Reviews in Portland for Cabinet Hardware Installation

Lamont Bros.

Excellent !. Daniel Birch, Lamont Brothers designer, worked with us to start with to draw up plans of what we wanted to do, get permitting, select cabinets, sinks, toilet, lighting and all cabinet hardware and get it ordered Then, when the time came for our project to done, he handed us over to Aaron Davenport, our construction superintendent, who guided us through the actual work to be done. All work was done very well, on time, and the leak issue was corrected to our satisfaction. The whole job took just a little over 3 weeks to complete. We are VERY pleased with the work and the overall project. !!!

TJ was very good at listening to what we wanted. We had many little details that we wanted right and he made careful notes and completed each task to our satisfaction. He was very busy (as good contractors are), but he was honest, and punctual with his schedule and for the most part did everything on time and completed the job when he said he would. He was not a high pressure salesman, and never pushed us to take on more scope/cost than what we wanted, but he did suggest good ideas and some of them ended up being in the final design. He was respectful of our house and took care when he was there. While his primary skill is painting cabinets and backsplashes, he was able to do an excellent job at cabinet modifications, and moldings. We are thrilled with how our kitchen looks now and we felt the price was very fair for the amount of work involved. TJ ended up not being 100% satisfied with some of the hinges (existing), so he upgraded some hinges/sliders for free, just because he wanted us happy. I would definitely hire TJ again, and would recommend him to close friends/family, as well as the general community.

We are very pleased the project. Our original cabinets were mounted with a 4" gap between the cabinets and the ceilings. Cabinet Cures added crown molding and under counter molding. The new doors have a rich cherry color with a black glaze which give them a very high end look. Cabinet cures recommend a "partner" Custom Stone Creation for the new granite counter tops we installed. They not only reommended this firm, but offered corrdination with the cabinet installers to keep the construction period as short as possitble. CSC's quote was comparable to another vendor we had considered. However, the coordination of workmen convinced us to use this vendor. We were happy with the choice qalso. Cabinet Cures employees consulted us when choices were needed and took such pride in their work. They started on the date they committed, and completed on schedule. Cabomet Cure's employees were skilled craftsmen, who took personal pride in the work they completed. While I don't think there is anyway to do this project with out major disruption to your lifestyle, Cabinet Cures was very careful to cover carpet in ajoining areas, and clean up the work area each evening.

Trail Blazing Corporation

I am a landlord and had a bad experience with a tenant who did a large amount of damage to my rental property. I called 10 general contractors in the Portland area and was very disappointed by the lack of professionalism of many of the companies (half of them did not even return phone calls). After working through an extensive review process, I chose to work with Trial Blazing Corporation. Trail Blazing Corporation was professional, flexible, results oriented and competitively priced. Paul, the owner of the company and project manager was highly responsive, courteous and a wealth of knowledge on home improvement. Paul’s guidance throughout the process was very valuable to help me understand how to achieve my objective and maximize results within my budget. I had a lot of questions throughout the process and Paul was available and responsive each day. Paul provided email or phone updates each day and gathered my input or decision when necessary. Summary of work completed: and middot; Kitchen and powder bath floors removed and middot; New hardwood flooring in kitchen and powder bath and middot; Kitchen granite countertop repaired and middot; New kitchen appliances installed and middot; New carpet/pad throughout the home and middot; Heavy wall repair and new paint throughout the home and middot; New garage door installed and middot; New fire/carbon monoxide detectors installed and middot; Kitchen and bathroom cabinet hardware replaced and refinished/stained and middot; Toilets replaced and middot; Doors replaced and middot; Sink hardware replaced My property management company was so impressed with the results and the professionalism of Trail Blazing Corporation that they immediately decided to partner with Trail Blazing to be one of their preferred general contractors to work with moving forward. Overall, I could not be happier with the services provided by Trail Blazing Corporation and would absolutely work with Trail Blazing Corporation again. I highly recommend Trail Blazing Corporation.

In a single word - fantastic! We are totally pleased with how the kitchen renovation went. Stan and his team did a superb job. Everything was completed on schedule (4 weeks) with the highest level of quality and attention to detail. We had hired Superior Building Concepts to renovate our two upstairs bathrooms and were so pleased with the results that we decided to go ahead and have them do the kitchen as well. Stan handled every aspect of the project - all we had to do was go to his recommended suppliers and pick our choice of floor tile, granite for the counter-tops, back-splash tile, grout color, cabinet hardware, under-cabinet lighting and paint colors. Stan also arranged for design consultant Melody to come to discuss our new cabinets and take measurements. She then sent detailed wire-frame drawings for us to peruse before giving them the final go-ahead to build the cabinets. We picked our range, range hood, fridge, sink and faucet ourselves and Stan made sure installation of these items were done professionally, at the proper time and on schedule. In summary, Stan managed what was a very complex project to absolute perfection and the quality and attention to detail throughout the project was perfect in every way. We are completely overjoyed with our new kitchen and bathrooms and we highly recommend Stan to anyone wanting to tackle such projects with a high expectation for a superb outcome that occurs on schedule, incorporates exceptional quality, and is done at a fair price.

