Reviews for Metal Stairs in New York Tristate Area

Bryan's Handyman & Home Improvement Service
5.0
I purchased the drop down stairs from Lowes and contacted Bryan to install them. Bryan and his guys did a great job in both the removal of the old stairs and the installation of the new one. Without asking, they took the old stairs and the new box with them and cleaned up my garage. Very professionally done!

Flavio was excellent! He listens to the homeowners requests and handles them professionally. My wife and I would definitely hire him again. In a house there is always work to be done. It is hard to find professional labor to do tasks around the house without an agrument. Thanks.

HELT CONTRACTING

THEY ORIGINALLY DID THE WORK 35 YEARS AGO. I'VE KNOWN THEM ALL MY LIFE. THEY PUT IN THE NEW ATTIC STEPS FOR ME AND FIXED THE BOARDS IN THE STAIRS THAT WERE WARPED. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THE WORK WAS EXCELLENT.

Gabriel's Iron Works

They demolished and removed the deck and the large mountain of wood that made up the deck and the attached swingset. They solidly anchored supports for the new stairs into the wall of the building, and assembled, finished and painted the new deck and stairs. They arrived promptly at 8:30, immediately got to work and worked tirelessly until the job was finished. They cleaned up the area and were overall very professional. We would not hesitate to use them again or recommend their services.

A GA-Stairs & Railing & Carpentry
5.0
GA-stairs and Railing is an excellent company. Mr. Heraldo Slater and his workers were very professional as well as punctual. The work that was done was phenomenal. I expected the work to take at least two weeks or more, because other contractors were telling me the length of time. In all actuality it only took a week. I am impressed with the work and will hire GA-Stairs and Railing to renovate my patio this spring. If anyone is looking for precision, puncuality, dedication, professionalsim, and price friendly work, I highly recommend Mr.Slater and his crew.

D&G WELDING & IRON WORKS INC
5.0
Gene reinstalled the metal railing on the stair case after it was rebuilt as well as replaced 6 post legs. Prompt response from Gene to my original request. Good communication thought entire process. The team showed up exactly on the day that we agreed on and worked entire day to completed the job entirely. I couldn't be happier with the end result. Will definitely use Dand G WELDING and IRON WORKS if I need to do any more iron work around the house.

American Stair and Rail Artisans
5.0
I am not sure why someone would give a company an F for not responding. touchy, touchy. My experience with American Stairs was good - their professionalism was the high point, and they were punctual and efficient. The job was rather simple but they went slightly above and beyond and got an additional part to reinforce without charging me. That was a nice touch, even though it was a small part. I've already recommended them to others in the area.

Better By Butler Inc
5.0
Charlie responded to my phone call promptly, though you won't get a secretary answering ''Better by Butler'' but rather Just Charlie saying ''hello''. He measured, gave us a quote, and a date and time of installation. On the set date, he called to cancel due to another project running long but gave us a convenient date and time days later. He was a little late in arriving but it was well worth it. The removal of the existing stairs was more difficult than expected (when you own a home, isn't that ALWAYS the case?) and the new metal stairs came with directions that required a rocket science degree. After quite a few hours, they were finally complete. Better By Butler was meticulous in the installation and the cleanup, staying until everything was perfect. We didn't even have to vacuum! And, despite the installation being much more difficult then anticipated and taking a long time, the bill remained the same as his original estimate. Classy.

Piscopo Iron Works
5.0
It went great. They were able to come sooner than originally thought. They took down the wood stair I was replacing so all I had to do was get someone to remove the rubbish (most was rotted and not worth salvaging). They did a fast, professional installation that I'm very happy about. I used them prior to this to modify my front gate and I will call them again if I need an iron worker in the future. V

Nailit Handyman
1.0
I am writing this review to warn anyone considering using Nail It Handyman to find another Handyman service. I should have realized that any company that requires you to give them your credit card number prior to performing any service to be a big red flag. I was assured by Thom that my card would not be charged until the work was completed. I was also told that I would be billed one hundred and ten dollars per hour spent by the handyman working on the project. I sent in four pictures of my deck stairs that needed to be repaired to give him an idea of what the project entailed. Their handyman came to my home three hours late. He was supposed to be there at twelve p.m. and he showed up at three p.m. He looked at the job and said that the stairs would need to be replaced and he could not do that work. The handyman was at my house approximately five minutes. He called his boss and was told to tell me that I would be charged 150.00 dollars for his handyman coming to my house. My charge card was charged 178.00 dollars for this fiasco and apparently since a handyman actually showed up at my house for five minutes and did not do any work, I have no recourse. Avoid this company at all costs. They are dishonest and they misrepresented their terms. They did send me an agreement to sign via email and I did not sign it. I am planning to contact the Better Business Bureau regarding this company. Unfortunately, they had my credit card number and that is how they operate this scam. I contacted their customer service regarding the charges approximately seven times and I never received a response.

Mike's Handyworks Inc
5.0
Michael left Michael a phone message several weeks ago and he promptly returned my call to ask about the details of my project and set up an appointment for an estimate. He confirmed the appointment via e-mail and arrived on time and quoted me a fair price. He was unable to keep his original date to perform work but he contacted me in a reasonable time and we were able to re-schedule. Michael also honored the angies list discount several weeks after discussing price. He arrived on time yesterday and completed the stair case to my satisfaction and fixed the fence for free. I was very happy with Michael's consistent and prompt communication. Highly recommend, would definitely hire again.

They were really great to work with and the staircase looks great. I always get compliments on the staircase when they walk into my home. I would definitely use them again and refer them to others as well.

American Stair and Rail Artisans
5.0
After having SEVERAL other contractors tell us that the railing couldn't be matched, or just refusing to do the job because it wasn't "big" enough... we finally got a very reasonable estimate from American Stair & Rail... and had a good impression of Peter who estimated the job. He seemed knowledgeable and offered lots of suggestions about how we could possibly widen the railing in places where it was too narrow to move furniture upstairs. We couldn't be more pleased with the final results... American Stair matched the spindles of the original staircase PERFECTLY and even the hand rail which others told us couldn't be matched. Bob, who did the carpentry work, is a true craftsman. I never thought they would have been able to make the rickety part of the railing sturdy again, but now it's as sturdy as a mac truck! The only thing that American Stair & Rail couldn't do (and they were up front about this from the very first estimate) was match the newel post caps which look like they were originally made custom for our staircase. But even then, Rene and Susan bent over backwards to try to find a good match... and when it couldn't be done, they provided us with all new matching caps for the whole staircase, and also gave us some suggestions for millworkers in case we ever wanted to have custom matching caps made at a later time. American Stair and Rail represents the type of old school artisans and family-style run businesses that are unfortunately all too rare these days. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Carpentry by Rudolph
5.0
After starting a bathroom remodel with a contractor with limited skills, I knew I was in trouble. An internet search for a carpenter near me resulted in a 7:30am meeting with Rudolph. He showed up and quickly turned my failing project around. Rudolph had the skill and creativity I was looking for. He helped me to achieve my vision. I was so pleased with his excellent work and fair pricing, I expanded the project to include several needed upgrades and a beautiful staircase crafted by Rudolph! I highly recommend Rudolph and his crew of gentlemen!

Recent Review: I had stairs put on the front of my house. I had a porch added on. The stairs ended up really high. I called him and he answered right away. He came over very quickly. He gave me a portfolio to look at that was out of this world. He has done work around so many places. He has done work all over the place. He was very fair priced. He was well worth the wait. He was absolutely fantastic. He was so caring and so neat. He did other things that went above and beyond.
