The owner and his assistant spent 9 hours at home trying to repair my fire place. He owner was in and out all day picking up supplies, which I didn't understand because he had seen the job and what needed to be done before coming to do the job. They added pipe work as a part of the repair, it was done incorrectly. You expect that any pipe work will be flush against your home, this wasn't the case. The pipe was 4 inches away from the house which not only made it look ugly it wasn't practical. I called him to express my concerns with the job and he said he would come back to repair it as soon as possible. Two days passed, I didn't hear from him, I did the repairs on my own. I had to purchased all the pipes at my own expense in took me one hour to complete the work. When I got a hold of him again he agreed to refund me $68, because I had to re-pipe everything at my own. In addition I asked him to install some logs I already purchased because I wasn't able to install them myself. He charged $135 just for installation, which I found out after they left, by reading the instructions, they did wrong. He also repaired a hole in the wall for which he charged $185, I have included a photo, I don't think this is an appropriate chargefor this work. He is a great chimney sweep, I've used him for this before, but he is not well prepare for any other jobs. He is a nice guy and I would recommend him for chimney sweeping, because he did a great job, but I wouldn't recommend him for additional work.
