Job was only partially completed. One toilet was fixed but two toilets were not The plumber asked me for a ''clothes hanger'' while at my house as his ''tool'' to fix the two toilets, which didn't work so he then told me I had to buy two new toilets because the 15 year old toilets were unfixable. In my opinion this recommendation sounded like INCOMPETENCE, so I declined and he left my house with the two toilets not properly flushing. The toilets have since been fixed without the need and costs for two new toilets, and NONE of my $359.50 payment to this plumber was ever returned. Nor did he ever send me a copy of his paper invoice as he promised he would, telling me he changed his mind about providing me with the invoice copy. You can't get more petty than that. So now I'm out his total price of $359.50 for only a partial completion of the job.

What a great experience. We had a handyman over to fix a small plumbing problem with two of our toilets. The next day, I walked out and noticed water dripping from the ceiling in the garage. We called Rezzetano Plumbing on a Saturday afternoon and he came right over. He quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it and gave me some good advice concerning handymen and plumbing. Plus, the price was right. If you have a plumbing issue, call this guy! Prompt, professional, courteous, knowledgeable and skilled.

First time using Mertz plumbing. They were able to schedule me in quickly and were punctual in arriving at the time they stated. The plumber "Jack" was professional and knowledgeable about the problem. He was able to fix the problem and explained the reason for the problem. Would use them again if any other problems arose. Price was to going rate for plumbing services, except they don't charge for travel time as some other plumbers in the area do.

I called them to do the work described above at my mom's house. They came out to review the tasks within a couple of hours. They checked out the toilets and worked with my mom to see how she wanted the bars installed in keeping with best practices. They were prompt and very courteous. They did great work. They installed two new toilets and determined nothing was wrong with the third one. I highly recommend them. Thanks Chris and your team.

I didn't find this company on Angie's list as they are in my neighborhood. I thought they only did larger jobs until I visited the showroom and the very nice women at the counter were very helpful with a do-it-yourself project and then helped me identify what I needed for a Kohler product indicating that I could contact koehler and get part under warranty and if I thought it to be too much of a job they could do it. I scheduled the early appointment - they were very accommodating- and John arrived on time. John was super helpful, got the job done asked if I had any other needs, which he helped with and I was very pleased with the reasonable price. I've had other professionals here that would only do what was contracted and wanted more $$. John is a great ambassador for this family run business - he was very thorough and cleaned up along the way and answered all of my questions in a genuinely thoughtful way- as he appreciated working for them and was willing to go extra mile to build their business without trying to sell another service. Any other plumbing issues, they will be first on my list to call. Great work !

Used a Angie's List "big deal" $100 for first 2 hours of service. Called to inquire about work. They stated it would easy fit within 2 hours of work. Upon hearing we had the Angie's List deal, they backtracked and stated it would likely take more than 2 hours and we should be prepared to pay extra. Went 30min over and charged $200 for the extra 30 minutes (plus parts, of which we mostly already had on hand). I would only consider working with them again if I could get a better idea of pricing prior to their arrival. I understand there are unexpected variables that cannot be anticipated in advance. However, I feel the integrity of this company is suspect given my experience.

Tough post. We didn't think highly of the first person that came. The experience was not good. However, after contacting the owner, he showed a significant interest in making things right. He came out personally, adjusted the prices in line with what we both agreed was fair, and fixed the things the first man was unable to fix. If you can get the owner, I recommend. If you can't ... well I would only put them on par with anyone else out there. Hard to replace passion and wisdom.

Toilet was constantly running and the pump mechanism needed to be replaced. Frank diagnosed the issue, had the parts, and fixed quickly. I also had him look at an issue related to a slow draining tub and we discussed some non-invasive options to try. Frank is always personable and professional.

