Morris Contracting
5.0
It was time to remodel our master bathroom and we were looking for a respected and professional contractor. Morris Contracting and owner Jason Morris came through with flying colors. Not only did Jason remodel our master bathroom but he also guided us through all of the details of purchasing our travertine floor and wall tile along with the added touches of chair rail and baseboard tile, lighting and fixtures. Jason and his crew always arrived 15 minutes early to start the job at 7:00 AM and put in a full days work while making sure they kept the rest of our home clean while accomplishing the remodeling. We would like to sincerely thank Jason for turning our master bathroom into a master bathroom spa?

Clint was prompt in responding to my request for vendors interested in remodeling my master bathroom. He came out for a visit, appeared interested and said he would have a proposal within 2 days. That was the last I heard from him. No proposal was ever received and no response to a followup email asking it there was still interest in the job.

Gary's work is stellar. I hired him for my big upstairs renovation of converting a bedroom into my master bathroom. I liked his work so much I immediately hired him for a second round of renovation of adding a deck and flipping my downstairs family room. He has an initial meeting to go over all of my requests and then he puts together a contract with everything included in the pricing. He communicates well along the way and answers my questions in a timely manner. I recommend him to anyone needing work done!

HORRIBLY...Rick used scab laborer cause his regular team(s) were busy. These guys were the worst I have ever seen. They didn't know how to properly lay tile floor or in the shower. Tiles were uneven, lopsided , not level. Plumbing installed wrong. Tub island didn't match size of tub. Finally had to have another company come in and fix everything. Rick did pay for the company if my choice to fix things. I think Rick is a nice honest guy but extended himself and hiring scab laborers was bad idea

Flawlessly! Mark and his team are amazing. Mark is responsive and his team of guys are very professional, considerate, and trustworthy (I gave them my garage code trustworthy). Mark is a bathroom for me 16 years ago (still has the same team of guys) and it still looks great. We recently had an issue with a shower (in a different bathroom), the whole thing was done in a week...fixed with the drywall looking good as new! Mark is the only contractor I would use for a bathroom or kitchen remodel.

When we asked all our friends/family/coworkers for a good contractor recommendation all we heard were horror stories. But thank god for Angies List and Carmen! We got a few estimates for our job before hiring Carmen, but Carmen stood out as the most detail oriented and attentive contractor we met with by far. His quote wasn’t the *lowest* estimate we got, but it was definitely the best justified based on the time and attention he gave us in reviewing all aspects of our job and answering all our questions. His attention to detail and genuine care for the quality of work he does carried through our entire renovation. From the temporary shower he built in our basement (to use while our only bathroom was under construction) to the perfectly aligned tile in our shower enclosure - everything was expertly planned and executed. Carmen was great about communicating next steps as the project progressed and we felt confident about his work during the whole process. On top of being great craftsmen, Carmen (and his helper Ryan) are just all around friendly guys that were a pleasure to have in our home for a few weeks. We’re so happy we found Carmen and now we finally have a great contractor to refer to others!!

David's Improvements
5.0
David's Improvements gutted and renovated the bathroom in my WWII era house. Everything was mostly original and needed replaced. The walls and floor were concrete and the plumbing was buried in the concrete. He saved what he could and gutted and redid the rest, putting in a new floor, drywall, plaster and new paint on the walls, and tile and soap holders in the shower with a glass door, all new appliances and behind the scenes/under the surface things - plumbing, heating ducts, electricity. It looks beautiful and his workmanship is excellent. Everyone who has seen my new bathroom is impressed. I trust his judgement with helping me pick out what works best in the space, what is quality without being too expensive, and what is good for resale should I ever decide to sell the house. He puts 100% into each step of the process and knows what will work from his years of experience, and changes course when needed. It's hard to find a person you can trust with so much knowledge, experience and who takes pride in his work. I found this in David's Improvements and I am so glad! He understands the whole process and gives his best effort in all he does. Thank you David for my beautiful and functional new bathroom!

This was the second time we hired Willis. He did such a nice job on our kitchen three years ago, so we did not hesitate to hire him again. The job is done and we are very pleased with the results. We started with just a shower. We wanted to make it bigger and use the extra space we had. But we ended up remodeling the entire bathroom: bathtub, new sinks, painting. Willis was very patient with us and as always offered very nice ideas. It felt like he knew better than we did what we wanted our bathroom to look like. What was really nice is that he and his crew always cleaned up after they finish their work. This was very important to us as we have kids and they are all over the place. Given all the circumstances, the remodeling took much longer than we expected it to be, but we were willing to wait. It takes time to do the job properly.

