James Broderick was the Ricupero manager for a large project associated with landscaping, stamped concrete patios, and ground lighting associated with a new inground pool. James did everything from the design drawings to operating the heavy equipment on days when it was needed. He and the Ricupero crew could not have been more talented, responsive, and professional. I wouldn't consider hiring anyone but James and his team for any future work. All we can say is thanks for excellent execution of a complex project.

He was very nice and did an estimate with great landscaping ideas for removing the pool and re landscaping our property. I wish we could have used him but his price was more than we could afford to pay. I'm sure we would have been more than happy with the results if he had done the work and I wish we could have afforded him.

Last Summer, I called a few places to have my pool deck stained, as it was 2 years old and the pressure treated wood had turned considerably greyer than when the deck was new. Mike was referred to me by a co-worker of mine. He lives in the same area as I do. I asked Mike to come over and provide an estimate for my job. The initial estimate cost was $825 (which included power wash and 2 gallons of stain as well as Labor), and I figured that that was a great price at almost half the price of my next lowest estimate. I agreed to have Mike begin work on my deck. He started my job when he said he would, even though he had other jobs going on at the same time as mine. The first day, he power-washed half of my deck. I saw the difference in the wood immediately. He came back the following day to finish power washing the other half of the deck. We waited about a week, and Mike came back. This gave the wood the opportunity to "dry out" to the point where it would be able to accept stain for the first time. My wife and I picked Behr Natural Number 500 Deck Stain to use on our deck. Mike even went to Home Depot to buy 2 gallons, per the initial quote. Mike began getting to work. As the job progressed, it became clear that the first 2 gallons were not enough for the job. Mike had to make 3 more trips to Home Depot to pick up an additional 5 gallons of stain (7 in total). He applied 2 total coats of stain to the deck boards and railings and 1 thick coat on the spindles, rolling on and back brushing my entire deck... BY HAND. In total, the job took Mike about 40 hours worth of work by himself. If I am able to provide pictures with this review, I can prove his work is spectacular. After all of his additional work and extra special attention to detail, I decided to give him $1,050 for the work and $50 towards taking his wife out to dinner for working late on so many occasions... just to get my job done. I should have paid him more. I know I would not have received the same level of service or quality of workmanship anywhere else. If you have any painting or staining work, give Mike a call. You wont be sorry. I promise you.

We needed an 18' x 36' inground pool, surroundings pavers, and a fence removed from the back yard of our newly purchased home. We knew Cullen from his excellent landscaping work; he came right out to look at the pool and gave us a very reasonable estimate. I knew from researching this kind of project that it has to be done right, you can't just throw dirt in and forget about it. Cullen knew exactly how to handle the job; he explained the process to us step-by-step. This was not an easy project; Cullen had to get heavy equipment between our home and the neighbor's home, and it was a tight fit. The rainy weather made it even more challenging, but they started when they said they would, and completed the job in a very timely manner. Cullen was here personally, working on the project, and overseeing, from start to finish. We are very happy with the finished results. Our yard looks amazing. It is a huge relief to have the old, decrepit pool out of here. Cullen is a pleasure to do business with.

Great experience with Joe. He scheduled a time to come and give an estimate and was right on time. He then said he'd be back in the following week to level the dirt. He noticed it was going to rain and so he called and came earlier than he planned to get the job done. He insisted someone be home so we could give him immediate feedback on what we wanted and how he was doing. He did a careful job and spend a great deal of time making sure it was done right. I know it just sounds like moving dirt, but he was thoughtful about it and we appreciated this. We would definitely call him again for future jobs. A lot of companies didn't want to bother with such a small job, but Joe did it and we are glad we found him.

