Reviews in Portland for Installing Plumbing Fixtures
Clog Pro Plumbing And Drain
I called Wed. a.m., Feb 12, and spoke with Ana who was helpful and able to set up an appointment for Chris to come give an estimate between noon and 2 pm. He arrived in the timeframe and I showed him what I wanted done. I showed him the items I wanted installed (I purchased the sinks and fixtures beforehand). On the shower/tub stalls, he indicated I needed different fixtures due to the brand currently in use. He also indicated that the shower head in the tub stall was loose and he may need to tear into the wall of the bedroom behind the plumbing to stabilize the head. I was alarmed and indicated I did not wish this had to be done. He indicated he would do his best not to have to tear into the wall. After reviewing all the items needed to be done, he handed me a written estimate, I believe for about $1800, and indicated it would be a 2-day job. I agreed to this, and arrangements were made for him to return on Feb. 17 sometime between 12 and 2 pm to start work. He arrived in a timely manner and got to work. During installation of faucets, I came to learn that one of the tub shower head fixtures needed to be a different brand to go with the plumbing already there. I tried several times throughout that morning to obtain the right fixture to no avail. Eventually, Chris sent me to a particular plumbing store that he deals with on a regular basis. They worked with me to get the right things. (Also, a toilet I had gotten at the local big box store was not correct either, so I went to Chris's plumbing supplier and with Chris directing them over the phone, obtained the right parts.) At one point, I indicated there was an issue with one of the kitchen sink fixtures (lines for cold and hot were crossed so hot water came out on cold side). As it turned out, the IKEA fixture I'd gotten for this sink had all sorts of problems, and he encouraged me to replace it with Delta brand. I agreed to do so, as well as replace another faucet that was not working for its' sink. Due to my incorrect choices of fixtures and toilet, work was delayed by several days. He wasn't able to return to finish the work until Feb. 21. On Feb. 20, I called Ana and asked her to add to the list: secure a toilet that had come loose from the floor as well as install a new seat cover to said toilet. This she did gladly. Chris arrived promptly at 8 am on Feb. 21, ready to finish off the work. With an assistant, he was able to complete all plumbing issues by noon, I believe. Good news was that because of the plumbing items he asked me to get, he was able to fix the instability of the tub shower head without tearing into either side of the wall. Of course, because of the work order changes and difficulties during the week, he had to charge me extra. When he told me the new figure, I indicated I was surprised, and grateful, it wasn't any higher. I let him know I was very pleased with his efforts and patience with me while we worked together to get the right fixtures for the right plumbing

D & F Plumbing Co
Phil was very helpful and rolled with the quirks of our antique plumbing. He was patient and informative and figured out how to jerry-rig some needed parts when the off-the-shelf items would not fit. Thanks so much Phil for all your help!!!

Ace Handyman Services
Work was performed while unit was vacant. Tile was installed well, it took one day for removal, one day for install and one day for grout (mastic had to dry). Spacers weren't used on the tile and the tiles weren't perfectly straight but they were done well overall. I was told the grout would be sealed as part of the install but the installers left a note and a bottle of sealant with instructions. Pricing was as follows: Service Call - $45.00 Labor - 16 hours, 6 hours with A/L coupon @ $375 and 10 more at $70/each Materials - 6x6 white ceramic tile, bullnose edges, plumbing supplies, tub spout, caulk, adhesive, green board - $562.53 Debris Removal - $75.00 Total Cost - $1757.5

City Home Improvement
Christine helped with the designing process and we appreciated her ideas and expertise. The work started quickly and the carpenter who did most of the work (Kevin) was prompt, polite, and a perfectionist. The work was done beautifully with care and expertise. There were some communication issues between Christine and Kevin and I was often glad I happened to pass Kevin on my way out to answer any questions he had. When the cabinetry was installed we were pretty disappointed. One of the cabinets was crooked, the wood was split where it was drilled in, and the vanity was much bigger than expected. Christine was able to get the vanity modified to appropriate size and Kevin fixed the rest of the bad cabinetry installation. We weren't clear that the vanity light needed to be picked out by a certain time, so the recessed medicine cabinet had to be done twice. Christine was understanding and willing to meet our expectations

American Plumbing Services LP
I had purchased one of those Big deals. I had a Kallista faucet, Console sink and Toilet that needed to be installed. They were totally intimidated by my materials. I eventually told them not to worry about my powder room and just had them change out the toilet in one of my secondary bathrooms. I would not recommend them on any higher end boutique plumbing fixture installations