Joe is prompt and professional. Trustworthy. Friendly. Always came to job on time and prepared. We had him and his assistant install new tile in shower and floor, toilet, tub, fixtures, plumbing, frame out builders-grade mirror, new lighting above sink, and shower, paint walls. I chose all of the bathroom items and Joe installed them. I think the biggest hiccup of the project was the toilet I bought was not same brand of the tub. The finish of the whites were not exact match. I purchased another toilet so we had to wait on that delivery for a couple of weeks from Home Depot. Any time I saw that there was an issue with the work he did not have problem correcting. There was one tile issue around the tub that he was able to fix by adding more tile to walls. Additional bull-nose tile had to be purchased. We had to wait on tile shipment another week. He was able to place a niche in the shower using marble mosaic. I was worried how it would turn out as I did not have a designer with my project. End result looks great.

Excellent - Elliot is a very good hardworking contractor who gave us ideas, kept us informed daily and paid very good attention to the detail of the work. He left the work area clean daily and finished up leaving us with a beautiful upgraded bathroom. Price was right in there with other contractors who price fairly but what I received was a down to earth guy who worked very hard for my house. I would hire Eliot again !

This was my first time using a contractor for work on my house and I was a bit nervous. Carmen and his assistant Shawn were great! They showed up every day on time (or called/texted if they were running behind), worked hard and did a great job of cleaning up before they left. They picked up all of my fixtures at the retailers. They do excellent work for a good price. My bathrooms are absolutely gorgeous and I am thrilled with the results. My master bath involved the removal of a wall between a closet and the existing 3' x 7' 1/2 bath. Carmen removed everything down to the studs. His uncle is a master plumber and does beautiful work. They were even able to move my toilet to a better location after several people told me it couldn't be done. Carmen suggested installing a light behind the shower in an alcove, as well as two additional lights in the closet. I was afraid that this change order would be costly but it was very reasonable and he made sure I approved it before beginning work. They built a shower floor, the shower walls and Shawn (his helper) did a beautiful job tiling. They were very accomodating to my request for insets and had a brilliant idea to use glass tile in the recessed shelving area. It's pretty amazing that I have a custom shower that was built for a better price and higher quality than anything found in a big box store. The glass subcontractor that was used did a beautiful job installing a frameless glass shower door and half panel. They even beveled back the accent tile to allow the door to swing 180 degrees. All of this was accomplished in only 3 weeks! We did have an issue regarding a miscommunication involving the shower trim & valve. I had purchased a handle/valve & shower head to match my faucets and Carmen had also purchased a handle/valve & shower head. Fortunately, I had bought a quality trim kit and when they were working on my other bathroom they were able to change out the valve from the back since the tile was installed. My main bathroom involved the removal of the existing fixtures and the installation of a new tile floor, toilet, tub, vanity, fan, light, medicine cabinet and paint. Shawn once again did a great job on the tile and the entire room looks amazing. The only change in this room was due to the location of my cold water supply conflicting with a vanity drawer and using a pre-hung door instead of attempting to retrofit a new door. Again, Carmen was extremely up front about the price for the change and discussing my options. These guys are true professionals and do fantastic work. They're not the cheapest option out there but well within a normal range--you definitely get what you pay for! I will definitely use them in the future and will recommend them to everyone I know.

Doug and his team were exceptional, start to finish. They helped us redesign the bathroom, find great deals on the materials and connected us with a great contractor for the remodeling. We were really pleased with the process and the results and can't say enough good things about them. We are planning to use them for our upcoming master bedroom/bathroom renovation next.

Recent Review: Multi-time returning customer of Tri County Kitchens Inc. Few little kitchen update projects previously completed with them. Now we just completed our 2nd full kitchen renovation with Todd and his team. My wife and I are very cautious when hiring people to come work at our home. We are careful and decisive during the process to choose the professionals we decide upon. That being said... Todd and his crew are always 1st class to interact with. Courteous to converse with during the planning period. Happy to answer questions regarding materials, products, and the design that was best for our home. Detailed and itemized quote followed. Thorough plan of action was written out as well. The results have revamped the look of our home. As neighbors and friends and family do... they want to know who did the work and are we happy with the company who did the work. Yes, were are tremendously pleased. Happy to pass along their contact information so they too can utilize Todd and his team. Proud to have had Tri County Kitchens Inc take care of us, yet again

