We were very pleased with Tom. He had great ideas for our kitchen and we are extremely pleased with everything he did. He did a great job coordinating with the flooring company, granite company and everything went smoothly. We love the amish cabinets. They are a great quality! I know several people that he has remodeled kitchens for and know that they are all extremely happy with the end results.

Elite Renovation Corp
5.0
North Shore Kitchen was hired to remodel our Kitchen and partnered with Larry and Elite Renovations to do the work. They were both professional, attentive to detail and timely in their responses. The project finished in what both said was the most aggressive time they could hit - ahead of the expected time and in time for us to host a family Christmas gathering. Scope of the job included gutting the kitchen, removing a 45 degree corner to open up the kitchen; shortening a wall between the kitchen/family room; running the same tile flooring through both rooms, and in the kitchen implementing a new layout while replacing all cabinetry, plumbing, electric, lighting; countertops/backsplash and appliances. The work also required an addition to the electric box, removal of a chase to the roof for the hot water tank exhaust, and replacement of the tank with a change in the exhaust routing. Larry was very attentive to the work to be done, and when something unforeseen came up communicated it quickly and arranged to have it resolve quickly. When a few cost-related items came up I felt like the costs presented were reasonable. We have been using the kitchen now for two months, and could not be happier with the finished product. I will also add that when we had an issues after the contract was finished - he worked through them and brought them to resolution.

Copperleaf design
5.0
Copperleaf is a family run business. Shawn and Gino cared about what we were trying to get done and ensured that everything went smoothly from start to finish. We couldn't have done it with our Liz, their designer as she has fantastic vision along with her experience that allowed her to marry our desires with her vision to finalize a design and project that were better than either she or we could have done alone. The craftsmen (I have to say craftsman because they were way to skilled to call them workers) were not only very good at their jobs but considerate and personable. I can't say enough about the honesty and integrity of the entire organization and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Copperleaf to anyone considering a home remodeling.

Odd Jobs Property Maintenance

We have worked with Ali since we moved into this house in July 2015. He was originally hired for his handyman services but when our original contractor took off with our money without finishing the job, we asked Ali if he would be willing to step in and do the work on our house for us. And, we couldn't have made a better decision. Ali was not only amazing to work with, he took the time to go to Lowe's with us to help us pick out the countertop, backsplash & sink - he was patient with all of the little hiccups along the way (that were not his fault). We could not be happier with the work that he completed on our house. The kitchen is exactly what we wanted. Everyone who comes to our house comments on how beautiful it turned out. He torn out the old wallpaper, removed all existing cabinets and countertop, ripped up the old flooring & removed all debris from the property. He painted the entire kitchen, put together all of the new cabinets and installed them, installed the backsplash and sink and installed the new flooring. I hope we never have to do work to the kitchen again, but if we do, we would definitely hire Ali to do the job!!!!

The receptionist I spoke to gave me a starting number per square foot that was within our budget so an estimate was scheduled. Not an hour later I received another call saying the original estimate was off by at least half and they had decided not to fulfill the appointment. Experiences like this make me glad I avoided such poor handling of my house before any ground was broken.

SL Contractors
5.0
I was very pleased with the work SL Contractors performed at my home. They completely remodeled my Kitchen and Bathroom. They were running a special on Kitchens and Bathrooms, 25% off if I had them both done at the same time. So I took advantage of the savings, which was a considerable amount. I was not really sure how I wanted my kitchen to look. They had a designer go over many options as far as products, materials and floor plans. The designer drew a complete interactive blueprint just like on HGTV. Complete with colors, cabinets, flooring, window treatment, the whole complete kitchen. I was able to really get a good idea of what my finished kitchen would look like. They completed the job on time just as it looked in the blueprint. They took great care not damage or dirty the rest of my home. ?My adorable bathroom?. The completed job is breathtaking. They removed a wall to enlarge the room, to change my three piece bathroom to a four piece. We had no tub. They installed a walk-in shower with tile surround and floor to ceiling custom glass doors. They also installed a soaker tub. They included all the plumbing and electrical work too. I feel that the price that I was charged is more than fair for the amount of work they had to do to give me the beautiful kitchen and bathroom.

Ken did a great job designing. He got maximum space out of a galley kitchen. Everything was fully functional and efficient. His crew, Rich and sons, were expert craftsman, and actually ended up doing a lot of other renovation in our 60 year old house.

