My attic fan was not turning off properly. I requested an estimate to repair or replace. My call was returned within 24 hours and someone was sent to my house within 24 hours. He gave me 2 options: thermostat replacement or a replacement fan since mine was currently old. I opted for the replacement fan. While there, he replaced a basement light fixture free of charge since it was cracked and not functioning. A very considerate thing to do. I scheduled the work to be done on Saturday but unfortunately the electrician called in sick - those things happen, I understand. Another electrician was sent in to do the job on Saturday and while very polite and professional, he was clearly overbooked and not equipped to do the job quoted. He suggested to simply replace the thermostat which I accepted since I needed it done. He had to go to the local Lowes store to get the part and when he came back he promptly installed it. Today, 3 weeks later, it is functioning fine. I appreciate that One Call accommodated the originally scheduled work despite being down one less worker. It made life much easier for me given it was the only available time I had free. I was willing to compromise on the work done given this circumstance. If anything, I saved money on it since the original quote to replace the fan was approximately $350 and the replacement thermostat only cost me about $160. I would use them again.