I noticed what looked like water damage in the ceiling of my kitchen. When I looked in my attic's crawlspace, it seemed that a pipe to or from the upstairs bathroom had leaked. I also had some minor issues with my downstairs toilet (took forever to fill and the tank seemed to be loose / leaning into the wall). The first plumber (another plumber) that I called charged me $85 just to come look at the problems and tell me what needed to be done / how much it would cost. They told me that the cost of labor for fixing the toilet was $135 so I might as well replace it because the cost of labor to replace it was only $15 more ($150) and the toilet looked like it was on its last legs, they were surprised it wasn't leaking, etc. I estimated that a good toilet would cost me $150-$200 on top of labor. They looked at the attic and said they couldn't find the leak there. Consequently, they would have to open up my kitchen wall to see what was going on and repair the pipe. That would take at least 4-5 hours, so the cost would be $400-$500 dollars. (The work to repair and paint the wall would not be included and I'd have to either do it myself or pay someone else.) So I was looking at a total of up to $850 ($925 including the $85 fee) for both jobs, not including the cost of fixing my kitchen wall. They also mentioned that if they found that the pipe had problems going down into the basement, we might have to open up the basement ceiling to fix it. (Although upon inspection of the basement they said that they didn't see evidence of water damage / leaking.) I paid the $85 and got a second opinion with Davey plumbing. Mr. Davey came to assess the situation and give me a quote for how much it would cost, free of charge. He told me that my toilet could easily be fixed (both the leaning issues and the filling issue) and did not need to be replaced, and that I was unlikely to find a new toilet with a large enough base to cover the same area on the floor as the old toilet, which could lead to aesthetic issues. He estimated that it would take no longer than an hour to fix, costing about $125. He then went up to the attic and looked at the same pipe. When he couldn't find the leak in the area the first plumber had looked, he said he was almost sure the leak had to be coming from above given the nature of the water damage in the kitchen ceiling and asked if he could remove some insulation in another nearby area that the other plumber had not looked at. He found the leak, which had been caused by an improper repair that had happened some time in the past (probably to fix a burst pipe). He estimated that it would cost about $125 to properly repair the pipe. Total estimated cost for both jobs: $250. I scheduled a time for Davey Plumbing to come do the work. The plumber who arrived was very courteous and cleaned up after himself. Both jobs took him a total of about an hour, so I only ended up paying a total of $140 for parts and labor for both jobs. So far we've been very pleased with the results of the work -- no more issues with the toilet and the upstairs pipe does not appear to be leaking anymore. We are very pleased that we didn't have to go through all the additional headache of opening up our kitchen wall and pay an additional $850+ costs / hassle of fixing wall to try to fix the exact same problem. I will definitely call Davey Plumbing again in the future.

The plumber arrived early (he called ahead to let me know) and, after looking at our plumbing a few times, suggested pulling our toilet up to replace the seal as a possible solution for the sewer odor that kept permeating our main floor bathroom. He proposed this as a less expensive option than checking for and possibly repairing a cracked vent. He also took time to explain how our plumbing was set up and showed me what was what - very helpful. We decided to go ahead with the toilet seal repair, which he did quickly for a reasonable price and we've been odor-free for two weeks!

Recent Review: Ben contacted me right away and gave me UP FRONT PRICING! He told me it would be $145 per toilet. He gave me a time for the next day and was prompt and polite- wearing a mask and shoe covers due to COVID-19. He completely rebuild our oldest toilet including a new handle. The second toilet needed minor fixes and a new ring. He did the work and then told me he wouldn't charge me for that. I paid him $200 because I thought that was fair for fixing two toilets. I appreciated his HONESTY - no "diagnostic" charge, no "needing to get parts" etc. etc. He was done in one hour. WILL USE AGAIN!

Recent Review: All three of our toilets have been flushing slower, clogging all the time, even just flushing down some toilet paper. Service tech Chris Provenzo came out on day scheduled, though he was about 4 hours behind schedule. The dispatcher called several times during the day to update his arrival time. Chris examined the toilets, and gave me an honest assessment, that auguring probably wouldn't help much. He provided a ballpark figure (about $1300) to replace all three toilets, so I decided to go with auguring for now. He was done in about half an hour. Professional and courteous. Satisfied overall.

Recent Review: Last Summer, I called a few places to have my pool deck stained, as it was 2 years old and the pressure treated wood had turned considerably greyer than when the deck was new. Mike was referred to me by a co-worker of mine. He lives in the same area as I do. I asked Mike to come over and provide an estimate for my job. The initial estimate cost was $825 (which included power wash and 2 gallons of stain as well as Labor), and I figured that that was a great price at almost half the price of my next lowest estimate. I agreed to have Mike begin work on my deck. He started my job when he said he would, even though he had other jobs going on at the same time as mine. The first day, he power-washed half of my deck. I saw the difference in the wood immediately. He came back the following day to finish power washing the other half of the deck. We waited about a week, and Mike came back. This gave the wood the opportunity to "dry out" to the point where it would be able to accept stain for the first time. My wife and I picked Behr Natural Number 500 Deck Stain to use on our deck. Mike even went to Home Depot to buy 2 gallons, per the initial quote. Mike began getting to work. As the job progressed, it became clear that the first 2 gallons were not enough for the job. Mike had to make 3 more trips to Home Depot to pick up an additional 5 gallons of stain (7 in total). He applied 2 total coats of stain to the deck boards and railings and 1 thick coat on the spindles, rolling on and back brushing my entire deck... BY HAND. In total, the job took Mike about 40 hours worth of work by himself. If I am able to provide pictures with this review, I can prove his work is spectacular. After all of his additional work and extra special attention to detail, I decided to give him $1,050 for the work and $50 towards taking his wife out to dinner for working late on so many occasions... just to get my job done. I should have paid him more. I know I would not have received the same level of service or quality of workmanship anywhere else. If you have any painting or staining work, give Mike a call. You wont be sorry. I promise you.

What do customers in Pittsburgh say about Repair Toilet?

We had some drainage problems coming from the "polar vortex" and also had a toilet that I could not get to stop draining. They did a good job of investigating the drain problem and easily fixed the toilet. Very problem, professional, and friendly.
