Reviews in Richmond to Install Bath Exhaust Fan

Schools Electrical Service Inc

It didn’t go well. I had purchased a special offer that included a bath exhaust fan which included installation for $150.00. Mr Schools did not only honor his offer but would not, did not refund what I paid. Schools offered plenty excuses but never delivered- this event occurred over a several month period. Extremely disappointed and a total rip-off in my opinion

He was on time, polite, and extremely professional. He got the job finished in less time than expected. EVERYTHING has worked wonderfully. We are having him back in July to install some other things. I will continue to use Seven Hills Electric and ask for James each time.

Excellent service!!! Would recommend to anyone wanting a ceiling fan installation. Also suggested and installed fan speed adjustment switch because the remote receiver that came with the fan could not fit in my ceiling housing.

I called this afternoon, left a message, and received an immediate call back. I explained that we needed a bath exhaust fan replaced. He asked if I wanted a basic replacement that would run around $50 plus labor, or something nicer. I opted for the basic model, as this is a spare bath. He offered to send a workman out immediately. My mistake was not asking for an estimate, or at least asking what the labor charge would be. The workman, Mike, came as promised, with the basic model fan in tow. He had to do a little fitting work, but in just over an hour, the work was done, and all was cleaned up. He came in with an un-itemized bill, and said, "I called Mike, and he said $295.00" I was a little surprised, but wrote him a check. As I said, I should have asked what the labor charge would be, never dreaming that he would charge $200 an hour! I doubled checked the model of fan I got, which was indeed around $50. So it was an expensive lesson for me. Won't use this company again. UPDATE: Because we were so upset by the very high price, we called Mr Cole the day after we wrote this review. He promised to check with his workman and call us back the next day. Well, almost two weeks later, and a follow email from us, we have heard nothing. And he cashed the check. Well, he got his money, but no more business from us, or our neighbors

I appreciated that Seven Hills quickly responded once I purchased the service on Angie's List. Appointments for fan installation at my home and later at my daughter's loft were set up quickly. The electrician, James, showed up promptly for both jobs and worked quickly and professionally.

I used Cardinal Electric to install a bathroom exhaust fan in my newly renovated bathroom. I was excited to use him because he was very pleasant upon meeting him and seemed like a great guy. I was displeased however with him leaning on my ceiling air vent causing the damper to be pushed through my drywall. I had actually spent a lot of time repairing my ceiling during the renovation. He didn’t tell me about the incident and I found it once i got home which I did not appreciate, he did admit to the accident upon me asking him and told me he forgot to tell me. Just seems like a rather big mishap to not tell the homeowner, especially when you attempted to correct it with a lot of compound. Needless to say he offered to fix it, but I was uncomfortable with him doing so, I would have rather have had some of his labor cost taken off of the job since I now have to fix drywall and paint...again. Exhaust fan works though and it was correctly placed and all light switches work...not a bad guy just needs to be more careful and less forgetful

The repairman was a licensed journeyman electrician which was good because I wanted a trained professional working on my electrical system. He quickly diagnosed the problem, needed a part (new motor), left and returned within an hour and completed the job quickly and efficiently. He wore shoe-covers on his shoes and was neat and tidy. I will call James River in the future for electrical repairs

Being ignored by a different service provider turned out very well for us. I got tired of waiting and called Mike Cole. I described the scope of work in a nutshell and made arrangements with Mike to walk the job with me so he could provide a quote. Mike called when he was on his way, he showed up when he said he would and went over the property with me top to bottom. He gave me a quote on the job and said that the work could be started at 8 a.m. the next morning (a Saturday) if we liked. Yes, we liked !! Jeff and Chris arrived promptly at 8 a.m. the next morning. After looking over the details, the technicians went to work. These guys do not mess around - they brought their tools and their "A"game!! We moved into our new home a few months ago and I'd been chomping at the bit to eradicate all the tacky brass fixtures that been inflicted on this house (a model home, no less.) This was a big day on the project calendar !! It was apparently considered acceptable at some point in time to suspend a 42" white/brass ceiling fan on a 4' down pole from the great room ceiling. I was more annoyed at the idea of such laziness than I was at the complete uselessness of a ceiling fan twelve feet off the floor! By early afternoon, the attic was well-lit and 'exhausted', all the tacky fixtures were gone, the new fixtures were in and I got to see how professionals install a 60" ceiling fan on a 6' down rod from a 17' ceiling. Any mess that appeared was cleaned up. Product boxes were put back together and all placed in one area ready to go to the recycling center. Everything is up and secure, works like it is supposed to and looks amazing. We now have the team that will be handling all our future electrical work and be the one we recommend to our associates. I'm hard to impress and Cole Electric really delivered!

I purchased {paid in advance} a special offer for a bathroom exhaust fan install that included the fan and labor for $150.00. From my first contact nearly 2 years ago until now (10-2018) a fan has still not been provided and installed - I've gotten nothing for my $150 but being ignored. This contractor has refused my refund requests etc. and has made no effort to right this wrong

Like it never even happened! I also had them do some unrelated plumbing work and also install a bathroom exhaust fan. They did a good job with everything.

I had a ceiling fan removed and a new light fixture installed. I was very happy with the results and they were on time.
Steve and Julie were very responsive to my emails and showed up when they said they would. They were very professional and left the work area clean afterward. They installed three ceiling fans in the upstairs bedrooms. This required them to run wire from the existing wall plate up to the attic and to where they installed ceiling fan brackets. They were quick in their work and it looks great. I would hire them again
Corey was great, figured out the problem right away. Materials were reasonable, labor and service call charges were separate and seemed a little steep to me, I had used them a couple years ago, and didn't remember the $75 service call separate from the labor, Maybe it was because it was on a Saturday....I was just a little surprised when I saw $165 for a 30 minute job
The company was very hardworking , pleasant, and professional. They arrived right on time, got the job done in record time, and cleaned up behind themselves. I provided the ceiling fans but forgot to buy the exhaust fan. Steve immediately purchased the exhaust fan and brought in by within 20 minutes. I would defintely use them again
After my initial inquiry Friday afternoon, he called Sunday afternoon to confirm arrival time for Monday morning. He was punctual and wiped feet with a rag before entering my home. He immediately fixed shower doors and installed my new mailbox. Coincidentally the fans stopped working prior to his arrival, so work on them wasn't necessary. Mr. Julian did offer to install new ceiling fans and made recommendations for purchase as far as base and blade length. I was delightful to work with, and I will definitely call him again
