Richard demanded payment prior to starting this installation - or he threatened to walk off the job. As all materials were on site, we compromised and I cut a check, and left it in a neutral space until the days work had been completed. The color of the surface is supposed to be a consistent blue. Work took approx 8 hours, and rain came in the last hour. The pool surface did not look to be the same color in all areas, however they said that this would correct within 30 days when brushed each day. Two thirds of the pool came out alright, however the other one third does not match at all, and were told that there is an excess calcification buildup which either means drain the pool and acid washing - or resurfacing the pool. I spoke with Richard about this, and he said that he would call me back to set a time for him to come out and come up with a game plan. Since then, Richard will not take my calls - or return any messages. He is aligned with Advanced Watershapes - a swimming pool contractor in Minneola Florida, and this is also indicative of how unresponsive that they are in dealing with any issues. They are the ones that enlisted Richard Henson to do this job, however will not take any responsibility for this poor work either. You will see that first pic shows the correct color - and the sending one showing the third of the pool that is defective. FYI, this pool contractor took a full 12 months to finish out permits for this project, however has still not completed all work, or addressed punch list issues. The F rating is because he has failed to fix this poor work. I would suggest that anyone hiring a pool company to also check Sunbiz.org to do some investigation, and also to check with your county website to verity how long it takes them to finish out permits, see how many inspection "fails" are associated with their company, and to see how many current and past customers that they have. Most county websites will give you enough information to contact others that have hired your contractor before, so you are not swayed by only specific "preferred" references from a contractor.