Black Cat Plumbing Inc
Matt B. from Black Cat called to advise me that he would be a few minutes late, and arrived only 15 minutes past the original scheduled time. I chose Black Cat over two other plumbing companies since their bid and approach to the job was the most reasonable, and the price was right. The job involved removing an old huge cement double laundry sink, providing a new one along with new fixtures, and updating the plumbing pipes. Black Cat was the only company of the three who gave me estimates that suggested I hire a handyman to remove the old cement tub since it would save considerable money. I did that and paid $50 for the service, so my fee to Black Cat was much less than the other estimates. Matt totally explained every phase of the job which went like clockwork until he discovered that the drain to basement was clogged. He suggested a drain company, but immediately agreed to try the snake I happened to have on hand. He was able to open the drain a bit, but advised I call the drain company since it was draining slowly. He also informed me that it is best with any drain in the house when discarding liquid with bits and pieces in it to use the toilet since that pipe to the sewer is so much larger. My entire garage floor was cleaner after Matt left than it's been in a long time! He was congenial, answered all my questions completely and patiently, and did an excellent job. I would hire this company again without seeking other estimates

Goodson Construction & Remodel Inc
Paul Goodson did an outstanding job with this remodel. He is a craftsman and even though the job involved several unseen obstacles he put in the extra time required to make sure everything looked perfect when he was done. He is very easy to work with and cleaned up the work area every night before going home. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a quality tile job

George Morlan Plumbing Supply
When the contractor went to pick up our order, it was not available. This caused a delay in the work. Then the wrong fixture was delivered, and they said we would have to work this out with the manufacturer! Finally, after much effort on our part, we were able to get some help in correcting the order. The sales person said that our order had been ready in the warehouse, but if they couldn't deliver, then that was no use to us

American Plumbing Services LP
I purchased a new utility sink and cabinet. American Plumbing moved the outlets from a high location to a lower location and installed the plumbing fixtures in the new sink cabinet to fit the outlets. The job required custom fitting to make all the units were compatible. they also removed the old cast iron sink and fittings. The job was well done and the new cabinet works very well with our washing machine drain

EXCELLENCE PLUMBING, LLC
Excellent service and quality. Very professional and friendly team. Helped us out a lot as we originally had the wrong type of shower control - called to the local plumbing store to help us make sure we obtained the correct version.

Pipeline Plumbing & Drains
excellent. The folks are great to work with. I was traveling a lot and they worked around my schedule. They were very pleasant and professional. Their quality was exceptional and they ended up doing more work than the bid because of some mistakes I made picking out the plumbing fixtures.

Design Doctors Construction LLC
The project took a little longer than expected due to weather delays but the end result was outstanding. Nick was very helpful and patient with us on the selection of tile, plumbing fixtures, and the shower design. During the bid process, we changed the specs several times and Nick was very prompt in providing several updated bids. We are very pleased with the final result. The design, workmanship of the tile shower, and attention to detail was truly outstanding! Jared and his installation crew did a terrific job in designing and building the tile shower. The tile work and quartz countertops look great and all components were installed with care in a professional manner

C's Home Remodel & Repair
Found Glen Seay on Angie's List. I called several companies, but he lived the closest and was prompt to return my call and prompt to review the work. Glen felt that he may be able to offer us a the best price if we provided materials and he worked by the hour. I was surprised at his reasonable rate. Glen is a respectful and courteous individual and is quite accommodating to needs. He had many ideas for our project and exuded the confidence we needed to embark on this project. He was ALWAYS on time, always prepared with drop cloths and always cleaned up every day. The removal of the existing fiberglass enclosure and sliding door was quick and Glen offered to haul away the debris if we needed that done too. We provided almost all of the materials (at his recommendation) and Glen worked diligently. There were no issues that came up that Glen couldn't address - including the rupture of an unexpected pipe behind the wall. Glen just took care of it. As the travertine tiles (natural stone) were set, there was a bit of settling which required replacement of a few pieces. That was never an issue - we just asked - and Glen took care of it. Glen used a new type of epoxy grout on the travertine, so he suggested we seal the travertine prior to grouting. We were happy to get involved. I'm glad we did, as this new grout was extremely sticky and difficult to work with. I called the manufacturer and learned of a way to remove the dried on material. My wife and I will be happy to handle that part of the finish work. I am VERY pleased with Glens work and his good nature. His skill goes way beyond this job and we will definitely have him help us with taking out a window and installing a French Door this summer. I have recommended him to many of our neighbors. His wife actually joined him for a few days to cut tiles. The both of them are very nice. Our new shower door was special order - and the company we ordered it from provides installation. Photos of the project will be forthcoming

