Reviews for Countertop Refinishing in Oklahoma City

Quality Countertops, Inc.
5.0
We contacted three local companies and received estimates from each one. The estimate from Quality Countertops, Inc. was the best estimate and the work could be completed at an earlier date than the other companies. Todd came to our home to show us some Formica samples and provide the estimate. After we decided to have Quality Countertops, Inc. do the countertop replacement, we communicated via email and phone to set up a date for the work to be completed. Todd personally built and installed the new countertops and left the work area clean. We are pleased with the workmanship and the professionalism shown during our contact with Todd and will recommend him to friends.

Working with Tom and Robert is like working with family. They have done several countertops for me over the last 20 years. I have Corian in the bathrooms and just last month they installed Wilsonart Sangda Falls in the kitchen. Last year they installed Cabria Delgatie in my sons kitchen. The entire staff is professional and so easy to work with. Tom spent part of an afternoon helping me choose samples. Their workmanship is top notch, from measuring to installation, the countertops are beautiful. Thank you. Looking forward to working with you in the future.

1st off their pricing is very good. We were going to go with a Martha Stewart Corian at $68 per sq. foot and ended up finding L&L at half that price for their "regularly" priced granite. Then we spotted a particular piece of their upper tier granite and couldn't resist it. It was still $13 per sq. foot cheaper and they don't up-charge for edge finish like the big box stores do so that was a bonus. L&L is not very good at working with you on how to cut the granite for the seams. We were told that the biggest piece would have two seams which we already had pretty much planned on so that was no real surprise. When discussing this with them I asked about the most obvious one of the two in our layout and asked if they could cut it a certain way to make the grain match (I explained what I wanted on the actual slab we were getting). They said that they couldn't cut it that way, it would require two seams, but it would still look good. When they show up to install guess what? The biggest piece only has one seam in it! Now that would be great but... naturally they place the seam in the area that is the focal point of the bar! On the other end where nobody would ever think a thing about it? There is no seam. Like I said before, we were planning on a seam being there so it's not the end of the world. But it is disappointing to see that there could have been no seam at all on the largest section in the most obvious area of our kitchen/dining area. I suspected when I was asking that they were trying to utilize the granite left over after our install to be in the biggest pieces possible for other sales. I don't know if that's the case now or not since it showed up with exactly what I was wanting them to do and them telling they couldn't do it, only it was reversed. In the end they do look nice and is probably no worse than anyone else would have done. The installation guys do good work leveling and seaming but they are not real detail oriented. Here are my issues. I have two small pieces on each side of our glass top electric range. Two issues here: 1) They could have cut it for a closer fit to the glass top of the range and 2) the edges here are not highly polished at all. I'll probably polish them myself. It really wouldn't be an issue but with as much gap as they left it is noticeable. Had they cut it "tighter" it would not be an issue at all. Another issue with the installation was the mess. We had all the cabinets cleaned out thankfully, but under the sink was where I placed my almost new garbage disposal after I tore out the old countertops. It was covered in "mud" from them cutting the sink cutout. It took me an hour to get it looking respectable again and I had to do a lot of cleaning under the sink. I know it's a messy job, but they could have done a lot better. Also, just have them forgo the sealing altogether and do it yourself. They just apply a few sprays of some cheap 6 month sealer in random spots anyway as kind of an afterthought. It most certainly isn't sealed properly. Go down to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy the good Dupont 5 year sealer and do it yourself, it's not hard. I stated that I would use them again based on hindsight being 20/20. If it were another large kitchen job I'd take a look at others but if L&L had the granite I wanted and since I now know to communicate my requirements to them, I'd purchase from them again. They will probably deliver a quality job to you with this in mind. I'm going to be doing my bathroom counters and will likely have them replaced by L&L. Their pricing is just too good to pass up. I gave them a C rating on quality because a B- wasn't an option. If the detail on measuring and the edge finishing by my range were a little better I would have considered their installation a solid B or possibly an A-. This would have me putting their overall at a B rating.

They quickly scheduled an estimate. Very detailed measurement process and estimate given on the spot. They saved info for several months until we were ready to proceed. Lots of choices in materials. After 1/2 deposit, they scheduled installation. They are very busy, but were able to schedule us for two weeks out. Came out again to make a detailed template of the counters, and actually came out earlier than expected for installation. Teams are very focused and professional. Large project installed in about four hours time. Only challenge in the whole project is language barrier. I highly recommend for a great, high end product at very reasonable price point.

The folks at L&L were fantastic. We just needed our bathroom counter replaced and some of the other folks on town either wanted much more in price then L&L or they were interested because it was a small job. We picked out the slab at their store front, they sent a tech out to measure and their install crew was very fast! The only issue was day of install they got backed up, but honestly, when doesn't that happen?! I have already suggested them to friends and plan on using their services for our kitchen.

MARBLE DESIGNS INC

The overall experience was excellent. The company's expertise was demonstrated from start to finish in the professional, yet friendly, way the office staff, measurement person, and installers approached and completed the job. Marble Designs gives personal service, has a good selection available, and tries to help you meet your needs. I was impresssed with the fact that Denise Kerstine made every effort to work within my budget. She helped with design factors, even in areas where products would not be purchased from Marble Designs, asking questions so that I would be pleased with the final result of my kitchen remodel. I was definitely pleased with the way the granite countertop looks, and coordinates with my cabinets and flooring. The installers were extremely careful, and their expertise was very evident. They worked to have the countertop look just right, and it does! I was contacted after the installation to make sure that I was satisfied. It was a successful experience.

