Recent Review: The serviceman arrived early. I advised him of the problem and he immediately started to work. First cleaning the inside pipes of the house then the outside sewer. He had to snake a long way into the sewer.. The snake cut through the roots. When he pulled out the snake, there were a bunch of roots attached to the head of the snake. He then ran a camera down the pipes in the basement and then through the outside sewer all the time explaining what I was seeing. He said that he wanted to make sure that the pipe was cleaned. I asked him about the pipe liner and he explained the process to me. I believe that I may get that process done so I won't have any problems with roots entering the terra cotta pipes and needing to have the sewer cleaned. The serviceman was very knowledgeable about his job, very professional, very courteous and attentive to what I was asking him. He cleaned up the area and was on his way. All was done within an hour. Very good worker. I now know why Matt Mertz plumbing is an award winner on Angie's list. He and his crew have earned it and I would absolutely call him again for plumbing needs.

Recent Review: The initial call came within 30 minutes and the visit was within 2 hours of the original call. Workers wore their masks, were polite and competent. After snaking the drain they cleaned up most of the debris near the sewer and discussed how to prevent it from happening again. It was a positive experience and the cost was reasonable.

Recent Review: We solicited bids from a three contractors for converting a garage to an apartment for an elderly retiring pastor. Keeping costs down, while maintaining a beautiful result was essential. Milo's bid was over what we wanted to spend, but the lowest of the three. He agreed to take on the project and work to lower costs at all points, allowing us to do part of the work to save money. He wanted to help and this is what made us select him. Milo needed to bring in water, septic, electricity, and gas to the garage. He constructed walls for kitchen, bath, and bedroom. He did lighting, plumbing, heating, ac, drywall, built in bookshelves and bed. Basically, he created a complete house in miniature working from a very simple drawing (donated services!) by our architect (Mimi Jong of MLJ Architects--also fantastic!) Milo Services-- Milo, his father Clyde, and Billy Domhoff (electrician) created a first class team: incredibly friendly, a joy to greet each morning, excellent craftsmen. They worked seamlessly together helping each other out, creatively resolving unforeseen problems. We have worked with numerous contractors and have been burned by shoddy work, unethical behavior, nonpayment of subcontractors, etc. Finally, we have found the best. We only wish we could give Milo Services a higher rating!

Recent Review: Nathan went above and beyond to get us set up with a video camera test within our very short timeline of 2 days, despite their full schedule, on a house which we were under contract to purchase. They arranged a specific time, rather than a window (like most) and when traffic had them running behind called to let me know, even though it turned out to be less than 10 minutes. The testing was done quickly and efficiently and within the hour we knew that there were several issues with the sewer pipe that would have to be corrected. Their combined responsiveness, inexpensive testing service and expertise is saving us a mountain of money that we would have had to shell out shortly after moving in. Hoping to convince the seller to have them do the work, as I expect it would be done well, and the estimate seemed fair given the extent of issues.

Recent Review: For services performed 06/11/2020. Let me begin by saying I never write reviews but felt compelled to write this one. I usually do all my own plumbing and have cleaned out & snaked sewers several times because I could only find one plumber whose work and prices I trusted and he died 20 years ago. Our basement laundry floor drains were getting slow because the last time I cleaned them was in 2005. I did not have the time, inclination, or a truck to pick up an auger so decided I would give Angie's List members a try. On 06/09/2020, I sent requests to four (4) of their top rated sewer cleaning specialists but did not hear from 2, and heard from a third one weeks later. Bucci & Son were my last choice and added as a just in case after-thought. I cannot state how glad I am that I included them in my requests. Bob, the owner of Bucci & Son called me and left a message that same day stating they could take care of it on my time schedule. I did not return his call until early 06/11/2020. Bob quoted me a price that was more than fair and reasonable. I was apprehensive because the last plumber I paid to perform this on one of my rentals because it was an emergency quoted a price but it changed mid-job and he really stuck it to me. Bob sent his son & a helper out that afternoon to snake and hydro-wash the basement drains. To put it simply, they were courteous, quick, efficient, performed all the services I requested, answered all my questions, and did everything short of running a camera to demonstrate the cleaning was fully successful. They did not make a mess and cleaned up after themselves. I was so pleased with their work on the sewer that I discussed having them do work I wanted performed in the fall on my furnace boiler (I am highly displeased with the last "boiler expert" that worked on it.) I do think I have found a plumber again whose work and pricing I can trust. Interesting coincidence is the last one was also named Bob.

Recent Review: The main sewer drainof my rental property was clogged. When the plumbers arrived I told him the sewer lines had all been replaced less than 10 years ago. The plumbers examined everything and discussed options with me. He felt the septic system was full, and might be causing the problem. He told me cabling the line may not solve the problem. I told him I would like him to clean the drain anyway. He explained all the pricing to me, making sure I knew exactly what the costs would be. They were very polite and thorough. He didn't want to go ahead without making sure I understood that it may not resolve the issue. He agreed to run a cable through the line to the tank.They cabled the sewer line from the house to the septic tank. He told me he hit a clog near the house and pushed all the way to the tank. He ran water and all the drains worked perfectly. Our problem was solved. I appreciated their honesty and attitude. I will call them for any future plumbing needs.

Recent Review: Provider came and completed the service. Initially they did not have a camera to show me the line, but they agreed to return at a later date and complete that service. It took a while, but we were able to setup a date and they took care of it as well.

Recent Review: I had a sewer drain backup on a Sunday. I called A-1 on Monday, and they were able to provide same day service. The service was prompt (they arrived at my home before I got there!) and efficient (about 30 mins start to finish). They were able to remove some tree roots from my drain, and answered all of my questions. Clean-up could have been a little better - a pile of roots were left on my laundry room floor. I would definitely use their service again.
