Reviews in Oklahoma City to Install Bamboo Flooring

Urban Kitchens
2.0
This started off as an awesome experience. The owner was wonderful in helping us figure out what we wanted to do, which involved a lot of time before they ever got paid for anything. She took us around to shops, suggested ideas, and was patient when we chucked out one kitchen scheme in favor of something entirely different. The design of both the kitchen and bathroom are wonderful, and we'd never have gotten there without the extra help that this full-service company provided. The details really do make the overall project just fantastic. Their tile contractors deserve a special shout-out. Truly beautiful work. Another great part of this project was their willingness to adjust with changing decisions and to modify the plan if something didn't look right. There were several re-paints when the first color wasn't quite right, and some moving of towel bars and light strips that were done without our even having to ask. They also re-ordered some cabinet doors when the first once were warped and didn't hang straight. This project wasn't cheap, but we mostly felt that we were getting what we paid for in terms of design assistance and additional service. It also wasn't fast. There were some weather issues, holidays, and perpetual problems with contractor's childcare. The work took 6 months, and much of that time we were without a functioning kitchen. But they generally responded to email so we would know what was happening, which I appreciated. Here's where things have gone bad. The bamboo flooring began coming up in several areas of the house after only a month or so. Urban Kitchens has been slow to address this problem - they were first notified on April 30 - and so far all we have is big holes cut out of the floor to test the glue and some tests that they said would determine whether the cause was the wet spring. Now we've heard nothing for months. I was hopeful things would be resolved, but it seems like they have just decided to ignore us. If things change, I'll update the review. But for now, I'd advise caution.

SIERRA VIEW FLOORING
5.0
Matias and his guys showed up on time and got to work immediately. My husband and I had already installed the same flooring in our master bedroom and they were able to continue the pattern into our living room without having to use a transition. They finished in less than a day but left some tools in place to weigh down some t-molding while the adhesive dried/cured. They returned promptly the next morning, even though it was Saturday, to remove the painter's tape and clean up. They did a professional job from beginning to end and paid great attention to detail, including thorough cleaning/vacuuming of saw dust and dirt. Our floor looks great! I'd definitely recommend Sierra View flooring to my friends :)

BRYAN'S FLOORING
3.0
I hired Bryan’s Flooring to install carpet in my media room and laminate flooring in the rest of the house. The carpet install went smoothly and looks great. I am pleased with how it turned out. The laminate flooring is another story. I was looking for a hard surface flooring that could pair with my existing hardwood floor. My main concern was to find a floor with the same thickness as my hardwood floor so the transition from one surface to another would be as level as possible. I was under the impression that Bryans would make that happen. What I ended up with is two flooring surfaces that are not level. I looked at several products, but settled on a laminate flooring by Inhaus. The problem, was that I assumed Bryan’s would only show me products that would meet my criteria of having a level floor. I assumed wrong. The Inhaus laminate was a 7mm that could only accept a 2-3mm underlayment (they ordered the 2mm underlayment, when 3mm could have been used). What I really needed a product closer to 9mm with a 3mm underlayment. It wasn’t until the flooring was being installed that I realized the difference in floor heights. By this time, my only choices were to stay with an uneven floor or wait several weeks, or possible months, for a thicker underlayment to be put on order. Being that all my furniture was in the garage waiting for floors to be put in, I had no choice but to accept the uneven floors. What I want you to take away from this lesson, is to always verify the specifications of the materials being used on your project. Don’t assume that by hiring “professionals”, they will do this work for you. If you want a floor to match the height of your existing floor, you must do the research yourself, that is, if you decide to go with Bryan’s Flooring. The last thing I would like to mention didn’t affect the final look and finish of the floor, but rather the attention to detail, or lack thereof, on the laminate install. When the installers pulled of the baseboards to run the floor closer to the wall, they failed to run a razor along the top of the baseboard to separate the paint from the wall that may be sticking to the baseboard. This resulted in paint peeling off the wall in one of the rooms. While touching up the paint is not a big deal, it could have been avoided by taking a few seconds to score the joint with a sharp edge. Lastly, the laminate installers failed to wipe down the new floor when they were done. When they finished and were gone, I was left with a dirty, new floor. Taking the time to wipe up construction debris caused by the floor install is just common sense. No customer wants to clean their new floor, minutes after it was installed. They should have taken the extra time to wipe everything down so that I could be presented with a fresh new floor. All in all, I give Bryan’s Flooring a C and sadly, would not use them again. While the sales staff is friendly and personable, I believe they lack the expertise to ensure their customers get exactly what they are looking for, at least in my case.

