I scheduled a repair appointment. The technician was scheduled to arrive between 0800-1200. The technician neither called or showed up. It's a shame what has happened to what was once a great American store. Unfortunately this isn't the first time I've been disappointed by Sears, but it will be the last.

Over all, extremely poor. First, they came in my front door while I was in powder room without waiting for me to answer the door. After they removed existing appliances, I wanted to clean crumbs,etc in area where oven was being replaced, and was told that it was not necessary and would take up too much time. I did it anyway and was told that "Jewish and Italian women always need to clean." I am a doctor, so I have a reliable level of intelligence. After he installed the oven, and pronounced it done , I asked about the large void at the bottom of the oven, and the left over pieces. It also seemed that the frame was bending, causing the control panal to warp. He insisted that it was an "optical illusion"! He said there were unnecessary trim pieces and that I'd have to call a carpenter to fill the hole. I read the directions for the installation and informed him that the leftover pieces were part of the vent assembly and needed to be installed on the bottom of the oven (where the void was) He said there was no place to screw that on, and could not figure out how the pieces went together. I read the directions and put the pieces together. I informed him that the instructions showed that the oven door needed to be removed first in order to attach the vent. He did not seem to want to do it, at first making it seem that the door could not be removed. Also, I told him that the oven was not flush with the cabinet, but he said that was the best it would fit because a pipe was in the way. I told him I would do what was necessary, such as have the pipe moved, even if that meant delaying the installation, but he said I could not move the pipe because it would be too costly. (untrue) I said it was not acceptable to have the oven sticking out 1/2 inch, it looked terrible....and it was crooked! He and his assistant removed the oven and cut off parts of the back of it, voiding the warranty, to make the oven fit flush, all the while warning me that this extra work was going to cost me more money. The microwave installation was worse!!! He would not use a level or a measuring tape, insisting that it was not necessary to center or level the mounting bracket or for the oven to be level. He and his assistant took a long time trying to figure out a way to force the oven to fit when it was clear to me that the bracket was not positioned correctly. He made rude sexist comments to me when I asked the oven be centered and level. They broke the mounting hardware on the appliance trying to force it! Again, I was warned of their hourly rate and was scolded for making them late for their next job. I was forced to accept it as is...croocked and at a forward tilt. Mostly, I just gave up knowing I will have to have someone else come to fix their mess. It was clear to me they either did not want to or did not know how to do the job properly. As for mess, they did not use any drop cloth and got tarry streakes from their shoes all over my kitchen and entry tile floor. It took me an hour with a bottle of GooGone to get it all off. They cracked one of my floor tiles in front of the oven area. They left all of the packaging, random screws and garbage in several areas of my garage and kitchen. In my opinion, they were generally incompetent, sloppy, careless, rude, sexist.... and I will never let them into my house again!

Our stove had been heating inconsistently, so we researched Roger's Appliance Parts and then gave them a call. We described the problem and gave him the model no. for the stove, over the phone. He was able to schedule same day service. When he arrived, he immediately went to work and explained the problem. It took him less than an hour to replace the part (igniter) and charged a very reasonable price. His conduct was very friendly and professional. I would definitely do business with him again.

The serviceman corrected a minor issue with the upper oven which fixed the problem. However, he identified a problem with the door lock assembly of the LOWER oven and recommended replacing it. I was not having any problems with the oven but agreed to the repair. After the new door lock assembly was installed, the oven would not heat at all! I had just used it 2 days prior without a problem. I was charge $344.91 and they essentially broke my oven, I had never had an issue with this oven. The unfortunate event happened 2 days before Thanksgiving and made preparing the Thanksgiving dinner a mess. I am not convinced there was ever a problem with the lower oven and now it is not functioning. Major inconvenience.