Metropolitan Construction & Remodeling Inc
Honest, professional, friendly, and detail oriented. Dan Stuper and his crew at Metro Construction were a great choice for our bathroom remodel. Dan is one of those guys you simply know the moment you meet him you are in good hands. He showed up on time and gave us a quote, which by the way, he didn't go over. He kept us in the loop from start to finish with a realistic time line. He contracted with specialists who each did outstanding jobs. At one point he noticed he did not bid putting in a heating duct so rather than charge us he simply put one in for free. We also had him install a new front door. The supply house made an error with a shelf on the door. Dan had his crew come back and fixed it for free. If you are thinking about a remodel, Dan is your man! Great work, fair price, pleasure to work with

SHAWNZ' PLUMBING LLC
Shawn had his hands full with repairing the damage that was done to a foreclosed home we purchased. He came in & looked at everything; giving us a written estimate & listing priorities, if we couldn't take care of everything at once. He was 100% professional, prompt, cheerful (the motto alone should tell you, this is a company with personality & humor) & courteous - even my dog liked him (and the rubber ducky he brought)! Although completing this project took several trips to the house on Shawn's part (due to other work being done), he finished everything in a timely manner (even ahead of the estimated schedule, I think) & even gave us the name of a very reputable drywall person to make it look like they never had to tear into the wall! He made certain that all the exposed pipes he could access were insulated, which required him to crawl under the house through a small crawl space. It was cold, dark & had previously had mice in there, but Shawn had no problem - he just got the job done. He replaced damaged plumbing fixtures & even repaired the damage done by the water leaks; saving us a lot of time & aggravation trying to take care of that job ourselves or find someone else to do it. He removed our old dishwasher & stove, both over 20 years old (& looking every bit their age), setting them aside so that they could be properly recycled when the new ones were delivered. He then installed the new dishwasher & stove; which work like a dream. When the new floors were put in & the floorers removed the kick plate & couldn't get it back on, Shawn had no problem reattaching it the next time we had to call him out for another plumbing issue with this house. We have used ShawnZ Plumbing several times, & will continue to use Shawn for all our plumbing needs. When we remodel our bathrooms, you can bet Shawn will be the only plumber we will call for the job. You know that you are truly pleased with a service performed when you recommend that provider to your family & friends. We have done just that with Shawn and ShawnZ Plumbing
Anton was a replacement plumber through our contractor, Hayes Brother's Construction, after the previous plumber didn't work out. He is wonderful. He found problems left by the former subcontractor and fixed them before we had a huge issue in our newly remodeled basement. He has been in and out of our home for a few weeks and is always on time, extremely knowledgeable in his field. and is wonderfully easy to work with. He even directed the crew in getting our new cast-iron tub up our tiny stairs and safely into the bathroom. We will definitely hire him again as a plumbing contractor as the need occurs and will recommend him to our neighbors and friends
Purchased a new dishwasher and new gas range from Lowes, which delivered the units and offered free install. Past experience with large box stores is that their free installation services are pretty limited, and they generally will not do anything that requires plumbing or any carpentry. I was willing to pay extra to get the appliances installed properly and with only one service call. I went with Portland Installation after review on Angie's List, as I wanted the appliances installed upon delivery with no need to call for additional services. I arranged the Portland Installation appointment for the same day that Lowes delivered, and they responded promptly, even before Lowes had left. Lowes was kind enough to wait while PI unhooked the old units and they hauled those away. The PI tech quickly and efficiently installed both the gas range and the dishwasher with minor plumbing and carpentry adjustments, and gave me a good block of instructions on how best to utilize and maintain the appliances. Very polite, professional, and efficient. I would use their service again, and would recommend it to friends
Fantastic? Leadership starts at the top with Owners Eric, Sheri and Gena. They are informative and hardworking people who get it done and efficiently. Your time matters to them and their customer service was second to none. They don't try and sell you on the most expensive and explain the differences between price, quality, features without bias. Their employees who installed the unit were professional and courteous and made sure you had your fireplace installed exactly as required. It's a family and friends run business that won't let you down
A-1 installations promptly called us the next day after we purchased the dishwasher and scheduled the installation for the following week. As described above, everything went almost according to plan, and the installer was prepared for the minor problem found. Excellent experience.
