Reviews in Portland for Post Tension Cable Repair

Ram Jack West - Portland
5.0
Many piers under my house were no longer supported due to soil settling. Out of 3 quotes, Ram Jack was the lowest final price and most flexible. Their initial quote was about 2x higher. We discussed the situation in more detail, and they brought in a consulting engineer, resulting in an alternative approach that was much cheaper. Very happy with the final results. The work crew was good, although the supervisor was not around for the entire job, so there were some language barriers during the construction. Also they could have done a better job communicating with us to keep us updated on construction progress (e.g. an update at the end of the day). But not a major issue.

Ken, the estimator, was extremely professional and thorough. I was confident from the beginning that Ram Jack knew how to resolve our problem. The office manager, was very communicative and professional throughout the process. The repair guys, were efficient and courteous.

They came out promptly and discussed the situation. They had a few suggested approaches, but they seemed a bit ad-hoc, although they would probably work. Finally quoted a significant excavation job, concrete pour, and support pier replacement. Nothing wrong with this but it was more expensive than other quotes. Took some time (a few weeks) and a reminder call before they got back to me with the final quote after the initial visit. I did discuss some other drainage issues around the house and they gave some helpful and honest advice.

The quote was thorough and Marc was prompt in delivering it. The work proceeded exactly when they said it would and was done on schedule. They moved some plants for us and were very helpful throughout. When we found more repairs to be done in the basement, they came back and did them. They told us exactly what to paint to finish the project. Although the price was more than we had hoped, it came with a 25 year guarantee and there has not been even a hint of a leak since we had it done (and the entire basement was like a sieve before we had the work done). We're very pleased and they were very professional.

F/X REPAIR & REMODELING

We needed a series of items completed around the house: new fence, concrete step repair, foundation support, etc. We were excited to find a company that seemed to be a "one stop" shop, and I gave Bob a call. I have a busy schedule, and Bob was really good about connecting with me which I let him know I appreciated. We scheduled a time to meet. Bob was flexible and arrived on time. We spent about 1 hour discussing the items that needed to be done. I have lots of experience with home repair and felt comfortable with his approach and level of understanding. If he had turned in a reasonable estimate, I would have lined them up to do the work. Bob said he would provide an estimate in 3 days. Almost 10 days later, I still had not received an email. I called to check with Bob to verify that he had sent an estimate and check to see if maybe it didn't end up in the junk folder. I left a message asking him to let me know if he sent an estimate but did not hear back. I called two days later and spoke to Bob directly. I asked Bob if he had sent an estimate. While he didn't say he had, he did say he was having email problems and that he would re-send it by the end of that day. Here I am 4 days later (almost 3 weeks from the first visit) no email, no call. If I didn't read all the prior reports regarding no follow up then I might try again. Bummer.