Our project started off on time, but it became apparent very quickly that they were not going to finish in 5 days. Day 1: 1 guy to prep and do the refacing. He worked very diligently, but I’m pretty sure he was new. Day 2: started with 1 guy, then another showed up later in the day. Day 3: Cancelled because something wasn’t ready. Day 4: I think 2-3 guys today. I could definitely tell this wasn’t going to be done Friday. Day 5: we must have had 6+ people trying to get the work done. It was chaotic. They stayed after 8pm before admitting the work would need to be finished later. At this point they packed everything up (including the cabinet knobs that were going to be reused). Over the next 2 weeks, the work was finished, with the exception of the pull out garbage can. The pull out garbage was not what we were expecting. We wanted a top mounted version and it ended up being a bottom mounted. Julia offered to get us the correct version at no cost to us. Unfortunately it was back ordered and she would reach out when it was shipped. 5 months later Julia called to let me know the insert was in and she could schedule someone to come out and install. I replied that any day but Friday would work... never heard back from her. The irritating thing about this was I ordered the same version of the "back ordered" garbage can insert from Home Depot back in August. It arrived in a few days, so I really felt like I was being lied to. In the end I suppose it worked out. We still owed $900 due upon completion of the project, but since the project was never completed, we never paid and have not heard from Cabinet Cures about it. I really wish things would have ended better as I would have liked to have had the same company reface our bathroom cabinets as well.

Alex is an artist and engineering genius. He is meticulous about every detail and extremely passionate about his work. He listens to your ideas and enhances 'your' dreams of the project. From the first time we met him, he was courteous, incredibly creative and very approachable. He was always timely and phoned if he was running late or needed to reschedule. He and his crew are a pleasure to have in our home. They asked if they could work late or on a weekend (to get the job done!). They always cleaned up after themselves. We were kept up to date on every small detail or change. They also coordinate with our other contractors (i.e. countertop fabricator, flooring, etc.) If there is anything you are not 100% happy with/or would like to change, Alex and his project-manager, Kirill, will strive to exceed your expectations. For example, if a door is not hanging perfectly, Alex and/or Kirill will typically spot it before you will and have it corrected promptly. Our cabinetry looks like high-end furniture with feet (this is an optional design element), glass doors, hand carved elements throughout-by their in-house artists (thank you Ed and Andre'). Our kitchen and additional china cabinets are honestly one-of-a-kind works of art. We considered other contractors for our project, but no other business came close to providing the level of quality, nor were they as devoted to making our dreams come true. Their estimate was at the top of our budget, but we actually got so much more additional cabinetry, lighting, hand carved details, we feel they are competitive in the high end market. We consider Alex (and his colleagues) the Michelangelo of cabinet making. Thank you Alex, Kirill, Bill, Johnny, Ed, Andre, and Slava (and anyone else we neglected to mention). We will post photos with an update when the project is complete.

Up to fifty different edge treatments are available to give your cabinets a truly custom appearance. Arch top, glass and specialty doors available with a wide choice of mounting configurations available including; overlay, flush, flush inset, pocket, and sliding. CABINET INTERIORS: Our most popular is white melamine, this bright, easy to maintain, durable material eliminates the need for using shelf paper. The core is commercial grade P-board, with a high pressure plastic laminated surface that is non-porous; resisting stains and mildew. Drawer boxes are given the same treatment. All cabinets are equipped with adjustable shelves. A more traditional and elegant cabinet interior is available using quality veneer plywood. We also offer solid wood dovetail drawer boxes at a small extra cost for more durability and aesthetics. CABINET FINISHES: All of our wood surfaces are sealed, sanded, and three coats of lacquer are applied for an incredibly good looking and durable finish that resists corrosion and mild abrasion. Your choice of natural wood, stained, glossy, dull, distressed, paint grade and glze can give your home that brand new look for many years to come. HARDWARE: European hardware components with lifetime warrantees are used for all drawer systems and most concealed hinges. We use six-way adjustable hinges so your doors may always look square and close correctly even as your new house settles. Face mounted hinges are available for more traditional looking cabinets. We offer specialty accessories including lazy suzans, pull out trash cans, tilt out sink trays and roll out shelving, along with many other custom items. INSTALLATION: Our cabinets are unique because they are one piece units that can span an entire length of a wall and fillers are built right in. This helps ensure that everything is plumb, level, straight and square. SERVICE: NW Caseworks is fully staffed for every aspect of cabinet work including repairing or removing little annoyances that may occur from time to time. We will visit your job site and help you determine a solution to any problems you might have, then measure for any desired accessories you may need, whether it is a custom application or pre-manufactured accessories. FIVE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY: The proprietors of NW Caseworks have been manufacturing cabinets for over 26 years, so you can be assured that we will be here years after to provide needed service.
