything was as I wanted it. I would highly recommend these guys

My house came with an old post-and-rail fence with hogwire already installed. It's been very good for keeping my dogs in. Over the years it has needed the occasional repair because of the elements taking their toll, the neighbor's dog chewing on it, and the like. I have repaired it myself a few times, but finally decided to start calling Narron (their name was on the fence). They have been out here at least 3 times to replace posts and rails. Every time it has been a positive experience. Penny Narron is a very no-nonsense type of person, and I much prefer that to someone trying to give me the phoney "sales talk" stuff. She will basically tell you like it is, and more importantly, she will deliver. When she comes out to do the survey, she makes careful notes of all the details. She also schedules the utility guys to come out and put markers down. So far all of her estimates have been 100% on the money, and they have never gone over. The guys who do the fencing work are punctual, work quickly, and they do a good job. The new posts are always very solid in the ground and they last for several years. The whole operation is very professional. If they need to reschedule for any reason Penny is very good about calling you to let you know what is going on ahead of time

We received an estimate well in advance of the installation date, as we had not closed on the house yet. The estimator, Bill Winters, was polite and professional. He gave me the opportunity to choose a style and went over different options with me. The actual work began during the requested week. They began by installing the posts in concrete. A week later they added the wire, rails and gates. Work was completed on time, and the quality and workmanship were exceptional

We found Commonwealth Renovations through Angie's List, purchasing a "Big Deal" of 3 hours of handyman work for $99.00. We purchased the "Big Deal" Feb 28, 2013, and through no fault of theirs, we did not call them out to the house until June 24, 2013. When the handyman arrived, he was very professional. He worked with me to determine what he would fix in the three hour window. He patched a hole we had in our bathroom drywall. He then installed a new length of PVC pipe to replace a broken PVC drain pipe. Finally, we needed to install bracing for our deck railing, so he dug post holes and set a pair of 4x4 posts in concrete for use to brace the deck railing. He was very courteous, got the work done and cleaned up the work areas when he was finished. I would recommend Commonwealth Renovations to anyone needing handyman type repairs done around or in your home
Prestige was very professional and pleasant to work with. I built a new home, and wanted to have a back yard fence installed for pet containment shortly after I closed. My closing date was end of September, and Prestige (Jeff Gorham) was kind enough to meet me at the home site for and estimate early in August 2012, well before I was actual homeowner or lived at the residence. Just knowing that I needed HOA approval for the fence style, and due to timing, I wanted to plan ahead where possible, and they made it work. Having installed an aluminum fence at my previous home, I first got estimate and planned for this style; but, my HOA would not permit, and Prestige was flexible enough to work up new estimate and change materials once I got word from HOA. They changed order, got white vinyl fencing instead, and were still able to do install same week as originally planned. The installers were prompt on arrival, professional, courteous, and Alex George + Jeff Gorham were great to work with. The material mixup was my error, and they worked with me as needed. I would definitely recommend Prestige to my neighbors and others, and will call them again for future projects (ie - basement refinishing in future)
A crew of four plus two vehicles showed up on time. David was there to supervise. They worked speedily and carefully, cleaning up completely. Also checked knot in tree to see if a water vent could be put in, so water wouldn't sit and rot out tree.
Lupe and his guys were great and did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. These pros got the whole job done in one day. Lupe returned the following day to power wash my driveway which was not in the contract but he wanted the job to look nice and clean. I highly recommend these guys.