Clark Renovations Inc
5.0
My wife researched Clark Renovations on Angie's List and because of the good reviews, we decided to contact them about remodeling our old kitchen. We made an appointment to meet with Chris Clark, who showed up at our house at the agreed upon time, ready to offer us his ideas and suggestions. After spending a considerable amount of time with us, Chris told us he would contact us for a second meeting where we could pick out our cabinets, countertops, flooring and plumbing fixtures. This second meeting was held at their offices and we saw with our own eyes what we would be getting from the samples they had on hand. This led to a third and final pre-project meeting where the nitty-gritty details were worked out and a work schedule and a price was developed. After making our final selections, Chris promised to get back to us to give us a start date for the renovation. This was not going to be a simple appliance change out and new sink fixture renovation. This was a "down to the bare wall studs" type project. My biggest fear was that the project would be started and then the workmen would suddenly disappear from my project and re-appear at another project because the screws for my cabinets were too short and it would take 6 weeks for the right screws to get shipped from the factory or some other nonsensical reason to kite my job. Clark did not do this. They showed up every day and worked a full day to finish our kitchen. The work was done on time and in a workmanlike manner. The worksite was cleaned every night before they left helping to minimize the chaos of living without a kitchen can bring. The subs they hired to do the electrical and plumbing work were also professional in their approach and were helpful in their suggestions whenever we reached a problem area. When Clark was finished, my wife was "over the moon" happy with the results and I will say that the cost and time were well worth it. I could not be happier with Clark Renovations and I will gladly provide a reference for them. They are thoroughly professional in their attitude, workmanship and relationship with the customer. They are not the cheapest, but I am a firm believer in that you get what you pay for. I could have had this work done for a lower cost by someone else, but after meeting with Clark in the preliminary stages, I felt confident that I was going to get a job that I knew was done correctly and by professional workmen, not somebody's " buddy who has a cousin whose friend does kitchens on the side". By hiring Clark, we have exactly what we wanted, installed by skilled tradesmen on time and guaranteed by the people who did the work.

They can and do excellent work. They appeared to be somewhat in a hurry at the end, which seriously compromised one aspect of the work. Communication was at times difficult. We had kitchen completely redone. Todd was one of several contractors that I interviewed. His pricing was about average, but he impressed me with knowledge and openness during the interview. The impression was affirmed later. He is knowledgeable and energetic, and employs good people. He came for estimate on 7th of November, and sent the estimate on 26th. After some questions about the estimate, he sent us a revised estimate on 2nd of December, which we accepted on 16th of December. The work was scheduled to begin March 3rd. In ensuing months we were preparing for the work, and so had some minor questions to Todd. He was generally responsive, but often we would need to prod him quite a bit before getting a reply. It was clear that he was busy with projects, but it still meant that there was a communication difficulty. They work started a day later than originally planned due to snowstorm. Todd showed up with his crew and rapidly started working. In retrospect, it would have been a good idea to review the work plan in detail before work started, for it turned out that his and my ideas of the project had diverged slightly over the intervening months. His crew (Jamie, Kari and others) proved as knowledgeable and well-meaning as Todd. It was clear that they aimed to do the job right. As an example, let me mention the time that countertop contractor carelessly drilled too far into the cabinet, piercing the finish. Jamie kindly fixed that other contractor's mistake by attaching a matching piece of the wood atop the hole. The project involved demolition of a non-load-bearing wall, stripping the old flooring, stripping the old wall tile, framing an arch in the new opening, laying tile on the floor and the wall, erecting the cabinets, painting and assortment of other tasks. I would like to single out the arch part of the work. That was an important part of the project, and some contractors that I interviewed were uneasy about handling it. Both my wife and I were much impressed how well Todd and co. managed to match the shape of an existing arch in their new work. While the work quality was good, the communication was suffering at times. We did not live in the house during the remodel, and so could not watch the work everyday. When problems arose, we would usually not get a call from Todd. Generally Todd and Jamie preferred to make decisions on their own, which were usually sound decisions, but occasionally went too far. A particularly bad example was when we discovered, a day before the countertop contractor was supposed to measure the cabinets, that one of the cabinets was not installed because Jamie could not figure out how we wanted it installed. A simple phone call could have saved me from worrying about it, and them from having to redo the work urgently next morning. (What happened was that due to pipe placement that was discovered during wall demolition, plans got altered, which we communicated to Todd and Jamie, but somehow that was forgotten by the time cabinets were to be installed.) The only real problem with the work that Todd and co. performed came at the end. Apparently they had some difficulties with the wall on which the tile was supposed to go. That delayed their work, but they assured me that it would not change anything. The result was that the tiling of the said wall was postponed till after installing the counters, and most importantly the wall was not properly evened. When queried about the latter, Jamie assured that he can still place tile evenly. Given the good quality of workmanship I had seen from them before, I believed. To compound the issue, Todd scheduled very little time for Jamie to finish the tiling and other remaining bits (I guess it was middle of another project for them). The result: Jamie stayed in the house until 9pm, finishing the work, and tile ended up all uneven. It really looks awful. When I mentioned this in final e-mail to Todd along with another outstanding problem, Todd sent someone to fix that other problem, but failed even to respond to the question about the tile. That is a poor communication. If, for whatever reason, the work on the wall was more difficult than anticipated, and a job could not be done as planned, then that should have been promptly communicated to me.

