Pittsburgh Drywall Installation

Post installation of an internal french drain, the bottom of the drywall needed to be replaced along with the installation of a bottom footer and extension of the wall joists. Robert submitted a bid that was considerably lower than other bids and he performed the work quoted in the bid. He was professional and personable. I would hire him again without hesitation.

Jason was extremely responsive online, gave me an estimate based on my description, and it was very easy to schedule an appointment. When Steve started to replace the fan, it revealed an unsafe junction box that also needed to be replaced. They pulled out the old junction box without damaging the surrounding plaster, replaced it, installed the fan with light kit, and cleaned everything up completely. GFCIs went quickly and easily. Extremely professional -- would definitely go back to them in the future.

Everything went extremely well as planned. The timer was replaced and the lights are all working as they originally were installed. I couldn't have asked for better service and professionalism. Joyce and Dave are very easy to work with and are more than willing to fit you in where they can.

Dave is highly skilled, very organized, and extremely knowledgeable. He genuinely cares about the quality and appearance of his work, and he often exceeded this customer's expectations. He's also very personable and considerate. I plan to hire him whenever I need a "handyman" in the future. Recommended!

Chris is quite experienced with water damage repair. He removed a vanity and toilet in the basement to repair water damage behind the wall, then painted and replaced baseboards; replaced vanity and toilet (installed new works in my toilet too!). In the kitchen, we had a bit of a time installing new LED puck lights under my cabinets (they are there, but messily installed) and dimmable LED downlights in the ceiling. The drywall and subsequent paint job work was impeccable but we had to call in an electrician to figure out the wiring. Chris has also done some small jobs: replaced rotted wood in a threshold in an outside door; repaired a small rotten patch in a bay window, and installed some foam faux "supports" I had purchased under a bay window. He and his team were respectful and friendly but professional. I think he is terrific at drywall and painting and his prices reflect that. And he knows what he is doing when treating water damaged areas. If you just want someone to paint your walls as is, Chris will not be the cheapest. But if you need drywall repair and want the subsequent paint job to be perfect, call Sweet Success.

Hindes and McGinnis repaired and replaced drywall, treated for mold, added wainscoting, installed new floor as well as leveled the concrete floor. They also removed and later replaced an entire wall of built-in wood cabinetry. They then repaired some water damage to those cabinets. A closet was built and installed around a sump pump system. Unrelated to the water damage, we had an oak railing installed upstairs, that they stained as well. All painting was included in the price. This is one of the best experiences we've had with contractors. They were always on time, very professional, and the communication with the office as well as with the head contractor was excellent. We are very pleased with the work that was completed and are enjoying our remodeled game room!

Everything went great. Darryl comes on time (early in the AM) which is hard to find in contractors. The shower and interior doors look great, and open and close perfectly. Drywall finished very well.

Excellent. Geno and Mike were very professional. They did a beautiful job and were friendly and courteous. They cleaned up after themselves and left no mess. I will definitely hire them again and will recommend them to all my friends.

Bill Gilbert arrived for estimate two days after initial contact. House was built in 1956. Original owner installed 4" plastic tile in entire bathroom, including around tub/shower. Bill was the only remodeler I contacted who thought it possible to replace only the area around the tub/shower. His estimate was $3,000 less than closest.. One contractor wanted to gut entire bathroom at $12,000 +. Others wanted to do the tub surround system. Bill and Bob arrived on time and started to remove existing tile and plaster. After five minutes, it became apparent that the side wall was soaked through to the studs because original tile had not been sealed and no moisture barrier installed. Apprentice previous owners only took baths. Side wall plaster and studs were soaked up to a height of about 6 feet, and some moisture damage had started on back of bedroom wall, adjacent. After some consultation, we decided it was best to take out a small section of the bedroom wall and install extra studs beside the ones that had been water damaged. This added about 3 hours to the project total time estimate. Bill and Bob were fast, efficient and, I might add, great to work with. Funny guys. Project lasted 2 1/2 days. They tore out existing tile and walls, cut out a 3 x 5 section at the base of the bedroom wall, added insulation to the exterior bathroom wall, then installed cement board, including in the section of bedroom wall removed. Installed and ducted ceiling fan, which required working in the the tight. hot attic in 90-degree temps. Installed ceramic tile in tub/shower area. Installed new scald-proof faucet, shower head and faucet. Taped and sanded bedroom wall replacement section, making it paint-ready with no additional prep work required by me. Cleaned thoroughly. hauled away old materials. I would not hesitate to fire Bill again for any further kitchen/bathroom remodeling.

