Albuquerque Plumbing Heating & Cooling

The company subcontracts various technicians and it was just the luck of the draw that I got one that fairly new to working with them. We were a little shocked when he charged 2.5 hours beyond the $69 change-over fee but with the part he had to go get and his time on the roof he did spend that. It just seemed he was really slow and we weren't prepared for such a big bill. I was going to call the office the next day to have them look at the bill but they beat me to it and said the bill was being reviewed by the supervisor. When they called me back they adjusted it to remove most of the additional time and I felt the final charge more than fair. I've never had a plumbing company care so much about my being happy with their service.

Poorly... Boy,oh boy! What people will do for a buck! So, Perry Heating Came out and checked the air conditioner at no charge as part of the service agreement for the new system I had installed last year. Then they charged me $79.99 for the service call and then they said they couldn't just put a patch the copper tubing going to the swamp cooler. So, he put all new copper tubing on and charged me for 6 feet of tubing. He charged me $11.54 a foot! So, I complained about that cost, but he showed me the manual where it states the charge. Now to the good part. My friend just happened to call me and I told her that the cost of the copper was $11.54. She just had a fit about the cost. Unbeknownst to me, she called Ace Hardware and asked what their price was for copper tubing for a swamp cooler. They said $0.69 a foot. So, I caught the worker as he was leaving. Even though he was nice, I told him to call their office as I wanted to talk to the manager. He did. I told him what I discovered about the price of copper. He tried arguing with me and asked me if I didn't expect the copper to be more than $0.69. I said, "Of course, I expect you to make money from the copper, but not almost $11 per foot. He then tried to put me down and argue. I interrupted him and said, "Don't try getting into an argument with me. I'm much older and smarter than you are. So make an adjustment in the price. I'm canceling the check that I gave the worker and reporting you to better business bureau. He said, "Let me talk to our serviceman". An adjustment was made. Instead of the original charge of $148.99, the new amount was $88.99. It is too bad these kind of things happen. I feel better though. I feel they made profit, but didn't rob me at the same time.

David and Jack did a great job replacing two bulky vents in our basement. We were looking to scale them down in size and push one toward the wall to downsize the soffits as part of our basement remodel. They also added a heating vent in one room where we had not previously had one. Overall, it looks so much better and is exactly what we had hoped to achieve. They worked quickly and were polite and courteous. The price also seemed very fair and was significantly less than the other bid we received from a smaller company. We would definitely hire them again.

The guy showed up a little late, but diagnosed that a duct was either clogged or that a damper was closed somewhere. He had to come back on a different day to actually do the work. We have our ducts enclosed (boxed in with sheetrock). So he checked out our furnace, figured out the ductwork, cut into one of the "walls" of sheetrock and located the problem. Perhaps it was luck, but he cut into the sheetrock EXACTLY where the damper was. We discovered that when the ducts were enclosed, someone had shut the damper. Once we opened it, problem was solved. He was a little messy when he cut into the sheetrock. He should have used a drywall saw. I was happy that the charges were really reasonable, considering he had to come to the house twice.

We got bid for a Tankless water heater install and adding 2 heat vents. The issue is with the water heater install. The heat vents were done correctly. They advised us that we could do our own water pipe hookup to the tankless heater, that could be true if there inspector had not made note of it on this report. That cost us a $239 permit plumbing fee. They charged us $90 for extending the gas roof vent which should have been correctly done the first time in the original job. So in the the end the gas tankless water heater cost install and equipment cost $4100.00 Next time we will hire a plumber to install it all for one price. This company I'm sure does well with heating and a/c but not full service tankless installs.

Early morning before we left for work we found one of our bedrooms full of smoke and called the fire department, after the fire department determined the smoke was coming from our gas furnace, we called our trusted HVAC team at Able Heating and Cooling they dispatched a technician immediately. The technician arrived within 1/2 Hour and inspected the entire system, changed the filter and informed us of what the problem was - excessive dust and soot as we have a wood stove we burn in the winter at times - and how to ensure it doesn't happen again replacing the filter every three months instead of every six. Highly recommend this company we have been using them for the last 5 years for all of our heating and cooling equipment.

Recent Review: A person came to my home to give me an estimate. We discussed thoroughly the different options in terms of installation and models. This person was very knowledgable and gave me a written estimate and detailed work description on the spot. The installers were in time, worked very efficiently and didn't make a mess. Both, the heating and cooling units have worked without problems since the installation. They also came once for maintenance and were very good. I highly recommend them.