TEMPLE-JOHNSON FLOOR CO INC

Exceptional!!! Bryan and his team were prompt, courteous, and true craftsmen. The project was done on budget, on time, and the finished floors and stairs are absolutely gorgeous. After the floors were complete, and my husband and I were moving the furniture back into the room, we managed to put a good size scratch in the floor with our VERY heavy adjustable bed. I totally freaked! Absolutely our fault, but Bryan had his crew back out to fix the problem and we're back to beautiful floors once again. Could not be more pleased, and highly recommend Temple-Johnson Floors to anyone considering hardwood floors!

Bert Henry Carpet and Tile, Inc.
5.0
I would absolutely hire Bert Henry again for my next flooring job. Not only is he a very professional business man but he is very personable as well. Bert came out the day after I contacted him about needing my floor done and was quick to take measurements, give his professional advice and get me a rough estimate. Once we decided on flooring I was promptly scheduled for my floor install. The employee that installed the flooring was very polite and professional and he did a fantastic job. Bert will be getting more business from me in the future.

Recent Review: Lee was great to work with. I had a hard time finding someone who would could repair the flooring and the door. Most contractors told me they would need to take up my entire floor just to repair the few pieces. Lee communicated promptly, did an excellent job (he's a perfectionist) and cleaned up afterwards. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it. Would definitely use him again.

Recent Review: Beautiful product, good prices. Only issue was a delay in shipping of several weeks due to inventory. This delay caused issues with scheduling on a whole-house renovation and it would have been quite useful to know about upfront, rather than having to call them repeatedly for updates. When the flooring finally arrived, weeks late, it was beautiful and in very good shape. I would use them again, but I would order much earlier than needed to allow for any delays.

Recent Review: I used Old World Hardwood Floors to do a hardwood floor installation on my rental that had water damage. Originally Randy Waters - the owner - quoted me $7.75 a square foot to do the job so I hired him as he had done some previous work for me. After the installation was complete yet still required sanding and finishing he told me the price would now be $8.50 a square foot because he had to make so many trips to the job. I wasn't in the mood to argue so after some bickering we settled on $5850 turn key installed sanded and finished which was $8.50 a square foot plus reducer . I scheduled the sanding and finishing for the 23-25th of October. Randy and his guys never showed up nor did they call. When I contacted Randy he said it would be the end of the week and his guys would work through the weekend. Monday came... still no show and no call. I finally spoke with Randy and he said it would be the end of the week and I informed him that I had carpet coming in the following monday and need it done so I could get my renters back in. He said they could get it done. Thursday comes and he informs me it will again be the following week because he had a big job for a builder that he had to re-sand and finish because the owner changed their mind on the color. I texted Randy and this is how it went down. " Randy, I know you have bigger customers but the small ones count too. I was on the schedule a week ago. Last week you said you would get me done and work through the weekend. Then it was the end of this week and you would work through this weekend. Can you move another job where people aren't going to e put on the street as my renters now will be since I'll have to move the carpet now which is a week out and their temporary residence is no longer available after this week? If the homeowner changed their mind... they should now realize that they'll have to wait? This was his response. "Your right all customers matter to me but a builder that spends 1/2 million a year on floors gets what he wants they are trying to close on this house if you need to get somebody else believe me I understand you renters need to get back to normal" So there you have it. This is how he treats his customers. If you schedule with him just hope the big guy who "gets what he wants" doesn't call in the middle of your job. It gets better though. This incident made me look at the previous invoice from when he had re-finished the floors in the same house a year earlier prior to the water damage. The insurance adjuster measured the hardwood floors for the claim at 558' while Randy charged me to re-finish 618'. Then for the new job - same address - he wrote the invoice for 640'. Now an install job will have waste I get that. I called several flooring companies and all of them said 7-10% is standard waste. So if you take the insurance measurement of 558 and add 10% you still don't get to 640'. So he flat out over charged me for the original re-finish and also jacked up the square footage again on the new invoice. I informed him that I would write this very unemotional matter of fact review via text and this is what he replied. " Don't give a $&%t about the internet I have been in business too long". Well, we all know how people find service providers these days. Maybe he will start to care now. So, if you decide to use Old World Hard Wood Floors then be prepared for terrible customer service, price changes mid job, and some potentially funny math when he sends you the bill.