The workers (Paul, Scott and their assistants) were very competent professionals with many diverse home construction and repair skills. They discussed different options and followed the plan & expectations precisely and without "shortcuts". I was very pleased with everything they did.

I had estimates from Luxury Bath (Patete), Rebath, and Bathfitters. The estimates from all 3 companies were within $100 of each other to do the work. All of the reps were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I chose Bathfitters based on recommendations from 3 friends who had used them in the past. The Bathfitters rep was great to work with, accommodating to my work schedule, and set the tone for what would be a very positive experience. The people from Bathfitters consistently showed up on time and the company's customer service rep always called to remind me of appointments. The installation took place ahead of schedule. I was told the installed would arrive between 8-10 a.m and that it would be a one-day installation. He arrived at 9 a.m, got right to work, and by 4:30 the job was complete. The installer was very careful, laid drop cloths on the carpet and stairs, and cleaned up all the debris. The finished product was outstanding. We are very happy we chose Bathfitters for the work.

Mr. Pace visited our home, was very patient and listened to our ideas, request and concerns. He quickly submitted the quote and had no problems changing tasks around to help get the pricing to match our budget. Started on time and kept everything as clean as one would expect. The existing structural column in the garage was loose at the ground. Chris installed a screw out type "lolly column." This involved cutting out a section of the ceiling's drywall, removing the old column, installing the new one slightly down from the original spot, repairing the drywall and painting it to match the existing color, and finally repairing the surrounding concrete. What a wonderful job and all in one day! Of course, I expected nothing less since I used Sweet Success on two other occasions (October 2012 and June/July 2013) and was very impressed with the quality of work and professionalism. I will continuing using Sweet Success as my need for his expertise arises.

We are very pleased with the quality of service and the responsiveness we received from the entire team at Hutton. Although our project was small, it required several trades and the coordination of a few third parties. Hutton took the lead on the project as necessary, supplied all trades people, and coordinated with third parties. All the work performed was excellent and they remained flexible when timelines were skewed by others ensuring completion of the project in time for Christmas. This was an unplanned kitchen project which was required because of a long-standing, undetected dishwasher leak. Demolition of some cabinets, including the sink base, and removal of the countertop were necessary. Demolition is too strong a word to use because the cabinet fronts and drawers had to be preserved; care was necessary. Hutton built a temporary sink base for us so we'd have water in the kitchen, and they contracted with a custom woodworker who built two new cabinet interiors and reattached the existing cabinet fronts and drawers. At completion of the project, no one would know which cabinets were original and which were replacements. They realized our budget was an issue, so recommended sources who were more reasonable than ones we had found ourselves. This allowed us make some improvements in our bathrooms as well. An unscrupulous contractor could have easily highjacked our project and turned it into a total remodel. Because the Hutton team is ethical and resourceful, they worked with us to limit the scope, limit the cost, and ensured it didn't creep out of control. I recommend them highly.

The acoustical tile ceiling was buckling. Mr.McGinnis returned my call promptly and scheduled a meeting for the next day. Reviewed the situation completely, offered various solutions and a reasonable estimate. A time table was set. The day the work began the crew moved all furniture that I was unable to move and took down the ceiling fan. The work was completed on schedule. Care had been taken to protect everything from dirt and dust and the furniture was replaced back and the fan rehung. All workers were polite and friendly. The finished product was perfect.
