Mr Phaneuf, owner of Gracewood Enterprises, came to our house and gave the estimate. It was in line with others we had received. We accepted and work began 2 weeks later. The crew that was sent were courteous and punctual. The popcorn surface was removed. The first sign of trouble came when I questioned the crew as to why all the joints were not being repaired. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" was basically the response. As an uneducated homeowner, I mistakenly accepted this reasoning. The job was completed and paid for. Nine months later I noticed some minor separations at the tape joints. After four more months passed I noticed the separations were becoming more noticeable and numerous. I called Mr Phaneuf to explain the problem. He said he would stop by to take a look in a few days. When I called him back to arrange a time he informed me that he had "changed his mind" about coming. "Sorry, the warranty is up", he added. I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau. His written response in part read, "There is no guarantee for this kind of work past 90 days". It's hard to believe any contractor would put in writing that his work was only good for 90 days. A lesson learned. There are so many reputable hard working contractors out there, especially in this challenging economy. Look a little harder and bypass Al Phaneuf and Gracewood Enterprises

J R and his son were amazing. I needed a portion of my popcorn ceiling and wall repaired due to water damage. They were professional, courteous, and did an amazing job. The popcorn matches the rest of the ceiling perfectly, you'd never know any work was done and I was told by two other companies that was not possible. The wall was patched, painted, and looks great as well. Would hire again in a heartbeat

Rudolf, the German owner of Holden Handymen Inc. and a very friendly person, came to the estimate appointment in time. I got a good rate on the work, considered what was included. When they started the work, Rudolf and his helper started every workday at 9 am. They covered the floor with plastic, took good care of all my new furniture. Work was absolutely professional and the result was more than what I expected. Rudolf and his helper made the work a nice experience. It was a pleasure working with such a nice craftsman. I never had to pay any upfront cost, Rudolf said: "You pay on the end of the project and only "when you are completely satisfied". Holden Handymen Inc. has only prescribed workers employed (very important to my security) He is properly licensed and ensured and has very good references. When I am ready to paint the exterior of my house I will definitely call Rudolf

We are remodeling our kitchen, and had a pesky soffit and popcorn ceiling we wanted removed. We called A.P.C. and discussed what we wanted done to the kitchen, Andre stopped by the house with a contract, he explained to us the process and a time frame. The price he quoted us, we felt was reasonable. He arrived at the time he said he would be at the house. Andre also gave us a few suggestions for the kitchen lighting, which we thought was great. He cleaned up after himself each and every evening. Not like the electrician, we hired which left the kitchen a mess. Andre, also went above and beyond and fixed a hole in the wall which the electrician left behind without us asking him to do so. thank you Andre for that. Andre is professional and respectful. Our overall experience with this first time company is thumbs up, we are 110% satisfied with the work he provided us. Excellent! Mike Patterson was terrific. The areas that needed attention are so well blended that you cannot tell there was ever a repair needed. Handyman Connection pays attention to detail. We were advised that for our initial appointment Mr. Patterson was running late thirty minutes prior to our appointment time! Plus we were given a time of when he would be at our home. Mr. Patterson contacted us the day prior to the start of the job to inform us of his arrival time and actually arrived thirty minutes ahead of time. He is professional, courteous and considerate, willing to answer any questions we had whether it related to the job at hand or anything else in our home

David Mc Namara is the owner. He does all my work. I can't say enough good things about this guy and that's how good he is. He came over for 30 minutes. He is fixing a bathroom for me next month. I found him through my neighbor who's not really easy to please, so she really likes him and I thought he got to be great. She never had anything bad to say about him, so I hired him. It is just he and his helper. He does a great work. I would definitely recommend him. His pricing is very reasonable. They clean up after themselves. They are really nice. If he gets the things for cheaper than he will get it for me. He is very responsive to my needs

This was as good as it gets; Dave was early for his appointment; got right to work; hung plastic protection, moved blown-in ceiling insulation, removed damaged drywall, installed new drywall, taped, mudded, sprayed new popcorn ceiling, replaced ceiling insulation, and cleaned up; I had expected all this to take most of the day; start to finish took 2 1/2 hours; don't try this at home......this guy is good.............

After calling on Monday to approve the job, they came by on Thursday to review what supplies were required. The work needed to be broken up into 3 phases from November to January so that we could have our furniture stored in rooms not under construction and to have another vendor install floor tile in the space as well. JR worked with us to schedule the 3 phases and was very flexible to do the work over a 2 1/2 month period. JR was very focused on ensuring that the work was done to our satisfaction. Even when I decided that I wanted heavier texture on the ceiling, after he had already painted it. He re-did the work and ensured that the remaining ceilings were completed with the same amount of texture. He also always showed up with a positive attitude and really seems to enjoy the work that he does. We did all of the prep work to ensur that the space was ready for the scope of his work. When there were issues that we didn't know how to resolve to patch wall corners, he just fixed them for us so that his end product would be a good one. The condo is almost 30 years old and we found several things through the work that the builder had taken shortcuts with. Especially the poor installation of the original front door. JR resolved these issues prior to installing the new door and frame. JR is a perfectionist and is very focused on ensuring that his client has 100% satisfaction. His son doesn't seem to be as interested in doing the work, or getting the work done right. Unfortunately JR had to go behind some of his son's work. He had another helper, a lady who assisted him with painting. She was awesome and thorough with the work. He should consider using her to assist more and letting his son find a job that he enjoys more. I would definitely recommend JR and will use him again in the future

Todd was professional, well spoken, prompt and efficient. He did an excellent job on the ceiling and painting the rooms. He also hung wall art, changed light fixtures, installed plant hangars,and assisted in paint color choice. He cleaned up after himself every time he came. We trusted him completely and he had a key to our home during the work. I would highly recommend Todd Thomas and plan to have him return for more work in the near future

The finished job was great except for some minor things. The estimated price was good as well until we got the final bill. Be prepared to pay for screws, sponges, etc. We have 6 dogs and the carpenter who did most of our work, Andrew, enjoyed the dogs. That was very helpful since they didn't have to be locked up while he was here. You will need to get a receipt for everything and watch what they buy and throw out. I had a lot of wasted materials that they wanted me to pay for. Also, keep an eye on your outside faucet. That's where they clean up. 3 times they left the water running. It would have been nice if the owner had shown up a bit more often. We saw him at the beginning and the end. It appears he uses his phone to run his business. I asked him twice to come over and check on a problem I had and he never showed claiming my husband said he couldn't come until 9am which my husband never said. It was requested not to begin work until 9 because we need to take care of the dogs first thing. Seems Vinny only does house calls between 8-8:30. We were never told that. All in all the workmanship was done well. Not sure what we had to put up with was all worth it though

Dave came on time on the day of our appointment and advised us on the best way to move forward with the project. He is very respectful and courteous. He is busy but he will not jump from job to job. Once he starts your project, he will not jump to another one until he is done with yours. we patiently waited for him and his was time well spent; The project went like a breeze. Dave considers our inputs seriously and takes the time to explain the impact of each scenario. He is not the cheapest handyman on the block and you are not going to break the bank. I find his pricing very reasonable. His professionalism warrants every dollar. I would recommend Dave to anyone who wants a job well done in a reasonable time.
