I had an excellent experience with Dog Watch Fencing. I have owned dogs for years and have been reluctant to use invisible fencing. Upon moving to the Portland area recently, and living on a busy street with a large unfenced yard, I decided to try it. Every interaction I had with Glenn was informative, helpful, and extremely professional. His calm demeanor, patience, and knowledge were much appreciated. He provided estimates and completed all work in a very timely manner and according to schedule. While he was vacation, Glenn arranged for the services of the previous owner, Megan, who also was wonderful to work with. I felt tended to at all steps of this project. Most importantly, I now feel safe letting our dogs out in the yard. They have learned to respect the boundaries of our property which is no small task, given that one of our four dogs was a rescue dog from Puerto Rico who was used to independently roaming miles and miles of land. The fact that he is now staying in our unfenced yard speaks volumes to the effectiveness of this fencing system. We also had a small device installed near our front door inside the house which works in the same manner as the outside fencing and keeps the dogs from charging to and out the front door whenever someone opens the door. Another feat I never thought possible! One final comment. A few weeks ago I received a hand written note from Glenn, thanking me for purchasing and using his product, and making himself available in the future should any issues arise. The hand written thank you card is, sadly, a dying art, and a gesture that goes miles in solidifying a person/company as a professional, class act. Well done Glenn! Overall an exceedingly rewarding experience, a product that works, and a company that I would have no hesitation in recommending.

The on-site rep was very helpful, came out ahead of time and then completed the work very quickly. They have two training sessions, a great warranty and guarantees. They are really a first-class organization.

The system was very expensive, I expected the installation to go as the sales man told me when he was "selling" the system. I think he told me what he though would sell the system, not what was correct. The service guy who installed told me different stuff that would have made me look into it more before buying. The wire was supposed to be on the property/fence line. The actual installation was up to 15' inside the fence because it was easier. The sales man had specifically told me they could do it on the fence since and we had discussed specific installion and agreed on how it would be done. A second issue: I can not adjust the intensity of the "shock" they need to come out to do it. The setting is not working so now have been waiting to get an appointment. I finally had an appt, a 4 hour window I have to be home, then they call at the end of the window and cancel. I have to call and set up another appt. My neighbor bought a system at the feed store for a fraction of the cost and installed himself. It is working much better than mine.

Glenn was prompt and provided exactly the service and product that we needed. Our dog was very social and loved to go on "walks by himself!" Our invisible fence has stopped that completely. Our dog is now safe and happy. He loves to be outside and we have the peace of mind that even though we cannot always see him, he is safely chasing squirrels or deer and will safely come back when called. The fence works beautifully. Our dog will chase the deer as fast as he can and he will stop short, just in time not to get a "zap!" For those concerned that it will hurt or harm your dog, I would strongly disagree. It only took a few times the first week before he completely adheres to his boundary. He knows and respects his boundaries and does not get shocked. I highly recommend Glenn, his service and products.

We had an EXCELLENT experience all the way from start to finish. Meghan was responsive immediately upon inquiry by email. We set a date, she installed it as planned and trained our dog. We fenced around our yard and our next door neighbors', so she had two completely different dogs to train. Our 1 year old rat terrier and our neighbors' almost 11 year old mixed breed. Each dog handled the situation differently, posing different challenges, and Meghan was unflappable. She came out an extra time to continue training our neighbors' dog and did not charge any extra. Both dogs are doing really well with the fence, and it has been a major lifestyle shift being able to leave the back door open and knowing the dog will stay in the yard. We are all very pleased and would absolutely recommend Meghan to anyone looking for a hidden fence. She was also a much better price than her competitor.

