Left three messages for this company to request information and rates on pool opening and closing. They never returned my phone calls. I find this very unprofessional, therefore I would not recommend them.

Salesperson was high pressure and rude. Tried to sell me a new swimming pool- was disinterested in helping me once he realized I just needed a liner. I asked about prices and he said he didn't want to check what he had in stock unless I was going to buy it. Never moved from his chair behind the desk. When I asked about books to help me learn about chemicals, he said "If you bought your pool here, we would help you learn." Perfect example of how commission based sales doesn't work for anyone!

I have used this service for the past two years. They installed our above ground swimming pool two summers ago (the only company we found that would install a used swimming pool). We have continued to use their expertise for water testing service, chemical adjustments and supplies. They tend to be a little expensive, but their advice is well worth it. They test water for free and make recommendations for what chemicals are needed. The staff are terrific! They are friendly and professional. As a first time pool owner, they provided a 45 minute one on one training about the chemicals as well as a free DVD to help with the task associated with pool maintenance. The staff answer questions on the phone all the time and always have good tips and ideas for problems associated with the pool/water. I prefer this location over other stores, but it is not convenient to my house. I often make a special trip to open and close the pool because I trust their consultations and advice.

The workers were fine, but the office staff was not. The construction was solid and it looks nice, but the finishing of the woodwork could have been a lot better.

Last Summer, I called a few places to have my pool deck stained, as it was 2 years old and the pressure treated wood had turned considerably greyer than when the deck was new. Mike was referred to me by a co-worker of mine. He lives in the same area as I do. I asked Mike to come over and provide an estimate for my job. The initial estimate cost was $825 (which included power wash and 2 gallons of stain as well as Labor), and I figured that that was a great price at almost half the price of my next lowest estimate. I agreed to have Mike begin work on my deck. He started my job when he said he would, even though he had other jobs going on at the same time as mine. The first day, he power-washed half of my deck. I saw the difference in the wood immediately. He came back the following day to finish power washing the other half of the deck. We waited about a week, and Mike came back. This gave the wood the opportunity to "dry out" to the point where it would be able to accept stain for the first time. My wife and I picked Behr Natural Number 500 Deck Stain to use on our deck. Mike even went to Home Depot to buy 2 gallons, per the initial quote. Mike began getting to work. As the job progressed, it became clear that the first 2 gallons were not enough for the job. Mike had to make 3 more trips to Home Depot to pick up an additional 5 gallons of stain (7 in total). He applied 2 total coats of stain to the deck boards and railings and 1 thick coat on the spindles, rolling on and back brushing my entire deck... BY HAND. In total, the job took Mike about 40 hours worth of work by himself. If I am able to provide pictures with this review, I can prove his work is spectacular. After all of his additional work and extra special attention to detail, I decided to give him $1,050 for the work and $50 towards taking his wife out to dinner for working late on so many occasions... just to get my job done. I should have paid him more. I know I would not have received the same level of service or quality of workmanship anywhere else. If you have any painting or staining work, give Mike a call. You wont be sorry. I promise you.

BIG DO - Know the electrical needed for a swimming pool is very important and hire the right person. BIG DON'T - Unless you are licensed for electrical and know what you're doing this is not a do it yourself project because of the water. DO - Listen to the men installing the pool they know what they are doing - they look very young, but they have 10 or more years of experience with pool installations. DO - Ask questions - no question is stupid - especially if you are a first time pool owner.

WORST customer service ever!!! Manager BRUCE & Owner ELLEN are rude, disrespectful, insulting & unprofessional, pool purchased (paid for) in 2020 for installation after April 2021, told to get site graded "so we don't hold up the installation", grading done mid-April 2021, still no MIKE, many many phone messages never returned, told at least six times he was coming but never showed, now mid-July, installation still not done, had to get site regraded & installed on our own w/ no help from pool company & no compensation for the aggravation they caused. They offered us chlorine in late June/early July. However we could not use it or didn't even have a pool to put it in. We just wanted our pool installed. Now that we have our pool up, with absolutely no help from King Cole, their words "the free chlorine offer is OFF the table." Their policy is we got your money, screw you! When I told Ellen that I would NEVER EVER recommend them, she told me "if they are anything like me,,,,,she doesn't want the referral" and she hung up on me. Very unprofessional and unethical.

Very slow process and lack of any customer service. First they wouldn't even come over and give us an estimate till after Memorial Day. Then ordering and installing was about another 35 days total. The guy they use for installation Noel, is almost impossible to deal with. He would tell us he was going to show up on a day and then No Show. Wouldn't notify us or anything that he wasn't coming. Instead he would pick a random day, call us and ask us where we were at? Noel gave us wrong filling instructions, after I repeated myself 3x's with him, which prolonged services even longer. After the liner was installed we had to have him come out again, because in 2 different spots the liner came off the newly installed track. It was the 3rd week in July till we could finally use our pool. And stupid me, called them to see if they would be able to close our pool? When asked by them when I would like to have it closed? I said, "Some time shortly after Labor Day?" His response "You and everyone else! We'll try to get to it by the end of September and have someone call you?" I understand that is a busy season for all pool services, but you don't respond that way to a customer requesting services. No that is okay, I will call someone else who would appreciate our business!!

Recent Review: My husband usually goes their and they test the spa water and actually take time out of the transaction to give me a call as I am not able to really get out of the house and they let me know over the phone what I should use and purchase for chemicals. Everyone I have dealt with from the time I have purchased my hot tub and all of my chemicals has been outstanding. Definitely excellent customer service. They give me step by step instructions and answer any questions. They even call me back the next day and have me do a test strip and help me read it while they are on the phone with me and let me know if things are testing correctly or not.

Recent Review: After using a north hills company to install my in-ground pool (I live in south hills) and having them abandon me when it came to troubleshooting or basic pool maintenance, I started using Pool and Spa Outlet. Although they did not install my pool, they have always treated me like I was a valued customer and have gone above and beyond to provide superior service. I use Pool and Spa to have my water tested (free of charge) weekly. They are not providing that service to be able to sell products that you don't need! Many, many times, they have let me know that my water balance is perfect and no products were needed. They also provide my pool opening and closing services, which are efficient. In addition, being a first time pool owner, I have dozens of questions that they patiently answer. They have sent employees out quickly to deal with emergencies I have had and the owner worked tirelessly a few seasons ago to help me with a heater warranty issue that I was unable to resolve on my own! They are incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. I wouldn't use any other pool company :)

Recent Review: Our inground pool had been leaking all summer. Usually just a couple of inches per week, but two or three times almost all the water leaked out!! It was incredibly expensive to keep adding water almost everyday, let alone refilling the dang thing several times. These guys came and found four holes and patched them and were gone in less than two hours. I was very impressed with the job they did. I was told upfront that the cost would be $500.00 ( unless they needed to purchase more materials to fix it, then it would be more). Yes, it was a bit expensive, but not compared to what we spent in water. I would recommend them to anyone with a problem with swimming pool leaks.

Recent Review: I needed a new pool liner installed. They showed up to take measurements and give me an estimate. Within two weeks the liner was installed and the job finished. There was one small problem with the liner coming loose at an edge when water was being pumped in. I called immediately and they were out promptly the very next work day to fix the problem. They were very professional and handled everything to my satisfaction.