Spadafora Custom Concrete

My wife and I decided to install a new, in-ground swimming pool this spring. We wanted a colored, stamped concrete patio around the pool rather than plain regular or aggregate concrete. We have friends who hired Spadafora Custom Concrete to install a patio a few years ago. After seeing the work first-hand and after researching their website and Facebook page, we gave them a call. I received a return call from Harry Spadafora (owner) and we discussed the project. He came to our house a few days later, looked at the job, listened to our ideas, made recommendations, discussed his approach, and showed us pictures of previous work. He called us the next day with a price estimate and offered to meet us at another job he was working on so that we could see his work. We hired Harry and kept in touch with him while the pool was being installed. He helped us keep the pool installation on schedule by coordinating with the pool contractor and pouring concrete coping around the perimeter mid-way through the pool construction. Our project included an outdoor fireplace and patio that was constructed in an area that contained fill dirt from the pool excavation. Harry helped us design that part of the project in a way that ensures stability over the long term. This included construction of block foundation walls on top of a concrete footer. The concrete patio was poured over a web of rebar that was connected to the block walls. It was pretty neat watching them install the block walls and forms for the concrete. Their attention to detail was amazing - the forming, stamping, and finishing are literally flawless. The decorative cuts and expansion joints are laser straight and I have no idea how they got wood to bend like they did to create the smooth curves and turns. Harry and his crew were extremely friendly, hard-working, and professional. Harry and his right-hand man Jim were regularly onsite during the project. Harry routinely gave us updates on what to expect during all phases of the job and provided updates on the timeline (when it rained, etc). He was a constant source of advice and recommendations, which we very much appreciated since this was the first time we ever purchased concrete work. Harry's pricing was very fair and the end result looks better than we anticipated. Harry and his crew take great pride in their work and made sure we were completely satisfied. Harry even helped by referring a masonry contractor when we were having a hard time finding one (he also called to help us get on their busy schedule). I will definitely use Spadafora Custom Concrete in the future and give them my absolute highest recommendation for anyone seeking concrete work.

Came on a Monday showed up on time. Gave us a price based on a week of work (we kept adding on) and in the end the price was less since he finished early. Moved tons of dirt around my yard and When he was done they cleaned up and left us with a much better setting. We have used Dave for a hardscape project also. We are always very happy with his work. We give Dave's # out a lot and everyone always thanks us. If u call Dave in the spring or summer expect a wait. He is always busy.

After a horrible experience with another concrete contractor, we needed someone to step in and complete a job. Andy was recommended by the pool company where we purchased our inground pool. From the minute that we contacted Andy, he was compassionate, understanding, helpful and professional! He came out the next available day to look at the project and talk about what we needed done. He never used this opportunity to put the other company down for his personal gain. He was respectful and focused on what he could offer to help us. Andy provides insight, suggestions and other ideas to get the look I wanted for my budget. We ended up not using him for the job ONLY because he wasn’t able to get to our jobs for a couple weeks (Which was totally understandable at our last minute request) and another company could start 3 days later. Even after telling Andy that we were going another route due to timing, he still reached out to make sure things were going okay, and to offer his expertise to make sure that our contractor knew how to do the coping correctly. A stand-up guy, for sure! I will not hesitate to contact Andy again and use him in the future! I wish all contractors were like Andy!

I found them on Angie's List. What stood out was their professionalism and the quality of their work. There were a couple of times when they didn't come to the house when they were working on that project, but I had stipulated to them that it was not a rush project for me and they were free to do any work that came up in between. There were a couple of days when they could not come due to bad weather and then there were a couple of days when they had other projects that they needed to attend to, and that was more than acceptable to me. I did not have any deadline for completing the job and there was no rush. My husband and I had used them in the past and Mr. Kelly was the first person that I thought of after an enormous piece of siding had fallen off the house after a really bad rain storm. I did not get any other bids on the project. I contacted him and he gave me a rundown on what they would be doing and I agreed.

It was a wonderful experience. Contractor listened to what I was looking for. Was quick to get a quote and started working on the project. The back yard turned out great and was a key feature which sold this house for me. I wish I would have let them do the concrete work in the back yard that I had planned, because the contractor that I had hired did a horrible job. I would use this excavating/landscape contractor again if I build a home in the future to do foundation work and landscaping.
