Reviews in Portland to Install Bath Exhaust Fan

Kurt and his apprentice installed the ceiling fan in the bed room with no problems at all. Efficient and looks and work great. The bathroom exhaust fan was a different matter. The existing fan was no longer available and the hole in the ceiling was bigger than most fans now available. Kurt said he would try to find a replacement fan that you fit the existing exhaust housing. Indeed he did" It took about a week but Kurt came back and installed the fan part in the exhaust housing and the thing works great. He saved us money and time and mess by not having to do sheet rock work on the ceiling. A great job by an innovative and professional.

I called Winner Electric and Jack came out within two days to look at the work that needed to be done. I had told him that another contractor had said that installing a bathroom ceiling fan might be a problem in our bathroom. Jack came out and said it would be no problem and the work was scheduled w/in three days. However, when they went to do the work-there was a problem and a ceiling fan couldn't be installed. I was a little upset by this. They told me to get a wall mounted fan and then quickly rescheduled the work (which I was very appreciative of because we were in a hurry). Besides the initial problem/misinformation, our experience with them was great. Extremely easy to reach and very helpful on the phone. The fan works great! I am only giving them a "B" in professionalism because I feel they should send someone out who can actually tell you if the work can be done to avoid having to reschedule.

Installed new box in ceiling and switch in wall. Mounted ceiling fan. Cost exceeded the coupon as they charged a permit fee. For some reason this outfit keeps charging permit fees. I had called them later about replacing a bathroom fan and they again mentioned a charge for a permit fee. Called another electrician and was told there was no need to file a permit to install a ceiling fan or replace a bathroom exhaust fan.

DREW BARRIOS REPAIR AND REMODELING

Of 3 companies who came to give an estimate on the installation of the range hood and the ducting of my bathroom fans, Drew was the only one to crawl into my attic to evaluate the scope of my project, and his bid was less than the others. Drew and his helper David were prompt, very polite and very knowledgeable about how the unit needed to be installed. The installation required that a precise hole be cut in the bottom of the cabinet above my stove, and the main body of the hood had to be inserted through it into the cabinet and be secured. This was very tricky as the cabinet was already mounted to the wall. He called each morning of the 2 day project to let me know he was on the way, and kept me informed of the progress throughout the day. Drew and David did a great job of cleaning up the work area at the end of each day. I'm very pleased with the range hood installation and bath fan ducting. Drew also gave me a "senior discount" which lowered the original estimate even more.

I called Bentley Electric to finish installing a ceiling fan after a handyman I'd hired to do work around the house got in over his head and was unable to complete the job. John, the electrician who came to do the install was very polite and professional. While the install didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked (due to defects in the fan I'd purchased) I was not charged more than the original quote (which was very reasonable). John really went the extra mile to ensure that I was happy with the finished product. I would use Bentley Electric again in a heartbeat.

I was kept informed throughout scheduling and the job. First trip installed fan and new outlet and checked for required parts for generator install. Quote for generator was as expected. Both sets of service people were very nice and friendly. The scheduler was super nice and kept me informed.

I purchased a coupon through Angie's list for both a ultra-quiet bathroom exhaust fan and a cadet wall heater installations. Unfortunately, when the electrician arrived, he determined that he couldn't install either item due to inadequate depth in bathroom ceiling and complex wiring needs where cadet was to be placed. I called Angie's List and they refunded me the full price of the coupon.

Jay is amazing. We'd worked with him before on replacing exhaust fans in both of our bathrooms, and he did such good work, we had him back to look into a ceiling fan that was scarily separating from the ceiling in our kitchen. Jay was able to see to it right away. He thoroughly investigated the problem, including crawling through the loose insulation in an attic space, then set about sourcing the correct materials and fixing the problem. He even went so far as to fix a broken decorative fan part using a very MacGuyver-esque solution - bonus! He is punctual, professional, detail-oriented, thorough, and a super nice guy. I will continue to hire him for all sorts of work around our home.

