INSTALLED NEW FIREPLACE, CHIMNEY PIPE, CHASE COVER, REPLACED SLATE FRONT and HEARTH. OVERALL, THE WORK WAS SATISFACTORY. NEW FIREPLACE INSTALLED WITH WRONG DOORS WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED, WHICH WAS DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER. SLATE HEARTH LEFT STICKING UP 1/4and quot; ALL AROUND TOP WITH SHARP EDGES LEFT UNCOVERED AND SUBJECT TO CHIPPING. INSTALLER THOUGHT IT and quot;LOOKED FINEand quot; AND DIDN'T SEEM TO KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. I HAD TO HIRE A CONTRACTOR TO REPAIR SLATE HEARTH INSTALLATION. COST FOR REPAIR WAS MINIMAL.OVERALL, THE WORK WAS SATISFACTORY, AND I WOULD HIRE THE SAME COMPANY AGAIN.

Scott arrived on time and was able to complete the job on time. Replacing the fireplace and installing new chimney cap and flashing resolved an attic leak issue. We are very satisfied with the result.

My husband and I wanted to put a new gas insert into our existing fireplace and had a terrible time looking for someone who would "listen to us" about what we wanted. The Grilling Store (Don and Gerry Greene) were wonderful. They steered us in the right direction based on our needs and worked with us to keep the price reasonable. We ended up purchasing a new, modern looking door assembly and rather than replace the insert they worked with us to find a gas log set that would produce efficient heating for the room. After visiting 4-5 fireplace shops who only wanted to sell us what they had in stock, these two gentlemen worked with us and listened! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for gas logs, doors, or fireplace inserts.

It appointment went very will. Jason, I believe his name is, promptly called me back after I initially left a voicemail and we set up a time to come out. He was prompt with his appointment and very professional. During the visit he cleaned out my fireplace, checked all components and determined that it was a valve that needed to be replaced. Due to the manufacturer and relatively short time since installation (builder installed in new home) he recommended that I call the installer company to see if the part was under warranty. I appreciated his honesty and he did not try to "make a sale" by insisting on ordering the new part. He did say that if I called and found out the part was NOT under warranty it would be willing to order and install the new part. The entire service call did not take more than 30 minutes and I was not charged for the service call because he was not able to actually fix the fireplace. I mentioned that I would definitely call him if the part was not under warranty. Jason, was professional and honest in his assessment and willing to work with me as a customer. I thanked him for his professionalism and honesty.

Excellent. Mr. Jeremy Pickering picked up new microwave from supplier, arrived promptly and expertly altered existing cut out space for new microwave oven. With use of special trim kit, Mr. Pickering did an outstanding job in installing the new unit. He was most courteous. He took away the older microwave and cleaned up work area. Upon testing he found the unit not working property. At no extra change, he instructed the supplier to order a new microwave (same mode), picked it up from the supplier and exhanged it in place of the defective unit. This re-installation was completed only a few days later.

Brian and his helper completed the removal and new install in one day. All of their work was completed with great attention to detail and with an effort to keep our carpet and room clean. I'm was very happy that they were able to install the new fireplace, new chimney, and new marble surround and hearth without removing the existing wood surround and mantel. Keep our existing and very nice wood surround features saved us substantial money. One installation hitch occurred regarding a flexible gas coupling that the Town of Cary would not approve of, but Brian reconnected the existing non-flex gas pipe and the TOC approval was done. We enjoyed the much improved warmth of the new sealed fire box and dual flue vent of the new fireplace last winter and look forward to the same this winter. In conclusion, we had gotten estimates from one other fireplace installation company, but Lani and Brian did a much better job at explaining the work required and quoted a much more reasonable price. We would highly recommend Flue and Flame to anyone.

Mr Smokestack Chimney Service

whenever we would burn more than one peice of wood in our fireplace, smoke would roll out into the living room. I called Mr Smokestack after reading the reviews from Angies list. Robbie came over and explained why this was happening. He suggested the smoke gaurd for the fireplace and a 8" cap instead of the 4" cap that was on the chimney. He was very curtious and extremely knowledgeable about his trade. He was on time and did a fantastic quality job! I would definately use his service again.