Recent Review: Our project was to remodel our small basement bathroom. It had a tiny 19 x 17 sink and vanity and a 3 foot shower stall. The existing stall was installed about 8 inches above the floor level so the inside height was about 80 inches at most. Our goal was to update to a larger vanity and larger shower. We sent out requests to several contractors but none were willing or able to take the project on. One of them who had very high Angie's List ratings could not accommodate our time frame but did refer us to Jamin at Laurel Craftsmen. One of the big issues with the project was that we live in Atlanta and had a small timeframe to work with when we would be in Pittsburgh. Jamin recommended that we open the basement floor and run the shower drain underneath giving us additional height in the shower at the same time warning that until demolition of the existing structure was complete there could be hidden issues. Anyone who watches HGTV knows this is always the case and ours was no exception. Jamin felt he could complete the project in 2 weeks but also stated that he is a perfectionist and it would not be complete until he was satisfied. After the project started we threw a curve when we wanted to move one of the existing walls to further enlarge the room. Did I mention that in doing so he had to also accommodate other existing drain pipes. Well he handled it with ease. After issues with non-level floors, an unknown floor drain, hidden damage from prior leaks, prior non-code plumbing, etc the project was complete only one day later than expected. We now have a roomy bathroom with a 4 foot shower with plenty of headroom, a full 30 inch vanity, a new efficient toilet, new flooring, trimwork, walls and storage. We could not be happier with the work Jamin did for us. We would highly recommend him (A++) for any projects you might have. Thank you, Jamin.

Recent Review: Great. He came to my house and viewed the project. He measured and photographed everything. I had a written quote the same day. He picked up the materials and presented the receipts for same. He showed up on time, completed the project perfectly and cleaned up very well. Clean cut articulate guy, even my dog liked him. From quote to project completion was under a week. He completed my project in seven hours. Great price and great work. We were very happy.

Recent Review: We looked for a contractor for eight years and never felt like we had found the right one. This resulted in us putting off work for years. By the time we met Milo, we were almost ready to remodel our house from top to bottom. Milo provided us with a very detailed quote outlining all of the work that needed to be done and the cost. It was clear to us what was included in the cost and the items or materials that we needed to choose and provide. He came when he said he would, he worked good and hard every day. His work was impeccable, and he did everything that we wanted him to do just the way we wanted it. We cannot give Milo a high enough recommendation. We look forward to working with him on our kitchen remodel!

Recent Review: We had been planning to completely remodel the original, 1950's kitchen in our house for 2 years. After working with multiple contractors and kitchen designers who couldn't seem to understand our vision, we found Caruso Cabinets in Irwin. George immediately understood what we were trying to do and, after multiple drafts of the design (we kept finding things we wanted and wanted to change in the original), we had a plan. George was absolutely patient with us and our changes since this was a "once in a lifetime" for us and both he and us wanted perfect! The best thing about Caruso is that they manufacture their own cabinets so the choice of color, style, and layout were endless as opposed to all the other companies we talked to who use pre-fab cabinets and you're limited in the choices based on what they have in stock. From the day Tim, Dave and the rest of the remodel crew set foot in our house, they were the ultimate professionals and craftsmen. The remodel crew showed up promptly at 8:30am every single day of the work and put in a full day until the project was complete, even making sure that they cleaned and swept up the daily dust before leaving. Our original kitchen was stripped to the bare walls and the remodel began. Every detail, every change, every addition was accommodated to assure our satisfaction with the finished product. From the very start, the entire Caruso team understood how important this remodel was to us and did absolutely everything possible to make sure it matched our dream. When we decided at the last minute that we didn't want the walls cluttered with switches and plugs, George helped us find under cabinet power and switch strips to keep the walls clean (notice on the pictures no ugly plugs!) That's the kind of attention to detail and making sure you're happy that Caruso provides! We had major issues with our granite company, and Denny (the owner of Caruso) personally stepped in and made sure the counters were re-cut and correct. In our opinion you can go to any big box store for this kind of remodel and it will be just OK. If you want a truly custom, beautiful dream kitchen, go to Caruso and talk to George.

Recent Review: Wanted to extend a tile floor from the entry area into a hallway, into the kitchen and partially into a family room. That included a lot of little details such as replacing trim, installing door sweeps, etc. Jim's crew came up with the idea to cut tile to use as the trim/baseboard under the kitchen cabinets, which looks awesome, instead of the wood trim that was there. In addition, Jim and his crew installed new kitchen appliances, which arrived right after the floor tile was complete. Jim hooked up water line from basement to fridge as well. Also, he created floor transition/threshhold pieces from some of the hardwood boards I had left over. The floor tile and trim look fantastic. Jim's crew was very nice and personable. They were great to deal with and have good personalities. They did solid work. They were respectful to not let any of our pets escape through open doors. Also, they fixed our screen door so it wouldn't slam shut instantly when you left go of it. I hired JP May Construction to refinish a living room/dining room hardwood floors. I was so pleased with that, I had them refinish all of our hardwood floors upstairs. That went so well, I hired them to handle this tile floor project. And, I hired them to renovate a bathroom. Jim and his crew are busy guys, but they took some time to come out on the weekends to finish up whenever needed.
