Recent Review: We had an old cement slab patio with a maple tree in the middle of it; the slab also covered part of our basement (and leaked horribly). Better living removed the old slab, poured a new smaller slab to prevent basement leaks, and built a composite deck encircling the tree with more room to spare. Their estimate was in the same range as other bids. They couldn't start the project for 6-8 weeks, but once they started everything went quickly. The demolition took a couple of days and the deck construction about two weeks. They adapted well on the fly. The deck couldn't be the shape we originally wanted because of tree roots - the whole point was to save the maple. We ended up with a slightly larger deck to go around the difficult roots and an extra step down into the yard and they never tried to tack on additional fees. All work was performed through subcontractors, but I'm perfectly happy with that - they did great work.

Recent Review: Lee, Bill, Johnny and many others did a great job on this project. It was by no means not a standard, straight-forward job! The concrete work was first class, and has held up perfectly for 12 months since the job was completed. We came across unexpected issues during construction (e.g root cellar under front door landing area, non functional clay pipe downspout system), but Lee and Johnny figured out great solutions in each case. Worked well with the architect and his drawings. After they were done, they cleaned up and did a great job re-mediating the surrounding landscape/lawn when the job was done. Highly recommended!

Recent Review: The construction started last fall with the excavation for the footer of the wall and then the wall was built on top of that. The wall was built with approximately 500 versa lok blocks. Once the wall was built it was backfilled with gravel to provide the proper drainage and then top soil was brought in to finish the leveling of the area. Once that was done a railing made of stone pillares with built in lights with cedar rails that had aluminum/bronze balusters was added to complete the railing. In the spring, after allowing the topsoil to settle over the winter, more top soil was brought in to put the finishing touches and leveling of the area, grass was planted and a wooden play/swingset was then erected with a 6x6 border and filled with mulch for my childrens safety. A paver patio approx 15x15 was also built by excavating an area and grading the area with gravel, base, and sand to level the area. The pavers were a design that includes a circle in the center and rectangle pavers around it and a concrete curb to finish the edges. The finishing touch was a stone firepit that was built into the pavers.

Recent Review: Gary and his crew couldn't have been more professional and efficient. My patio, which is above the basement, developed cracks over the years. As a result, during the winter months when snow and ice would accumulate, water would drip into the basement. Two other contractors wanted to cover the existing patio with 3 to 4 inches of concrete, basically putting a new patio over the old one. Very expensive, messy, time consuming and I felt, completely unnecessary. A+ came, and in one afternoon, repaired and resurfaced the old patio and it looks fantastic. I'm very happy with the result.

Recent Review: Gino had a very detailed plan. He and his crew removed brick sidewalk and patio and replaced with concrete. Installed drain. The concrete was fashioned for proper drainage of rain. Cleaned up after. Looks great! Gino also fixed a gate while he was here. Highly recommend.