Glen and his team did an outstanding job. Glen kept me abreast of the project by sharing pictures and negotiating reasonable rates for all the work completed. The finished project is phenomenal. The house is almost 100 years old and they were able to restore it to its original glory. The detail and care his team put into the project is appreciated. I would definitely recommend this company and I would also use them again.

Started with Susan, the designer, she had some great ideas, incorporated mine and used every nook and cranny available. Then came Wayne, the poject manager, he runs a tight ship, the crews where there on time, one after the other. Loved Dave and Steve, the cabinet installers, they were so precise down to the millimeter, Followed by the plumber, the granite installers, the electrician and painter.. Wayne coordinated the deliverance of the appliances, there was nothing left for me to do but get up early in the morning...(I am retired) I had dreaded the project, but Patete made it easy. I loved the immediate response, no menue, people!!!They responded to the most minute question. Everybody left the place cleaner than they found it. Thank you all! Dorothee FRoltz

Recent Review: I am very happy with my decision to go with K C Contracting. John and his team are very good to work with. They helped design and build the construction of my front porch roof and wood plank ceiling. The process went smoothly and John does a great job of kicking around ideas and presenting viable options. I enjoyed talking to the team as well. I will definitely consider for future projects!

Recent Review: I had a great experience with Acclaimed. John the owner was extremely accommodating. My work schedule requires me to be out of town most of the time and he was willing to work our meetings into the calendar when I was in town. He and his staff made sure I understood my choices and the implications, they were professional and reliable during the entire process. The actual work proceeded according to plan. I found the quality to be very good and what was done matched what I had been told. They communicated well during the job, which was important as I was remote much of the time. There was one small piece that was missed, and when I asked about it they sent someone right out to complete it. Chris, who did much of the work, went above and beyond the call to make sure I was happy - and then some. I will definitely use Acclaimed for my next remodelling project, and I would recommend them without hesitation.

Recent Review: We first Hired NSKD to do design work for a major remodel of our kitchen. We were really looking for ideas at that time, as we knew we wanted to refresh the kitchen and change the layout in a major way. Paula and Sara patiently worked with us through possible layouts and options – maybe as high as 10 different potential options. Once we chose a few options and started to consider the details and costs of the finalists we did decide on a layout, and refined it slightly more based upon cost and on some dimensional challenges. North Shore ended up with the remodel contract and used Elite Construction to do the work. They were both professional, attentive to detail and timely in their responses. The project finished in what both said was the most aggressive time they could hit - ahead of the expected time and in time for us to host a family Christmas gathering. They worked with us to design the perfect shower, listening to our wishes and advising us on how to achieve the best result. Recent Review: They like to do everything face to face, that was nice for my purposes. The quote process was a little slow. I received I think five quotes for that and they were by far the slowest. It took them about a week and a half to even get the quote back to me. There are parts that are good, they are very old school, they wrote everything down on paper and came back with a paper quote, but at the same time I received typed up detailed quotes from other contractors in e-mail fashion the next day. So, there was good and bad with it, but the biggest thing for me is they were very very expensive, compared they were by far the most expensive, which was kind of shocking given the fact that they were very old school in their approach up to that point. Overall, they were very professional.

Recent Review: My wife and I are very pleased with the very successful and timely remodeling of our medium size kitchen by the Pittsburgh Remodeling Company (PRC). Rob, Nate, Sophia, Chris W., Heidi, Chris S., and Jeremy coordinated with us and with Allegheny Millwork, Inc., Don's Appliances, Best Tile, The Tile Shop and Cambria, Inc. and in the design, purchase and installation of all the necessary components to achieve totally new, beautiful and very functional interior space. We had used PRC previously in a successful, timely and complete remodeling of our kids' bathroom; thus, we were familiar with their workmanship and style of interaction and coordination with the homeowners. However, we did seek three bids for the kitchen project. All bids were within 10% of each other. PRC had the most experience with timely remodeling of kitchens and excellent reviews of their craftsmanship and creativity in surmounting unforeseen obstacles during the reconstruction. We were always informed as to the dates and times that the renovation team members were coming to the home. At the outset, they were very careful to cover all walking paths and steps as well as a large area of our dining room with a special cardboard and tape on which we reestablished the refrigerator and a camp-style temporary kitchen. All debris was collected each day and moved to a dumpster near the home. All products from all vendors were delivered on time and coordinated through PRC to speed the installation. Moreover, the flow of ideas, suggestions for changes to improve functionality and appearance and running costs were essentially continuous between the PRC team members on site and my wife and me. When either we or a team member on site needed something altered or purchased, it was discussed and achieved. The result was, as noted, a beautiful, functional kitchen that is admired by all that see it. As such, my wife and I highly recommend Pittsburgh Remodeling Company for your next kitchen and/or bath renovation.