As with many folks in Portland, Oregon, we have a dog. And as with many people we share a fence with our neighbors. Sadly their dogs are quite fence aggressive, which, overtime became a delightful game for our dog. She would charge the fence, run back and forth and create quite a ruckus. As a 120 lb newfie, she smashed plants, ruined trees and made our time outside challenging as we worked to keep her off the fence. I was hesitant to investigate an invisible fence because I was worried about how the collar may "hurt" my dog. But after one too many tussles at the fence line, I began my search on Angie's List. I contacted Megan, the owner and she returned my message in less than one day. She was out within three days (my schedule had delayed us) to provide an estimate and walk me through our options. She even left behind a remote dog trainer for us to test out until we had the fence in place. Megan has been amazing. She was thoughtful about the installation, what made sense for the yard and the dog. And not only did she install the fencing, she returned to help us fine tune the programming. We were so happy that we purchased a similar device for walking/hiking. Now when we're out and about on the weekends at the Oregon Coast or Hood River, we can have more control over our big furry giant. My worries about "hurting" my dog have vanished. She no longer charges the fence. Our backyard is peaceful again -- well on our side. The other dogs can snarl and growl, but our dog simply stays away. In fact the cat has figured out how to be on the alternate side of the invisible fence and teases her from the other side! I highly recommend Megan and DogWatch Hidden Fences. If we ever move, she'll be one of the first folks that I call!

HARDLINE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION INC

Hardline Design and Construction was easy to work with throughout the project from competitive bid through completion of project and removal of all debris in a timely manner. Owner, Adam Lucas was consistently punctual, congenial, and professional; he also visited the site daily to ensure proper subcontractor progress on the project. Hardline Design and Construction built a Japanese gazebo-style cedar grape arbor supported by pressure treated 4x4s set in concrete. They built a cedar arched trellis for my established row of robust evergreen jasmine vines. Both structures were to replace rotted original trellises that Hardline Design and Construction also demolished and removed. It was a difficult space for the workmen, as my old thorny rambling rose that I insisted they save was very robust and had grown through the original grape trellis to top of adjacent garage roof. They also installed new decorative wire dog fences with metal rod supports along entire long driveway from front to back of property, since my garage is at back of my property, to keep my American Greyhound off extensive flower beds along side of back garden. They used chainsaw, pruned, and removed massively overgrown saplings and large ancient rhododendron shrubs that obstructed all of Hardline Design and Construction’s work in the back garden. They also installed a large oval raised herb and vegetable bed in back garden with 2-feet tall decorative curved concrete block surrounds, and removed the two old rotten wood raised bed frames that it replaced ($9,750).

Recent Review: We tried to use an Invisible Fence to keep our two-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer and three-year-old Pit Mix in our yard. It didn't work--not even a little bit. When we told Pet Playgrounds this, they were more than accommodating--especially when we stressed that the Pointer is a TSA Explosive K9 and we CAN'T have him getting loose. Victor and his employees (and his adorable 10-year-old Golden) showed up at our house early to install our fence. So far, the dogs have LOVED LOVED LOVED having their own personal dog park in our backyard. The MAX Strength was definitely the way to go as both of our dogs are chewers and Houdinis. They can't break through the fence. They can't chew through it. They can't jump it. They're totally safe and confined to the backyard. It's fantastic. I'd highly recommend Pet Playgrounds to anyone interested in keeping their dogs in their yard. It's way less expensive than a traditional fence and it's far more reliable than an electric fence.

Recent Review: This fencing company was a pleasure to deal with from our first meeting to our last. Polite, punctual and professional, they know agricultural (and residential) fencing, and work extremely hard to provide you with the fencing you have in mind. If that means a return visit to tweak a couple things to make the property owner happy, they are happy to do it. And they did! The owner, Matt Jones, and one of his crew spent a half day here recently to switch out a section of the electric fencing for a different material I'd preferred, at no additional cost to me. They even removed a few posts for me that had no relation to their fencing job (i.e., old clothes lines posts and old garden posts), simply because I asked.

Recent Review: Alan came out and bid the job at "no charge". He was eager for the work and was the low bidder out of 2 vendors that came out. He and his son work together. He measured the yard and drew a little drawing of what the job would entail. The fence was to be picket where it was visible from the street with a gate and arbor. The side would be wire on a two by four frame up one side. It would connect to a neighbor's fence in the back and then it would be a wire mesh with metal posts on the "woodsy" side, ending in another section of picket with another gate between the garage and house (he would need to put one post in our concreate pad). He was creative in the solutions he proposed to each of the different challenges. He was about to go away on vacation, but said his son would come and start the job while he was away. Within a week they were able to start and the job took about 3 days. They did exactly what we had agreed on and it is working as advertised - the dogs are staying in the yard.