I have really mixed feelings about Don's. First off, I'd use them again because I have a warranty through them. That's the only reason. I've been tremendously disappointed with Don's overall, although the folks who actually installed our appliances were excellent. We chose Don's because they carried the higher end brands we needed for the house, given some unusual dimensions we needed to work with. Our first purchase was a fridge which went pretty well. After our old oven died, we decided to replace the other appliances which were all dated and seemed to be failing within weeks of each other. We placed an order, were told our appliances would be installed before Thanksgiving, and the saga began. Don's staff was terrible at keeping us apprised and advocating for their customer with the supplier. Ultimately, we never received our appliances until January (with an order placed in October). We were without a wall oven for Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, and the new year. As I stated earlier, the installers were very good. Polite, careful with our property, and responsive. However, yesterday my wall oven failed. I called Don's service department and was struck, yet again, by how irritating it is to work with certain aspects of this company. I found the person who I talked with in the service department to be very disrespectful. He asked if my husband could "help" me find the circuit breaker - maybe that was the problem and it just needed to be reset. I also mentioned that the temperature of the top oven never was true and he asked "if I'd read the owner's manual" since that was addressed in there. I had by the way and it still wasn't working. I was also informed that our extended warranty was through a different company and we should have been informed by our salesperson (we weren't, what a surprise) but it wasn't an issue anyway since our oven hasn't been in the house even a year yet. Lucky us. Well, we have an appointment scheduled so we'll see how it goes. I expect the technician to be just fine. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Don's for sales and have very mixed views on repairs. If you can stomach the condescending and rude people who schedule your appointment, the technician will likely be fine.

My mother-in-law has a 50 year old gas wall oven. She did not want a new one, but we were worried because the old one wasn't working right and she is elderly and lives alone. Roger called me right away and came the same day to look at the oven. He checked it over, apparently cleaned something or adjusted, and now it works great and is safe. My mother-in-law said he was one of the "nicest young men I have ever met." He was professional and personable.

I started with a working Kenmore Pro double wall oven and was left with an oven that does not work. I called initially to have a Sears tech check out an issue I was having with the top oven. It still worked find but every so often, it wouldn't stop beeping. After the first repair attempt, the top oven worked but I went to use the bottom oven only to find the knobs were broke. Another repair attempt to fix the knobs for the bottom oven, go to use it only to find that now BOTH OVENS DO NOT WORK. The last repair attempt, the tech said that he got the top oven to work. A few days later, I had it on a low temperature (180 degrees to be exact). Left to run an errand and come back only to find my house filled with smoke, the alarm system going off and the oven temperature all the way up to over 500 degrees. Over 2 months later and I would estimate over 25 hours on the phone with Sears, I am still left without an oven and Sears is refusing to do anything about it except shuffle me from one person to the next.

Pat came on time and addressed the problem. After a few days, the issue happened again. Pat came out right replaced the blown out igniter, made another adjustment to the oven, and did this all at no extra charge. Oven has been working ever since.

When I found these guys, I called to make an appointment, they came out to look at the oven, called Maytag, decided it needed a new igniter, ordered the part, scheduled another appointment to come out and install the new part. The oven now works fine. The estimate was accurate, and the price seemed reasonable.

Recent Review: Joe, the repairman, arrived on the day promised. He was very pleasant and went right to work. He said that to have the thermostat fixed would cost over $200, and suggested that it might not be worth repairing (I assumed because the cost of new oven would be only about twice the repair amount). I agreed to ''live with'' the thermostat problem. He said the non-heating problem was easy to fix. He had the part right in his truck. Should have taken him just a few minutes to replace the ignitor. Took longer than normal, though, because he had oriented the porcelain igniter incorrectly. He had to call his boss, who arrived quickly and helped him figure out problem. No extra charge for his extra time, but from the get-go, Joe said the charges would be $160. This seemed steep. Unfortunately, the bill had no break-down, so I couldn't distinguish parts from labor. To be fair, I have no comparison, as this is 1st time oven's been repaired.

Recent Review: We have an insurance. So when we call the insurance they will give a name of whom to contact. It works like that. If we have any issues with electronics they will give a contact number to contact. We called them and they gave us the plumbers number. We called him and made an appointment and he fixed it. If it exceeds $70 your plans have a limit. The deductible we have to pay. We did not go to them for a lot of things just one. The first experience was fine of everything. We have not used them a lot of times. They fixed the call quick.

Tony tested the igniter to make sure his diagnosis was correct. He offered to replace the igniter and detailed the costs for doing so. I agreed to the replacement and the job was done in less than one half hour. Tony was polite and professional at all times.

Recent Review: The oven on my ancient, but beloved range was not working, and my dryer stopped heating the same week! I called Bob, and he came by as scheduled to inspect the situation (on a Saturday). The part for the oven (radiant tube) was no longer available, but he adapted a different part to fit and it works! He repaired the dryer by replacing the heating element. When I said that last Winter cold air came in through the dryer vent. He inspected the vent and found that the trap-door was stuck open. He then cleaned it and the vent pipe, as well as vacuuming under the dryer. This is the second time I called Bob to repair an appliance. He is both highly professional and a delightful person.