I had a bath exhaust fan/iight housing installed several months ago. Uriel was very friendly and was working hard to finish the work as fast as he could because he encountered some electrical surprises along the way when installing two sconce lights that ate up valuable time. I think he came later than expected but I can't remember what window of time I was given to begin with so I can't say for sure. Because neither of us had time, I told him I was fine installing the lighting unit and trim to the bath fan. The ceiling mount for the old light fixture was apparently thrown away, I assume it was an accident since Urial didn't throw away the rest of the fixture but I had planned on selling it. That wasn't a big deal but something I would have preferred not to happen. Now that I finally got around to putting up the trim and light, I can't because the housing was not installed flush with the ceiling and the dowel that connects the trim and glass dome to the unit is not long enough. The instructions said the fan should be installed flush with the finished ceiling. I called RK today and spoke with a manager. He said they could come out and make it work somehow but the minimum was a $130.00 for the call. What I'm upset about is that the housing wasn't installed flush to begin with nor did Uriel tell me that he tried to install it flush but due to a particular reason he couldn't. I wish that I had taken the time to read the instructions and asked questions along the way when the work deviated but I thought I could trust a professional to get it done right or tell me if there were issues. The bottom line is that I can't do the final step which should have been a cinch because the housing is sitting on top of the ceiling and I can't afford another $130.00. The manager assured me that Uriel is great and if he didn't install it flush there must have been a reason. I believe that should have been explained to me when it was installed and so now I'm left wondering what is going on in my ceiling and how to make it work. There were no concessions offered by the manager to even have someone come out and take a look or if it was a quck fix to charge less.

My husband writes: Dino arrived on time. He was friendly and very professional, and he asked what I thought were good diagnostic questions. He then got to work and I got out of his way. I stopped by periodically to see how he was doing and he seemed happy to fill me in. He did a good job explaining the issues he found, and I felt well informed about what he was doing. When he was done, we tested the exhaust fan and, after it had been on a few seconds, a rattling sound started up. I thought it was no big deal, but Dino said he didn't want to leave it like that. He examined the fan again and found a minor issue he was able to fix quickly. The work resulted in some drywall dust falling on the floor, but we'd left our vacuum cleaner in the hallway and Dino took the initiative to go ahead and use that to clean up. When he was done, we had a nice exhaust fan and our hallway lights now work perfectly. We're very happy with RK Electric and we now have an electrician that we plan to stick with.

I had bought a Big Deal coupon for Replacement Installation of Ceiling Fan or Light Fixture (Labor ONLY) for $99 but I wanted to replace a light fixture with a ceiling fan so I ended up not being able to us it. Holly contacted me and explained that the deal is for replacing a ceiling fan with another ceiling fan or a light fixture with another light fixture. Holly did a great job explaining to me what is involved with replacing a light fixture with a ceiling fan.

Kenny & Travis did a great job. They were 15 minutes early, did the work as needed and even found a can light in the ceiling of our bonus room the builder had forgotten to install; so they cut a hole in the drywall and installed that as well. Also answered some questions regarding other work we need done in the future. Won't hesitate to call them and schedule the next round of work.

Recent Review: Callahan came first as a recommendation on Next Door and then I looked them up here - all A ratings. With that I called and Steve made an appointment to come out a few days later. It was a short visit as this was a very straightforward job and later that afternoon he emailed the quote over. About a week later Pete and Tyler showed up in the agreed upon window and efficiently installed the two ceiling fans. Steve would definitely be a first call for any future electrical work we need done. Professional, communicative and responsive.

Recent Review: American Electric was responsive to my phone calls, showed up on time, located the break with special equipment, and repaired it. I'm happy. The damage was caused by gophers. And the cost of the repair was reasonable compared to the cost of replacing 600 ft of buried cable.

Recent Review: “Stan was excellent - He quickly figured out my disconnected neutral issue and repaired to code. The second project (ceiling fan install in gazebo) required more work than could be done. Stan worked on installing a ceiling fan for my daughter. He was professional, polite and completely explained issues to me, and answered all my questions! Thank you! BTW - I would still be interested in having the gazebo ceiling fan installed, but it requires minor woodwork.”