Armadas Exteriors did a fabulous job installing a new roof, gutters and downspouts on my home. They also installed a new skylight. All of the work and products have been first rate. The service at Armadas Exteriors is top notch. The owner oversaw the bid, installation and promptly answered any questions I had. All persons from the owner to the installers were friendly and professional. Care was taken to make sure all debris was picked up and landscaping left undisturbed. I am very pleased with the quality of the products used and the service at Armadas, which was timely from start to finish
Extract Away once again worked miracles! Tim was able to remove all the stains, even the ones I thought were hopeless. He also did a quick repair on the vinyl sheet flooring of one side. Thank you Tim!
Cody V. was very knowledgeable and a good communicator. He inspected all the plumbing in the house, repaired the plumbing leak under the house, installed a water line to my refrigerator, replaced old washer intake hoses, a toilet seat and installed a new shower head. One of his colleagues, Randy, came and helped him by installing a missing pressure relief pipe (or something like that) on the water heater. They also showed me where and how to turn the water off and on at the main
From the initial meeting and measuring, Brad and Jo were very helpful. There was a bit of a mix up in the initial measurements and Brad took full responsibility with no excuses and made things right. It's great to deal with honest folks. The job tuned out beautifully and has transformed our kitchen. Will make it easier to access the contents of our cabinets. Very professional and great folks to work with
Hedgehog Home Services is the handyman company I've been wishing for! Great communication, prompt, polite, well priced and with exemplary skills! We are beyond happy with all of the jobs they have done for us as we get our house ready you sell. We will be using them again in the future! I've actually joked that I'd like a cottage at the bottom of our yard, so Gavin and Spencer can live there and help me with all of the things all of the time
Fred has helped on a number of projects at our home over the last couple of years. He assisted building a potting cottage for my wife, helped install new lighting and a ceiling fan in our guest room in addition to installing a new attic access stair in our garage. All work was done a a professional and timely manner and his hourly rate was more than fair and well earned
Ralph and his team are true professionals. We needed a full interior remodel and him and his crew were the best decision I made. I had a strict budget and needed it done as fast as possible. Ralph took this into consideration and did everything he could to take this into account while also making sure that he wasnt cutting corners. I also felt safe and secure with the team as they were always professional, respectful, and communicative. The actual job done was amazing. I needed hole repairs, plumbing, electrical, cabinet/flooring removal and installation, painting, and window replacements. They got everything done! I believe I made the best decision by hiring PDX Top Finishes
It turned out that replacing our doors was a little tricky due to some non-standard dimensions of our house, but Ben and Chuck and their crew worked through all of it until the installation was completely dialed-in. We really appreciate them seeing it through all the way to the finish.
Jeremiah at J&M was exceptional. He was patient with my questions, quick to return calls, flexible with my scheduling, and (most importantly) thorough and professional with the gas piping we needed done. He explained his estimate and did as much as he could to save us money on the job. Even after the job was completed, he helped me out with the gas company to make sure things went smoothly. At first I was concerned that his quote was half that of other plumbers I called, but based on the reviews here, I went with him and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and his crew to anyone needing plumbing work

What do customers in Portland say about Plumbing Fixtures Installation?
I called American due to the reviews here on Angie's list, an made an appointment. I really didn't know how to tell them what I needed done, since it was something you needed to see to determine the extent of the job. Luckily, I got Jason promptly on time and smiling at my door. He asked what it was and I showed him what I needed. He took one look and said, it would take 2 visits. I agreed and let him know of the time limit I had because, I was going to have a pretty large surgery soon, and needed the shower up and running in just a few days. He was so sweet! So absolutely kind , and wonderful in every way! I cannot stop gushing about him. My husband and I found him to be one of those people that instantly makes you feel like someone whom you've known forever, and would help you in every way they could. Not only did he do a great job but, he made sure that he would fit us in early so we could make our deadline! Now, I am home from surgery, the tiling is done and I have the most beautiful shower in the world! Kudos to you at American! You are all so great! (Thanks for the card!)
