Lonestar Siding & Windows
I had a great experience with Lonestar. The sales person came out in December, showed me the catalog, took measurements and offered prices. Between their reviews on Angie's List and their very reasonable pricing, I selected the company to install the door. Lonestar was a little backed up, between the holidays and probably the snow, but they came out and installed the door last week. It took about twice as long as they expected, but the installers were such perfectionists, the door is perfect. My house was built in 1950, so I feel certain it was a challenge! But I really had no idea how poorly fitted and drafty the old door was! The instant silence (I live right on Patterson Avenue) was amazing. I had a problem with my lock, which I purchased but Lonestar installed, and I emailed the VP of the company to tell him about the problem. He had contacted me a couple of days after the door was installed to see if I was happy with their service. So, when I let Greg know about the lock issue by email on Monday evening, he contacted me Tuesday morning and was out here Tuesday afternoon, and he fixed the issue! I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Lonestar, and I will be using them again when I replace the other doors in the house

Very excellent. He was there when he said he would be there. He is respectful and tidy. I ended up giving him more money than he asked. I had a major leak in a bathroom which sunk the floor and he raised the floor. And fixed the downstairs ceiling. It was completely rotted and he fixed the major project. He also put in a foray for me, the cat had pulled up the carpet, and he replaced that with tile. He put in 3 thresholds in 3 bathrooms. And he tiled the upstairs bathroom

The home my wife & I had recently purchased in Ashland was in dire need of updates. I meet with Justin of Jacob's Ladder, as one of several contractors we had chosen from Angie's List, to solicit a bid for the replacement of 21 windows.Justin was very knowledgable & professional in his presentation, laying out the time frame from the window mfg to the actual installation. The quotes we had obtained were all in the same vicinity so we made the decision to proceed with Jabob's Ladder on the basis of our trust in Justin. The entire process progressed just as outlined. On installation day, 5 workers appeared on time and installed all 21 windows, as well as a door we had decided to replace as well. Their craftsmanship was outstanding, and the premises was devoid of any construction debris. I was extremely pleased with the job from start to finish and would certainly use this firm again for any additional services I might require in the future

On his first job in my home, he replaced a dryer vent hose, replaced 3 toilet seats, and replaced weather stripping on my garage door. He diagnosed the problem with my bathtub drain and bifold doors falling off their track. I purchased the kit necessary to repair the bathtub drain and new bifolds (since you can only get the hardware by buying new doors).So, on the second job ($88 coupon) he installed the bathtub drain and the track for the new doors. On the third job (no coupon) he removed 2 inches of cabinet above my stove to install my new microwave the recommended 18" height above the stove. Once again, the cost of the job was reasonable. And completed in less than a day. I have found my handyman!!! Thanks to Angie's List

Overall, the project went well. There was a problem with the delivery of my windows which delayed the start of work on my house, and I didn't get a call in advance to notify me of the delay. Other than that, Mike was very good to work with; he is concerned with the quality of his team's work and with my satisfaction with the job. He coordinated his work with my house painter after the delay of the window delivery. Also, he went to Fredericksburg to get the specific front door that I wanted, and it looks great! The new windows are very nice... look good and easy to use. I've seen a small reduction in my power bill so far, but the weather's been pretty nice so I haven't had to run the AC or heat a lot yet. I would recommend Professional Home Services and I will use them again for roof replacement when its time to do that

The Deck Tech
Due to weather their work was really backed up, so they weren't able to start until early June. It took several trips to rip out the old material and measure. Then it took 4 weeks for the new stuff to come in, and several pieces weren't the correct size, so they had to be reordered. I don't believe these delays were the fault of the contractor. The workmen were courteous, neat and professional. We are still waiting for door hardware to arrive and be installed, but already we love the results

He was on time and very efficient, I gave him a deposit and doors arrived about ten days later. It took less than a day to install and they look great. I would use Old Dominion again

We pretty much gutted the master bathroom and started over....with the main goal of adding a luxurious shower with a big glass door and getting the pocket doors and inset medicine cabinets David Clark and his team did the bulk of the work...and did it brilliantly. The cost above does not include what we paid to the designer and it should be noted that the tile and fixtures were purchased through her. However, we felt the cost was definitely reasonable for all the tear down and reconstruction work that was done. The custom medicine cabinets are exactly what we wanted. And, the pocket doors, which are not easy to install, are perfectly balanced. In every way, David worked to create the exact space that I wanted. And, he was very patient with me when I changed my mind on one piece of the project