Using an Angie's List Deal, we hired Kenneth Redmond to clean/service our gas fireplace. He arrived when he said he would, did an excellent job and was very pleasant to work with. I mentioned our 11 year old blower made noise intermittently and it obligingly made the whining/grinding noise for him. We decided to get a new blower. He ordered it and scheduled install. In the meantime we used the fireplace and of course the blower now did not make the offending noise. (We planned to continue with the install anyway since it was only a matter of time until it failed.) When he came out to install it, I casually mentioned that naturally after ordering, it is not making the noise anymore. He offered to cancel if it seemed it wasn't needed and he would just keep the blower, adding it to his stock of spare parts. No pressure or ominous warnings of impending failure or anything. I was impressed. He installed it and we are looking forward to a whining/grinding-worry free Fall.

The installation was completed on 5/31/2012 and we are delighted with the results. The fireplace was cleaned and the glass doors and burner/logs were installed. I would highly recommend using this company. They offer multiple choices and their pricing is very reasonable.

Recent Review: Project Services is by far the best plumbing service around (Juan is the plumber who usually does the work for me, and he is great). I use them for all my plumbing needs. They get the job done right. They recently routed a gas line off of my gas fireplace under my house for a new gas range. When I bought the range a few weeks later, it didn't slide all the way back because the newly installed gas line valve was blocking the path of the range, so I called Project Services and explained the situation. The next day they came back and fixed the problem at no additional charge. It is reasons like these that I keep going back to them.

Recent Review: Our 24 year old home needed a serious facelift and after receiving quotes from three highly rated contractors on Angie's list we hired Reilly's Handyman Services. We were planning on exterior painting, and interior painting including removing popcorn from the ceilings; also there were several necessary plumbing repairs, including a shower that had been leaking and unusable for many years. We also wanted to install three skylights to brighten our cavernous, two story tall front room. This was a big and complicated job, further complicated by the fact that we already had a kitchen renovation underway with a different company, and coordinating the two projects was not trivial. Norm Reilly was extremely professional throughout the entire process, from evaluating and planning the needed work, to scheduling his crews, to following up to address any remaining issues. He was also very accommodating with regards to coordinating with the kitchen renovation, and on several occasions rescheduled his own workers when the kitchen work was delayed. As often happens, additional work was found to be necessary, most significantly, it was discovered that after nearly 25 years of Carolina sunshine, the shingles had become too brittle to work with for the skylight installation, and even without the skylights, the roof was very near the end of it's life, and would need replacing soon. Within a matter of days, Norm came over with shingle samples, provided a very reasonable quote for the additional work, and the actual shingle replacement was completed in one day. During the exterior painting, it was found that the siding around the chimney was rotten. We had already decided to board the fireplace over (the new kitchen sink was going into that location), but it now appeared that maintaining the now useless chimney would just be recurring expense, so with Norm we drew up a plan to just remove the entire chimney (it was not masonry, it was a pipe surrounded by siding), and cover the area with siding; clearly not part of the original plan, however, two days later I came home to find the entire chimney lying in the yard, very shortly to be loaded into a truck and taken away. The painting proceeded on schedule. Although the chimney removal was dramatic, we were most impressed by the work in our front room. This was a two-story tall space typical of the transitional style; in addition to the installation of the skylights, we wanted to remove the popcorn from the ceiling, which was at least 20 ft high at the peak, and also paint the entire room. This involved scaffolds, and we were apprehensive about the logistics of the high work, however, Norm's painters knew exactly what they were doing and were very efficient, and even removed and rehung several very large and heavy original paintings. All of Norm's workers were friendly and polite, and respectful of our home. They cleaned up each day and always left an orderly and safe worksite. Overall a very positive experience. We would not hesitate to recommend this company for any type of general home maintenance and repair.

Recent Review: These guys did a great job! Ralph and Carl are very professional and detail oriented. They are very easy to work with and respond immediately to any questions or concerns. They are onsite very frequently to oversee their sub contractors during construction. The job was done when they said it would be done and right on budget.

Recent Review: I am thrilled with the quality and entire process. Stephen and team were creative and offered a few different design options. The team worked with us during construction on a few minor modifications. I am thrilled with the quality, custom experience, and responsiveness. I cannot say enough good things, including follow up months after construction on a few items unrelated to the project. Save yourself the time and hire these guys!