Signed contract on March 30, 2017 for delivery and installation on Monday, May 1. On April 26, I emailed Paul, the sales rep, to get confirmation the counters would be delivered (I had already removed the existing backsplash and just needed to pull out the old tile countertops). I received no response. On April 28, I sent another email - still no response. I finally contacted him by phone and learned they did not have enough granite in stock and had to order it from the mine in Chile. They still had not received it and could not set a delivery date until it arrived. SO, why did no one inform me of the status when the knew they could not deliver per the contract? Next issue: The counter was scheduled to be delivered June 28. On that date, they broke 3 of the pieces in transit. Aztec Fabricators (Hoffman's partner?) did a rush job to produce replacement pieces. The granite is supposedly sealed but seems to soak up any liquid that touches it. I tried to contact Mark at Aztec to ask if they had sealed the pieces before delivery. NO RESPONSE. i contacted the sales rep to ask if he knew whether the pieces had been sealed and to get feedback on caring for the granite. He promised he would call the fabricator and get right back to me. 2 weeks later Paul still has not returned my calls. They finally sent technicians who determined it really was not sealed!!! On October 2, they replaced the granite and sent a plumber to hook up the sink, garbage disposer and dishwasher. I originally gave Hoffman an F rating, but the quality of the new counter top - and the plumber - pulled them up to a C.

Bob did the repair and it looked good. He also reinstalled the drawer glides so that they would remain closed. That had been a problem for years! Now they work properly. But then I showed him a lazy susan that was binding up and not working properly (too much weight). He suggested replacing it with pull out drawers. That sounded cool. Long story short, we ended up replacing shelves with pull out drawers in all the lower cabinets. They work beautifully, look great, and have seriously improved my kitchen's usefulness. As always, Bob called when he said he would, came when he said he would, finished when he said he would.

Recent Review: The job was done in an acceptable time frame and the quality was very good. The crew cleaned-up after themselves and left no trace of being there. They cleaned the tubs during prep and caulked them after job was done. These guys know what they are doing. Now, 2 weeks later, the tubs still look and feel great. Would definitely use this service again and highly recommend. (I'm a very picky customer) I am going to have them do my countertop!

Recent Review: Handymen R Us put together a pre-fab metal shed that I had purchased at a big box store. They picked it up at the store for me and brought it to my house. They constructed a pre-treated wood floor for it and installed it in a couple of days. The metal panels of the shed were pretty flimsy and there were hundreds of screws, so I felt the did any excellent job to get the shed put together in that amount of time. They replaced the tiles in the floor of my master bathroom shower. It looks nice and Jacob made the job look easy. He also installed crown molding in the master bedroom and in the dining room. He painted and sealed around all the edges. The first paint color did not match the rest of the trim, so he repainted it with matching paint. They also replaced the old formica countertops with granite, installed a new sink and faucet, re-plumbed under the sink, installed a new gas line and new gas range top; installed a water line and a pot-filler faucet; backplash, new electrical line for the range top; new electrical outlets and plates. The kitchen looks beautiful and I was very pleased with the work.Vic is great. He works with you and unless you make changes along the way, the price he quotes you is the price you pay. I was very pleased with Handymen R Us and I will use them again next time I need work done.

Recent Review: This is the third time I have hired Mr. Shane Jenkins to do work at my house. He replaced 2 bathroom sink drains, one bathtub drain, and bathroom hardware. He installed a new 6 light bar above my bathroom vanity. He hung a large mirror in my hallway and replaced the entryway light. In the kitchen he replaced the light above the sink and the ceiling light. He also had me return a bathroom drain system which I did not need and saved me the labor and the cost of the drain system that I did not need. He also gave me the box with the number of the light bulbs for my vanity light which I thought was very considerate because these lights are not the standard lights you find in regular light fixtures and therefore saved me the trouble of trying to locate them when they go out. I had no problem leaving him in my house while I went to the hardware store to return the drain system I had purchased and spent some time locating another drain by itself. I trust him completely. He was on time and was very professional and worked quickly. I highly recommend him and will hire in the future. He knows plumbing and electrical wiring. He also offers advice when asked. Thank you Shane!

Recent Review: They were very professional, helpful and responsive in answering questions and giving us a quote. Recent Review: I had already selected my slab from Daltile and worked with Roberta to get an estimate and installation scheduled. I was able to come on to their site and select which parts of the slab would be in each area of my kitchen. This was important to me, as their was a fair amount of movement in my granite (not uniform throughout). They were professional and accommodating throughout the process. Overall, a great experience, highly recommend!

Recent Review: They were very helpful in planning the project and selecting the granite. My wife was very particular about getting a specific look and they patiently worked with her until she found the right slabs. They were always punctual, courteous, and helpful throughout the measuring and installation process. A year later, the seams are all good, nothing has cracked, and our countertops are as good as the day they were installed. However, some of the work was not perfect. There were a couple of problems that they were able to correct for us: - They switched the backsplash in one bathroom with a piece that should have gone in the other bathroom (different granite style). When we noticed they came back and switched it for us. - The dishwasher was not anchored when they put it back into the cabinet. We didn't notice until the next day when we tried to wash the dishes. At first, they told us there wasn't room to properly anchor the dishwasher, but when we insisted, they came back and fixed it. A couple of issues, we just have to live with: - The seam on our main kitchen countertop was not where we were told it would be. During planning, their representative said the seam would be by the sink where it would be short and unobtrusive. However, our seam is right through the biggest part of the food preparation area and the granite pattern's movement is jarringly different between the two pieces. - We paid extra for an optional edge cut on the kitchen countertops. For some reason, the color on this edge is noticeably lighter than the rest of the granite.
