Bottom line: not a great experience. I've debated with myself over whether or not to write a review. I don't want to be whiny, but I'd like to share my experience, so here are the facts: 1. The quoted (and final) price was fair. 2. The recommendations that the arborist made for trimming my old tree were sound, and in agreement with other experts. 3. They were able to accommodate my request for scheduling the work, but they scheduled it on the last weekday of the window that I gave them. They showed up too late in the day and with too full a truck to finish the tree-removal job on the date scheduled. They did about half the job, and just assumed it was OK to finish the work the next week, which was outside the agreed-upon window. I needed to get the job done by Saturday because I didn't want them cutting down or trimming trees while we were out of town. They reluctantly agreed to assemble a crew to finish the job on Saturday, but only after several hours of hassle and several heated arguments with the supervisors who were on duty Friday afternoon. 4. The tree removal crew seemed to be expert, but several bushes and shrubs were damaged by falling debris, and there was no acknowledgement of the damage. 5. The Saturday crew completed the work, but not without disagreement with us about the details of the tree-trimming. I was promised that the certified arborist would be on hand to direct the trimming, but he was not on site when they trimmed the tree, and the crew did not do the job we expected: they cut away branches that the arborist(s) said should not be cut, and refused to trim some of the branches as we expected. When we contacted him, he did not return to the site to resolve the issue, but just directed the crew to leave. 6. The stump grinding was scheduled for a later date. We were specifically told that curbside car removal was not needed for stump grinding. But, when the crew arrived, they immediately left because parked cars were in the way, and rescheduled for the next week, even though they were well aware that the project needed to be finished before the Friends of Trees planting date, 2/28. There was nothing they were willing to do until I worked up the ladder to Jeanine, who seemed empathetic. She arranged to have the crew return the next day, but they could only work if we were able to get the neighbors to move their cars overnight. We scrambled around after dark to get that to happen, but it wasn't until the next morning that we knew for sure the curbs were clear. 7. The stump grinders returned on schedule, but the sidewalk and a couple of landscape pavers were cracked in the process, again with no acknowledgement from the crew. Those are the facts. My overall customer experience was of disappointment and hassle, and I'm a little concerned that my old tree was trimmed inexpertly. I believe this company has opportunity to improve its integrity with commitments and its sensitivity to its customers' experiences.
