Jeff of all Trades

Jeff did quick work of this project, gave several options for materials and placement, and did a professional job. Oh, and his assistant pruned my banana trees when he learned I injured my ankle and can't use a ladder!

He is a down to earth person. He is extremely honest and does a good job. I couldn't get anybody to do the repair in my mobile home wall. And he did it quickly and didn't take long at all.

Lamp Design + Build

The company was very knowledgable about new IBC Construction Codes and FEMA Flood rules, zones and elevation requirements. They finished the job on time and within budget and they were very helpful during the process in dealing with lenders, permits and vendors. One thing that is very important to me is that the jobsite was kept cleaned up, there was a minimal amount of debris left at the site and the workers were required to clean up after themselves each day. I would highly recommend Lamp Properties for new construction, rennovation and repair

Late one afternoon a closet rack broke and came away from the wall. I contacted Angie's list through my mobile app, took a video of the broke rack, and submitted it around 6 pm. Allan was at my house the next morning around 10:30, with the proper parts already purchased to complete the job. He reinstalled the rack, anchored it with toggle bolts and screws, and used extra brackets mounted to studs, making it very secure and sturdy. All finished before noon, and on a holiday weekend

It took a while, more than one visit but a lot of work was involved. We have had no problems since the repair. When I needed more work, I called them. They came within 24 hours and completed the work. .

I got a quote from Brandon and decided to move forward with them for my whole home generator. He was very competitive on the pricing, and very transparent with the process. For instance, the generators were on backorder and Brandon was very honest right from the start. He kept me updated all the way through till the generator arrived. The install went fantastic, and it was done professionally and very clean. It was very clear that they are highly skilled and educated on the generators, their installation, and the maintenance required. They even set up the mobile link to my wifi for me. All I had to do was download an app! If you are looking for great service and the opportunity to work with a true professional, I would HIGHLY recommend Brandon at Custom Power Solutions

Mike was always punctual, from the time he came to give us our initial estimate and throughout the process. He has a very strong work ethic, doing the job by himself and working 8+ hour days in the summer heat to get the job done with only a brief lunch break. The finished stairs and railing are just what we asked for and expected based on our initial discussions, and his cleanup was perfect. I cannot overemphasize how professional and reliable Mike is. His final price was exactly what we'd originally agreed on

Tool Belt Services LLC Handyman Service
5.0
First time utilizing Tool Belt for a rental property in Metaire, LA. Have been seeking a "handyman" that can handle the panacea of services needed to keep a home in top condition. Greg, the owner, responded the same day I posted a request on Angie's list. Followed up with a site inspection and estimate within a couple of days. Provided great communication as he worked out access with my tenant of 6 years (I live out-of-state), showed up when scheduled and my tenant couldn't have been happier with his professionalism, clean-up, and the quality of the work. In a single visit he painted the kid's bathroom, repaired two gates and fence to the pool area and replaced insulation on water pipes that run along a roof to feed the pool bath. The pricing was very attractive, especially since i didn't have to pay a painter, a plumber, and a carpenter for each to mobilize for 3 small jobs. Tool Belt was also a time saver. Due to his wide scope of services the time advantage for me of not having to coordinate long distance with 3 separate contractors was huge. I look forward to a long professional relationship with Tool Belt Services

Jeff of all Trades

Jeff was not my first choice. I called 3 larger plumbing companies before trying him. But the recent freezing weather meant that seemingly every plumber in the city was swamped with work. Two of them didn't want to take the job at all, and the third finally deigned to "put me on the list" for an appointment, without any concrete idea of when they might be able to make it to me in Algiers (which to them might as well have been Siberia). Then I called Jeff. Jeff was also tied up with other jobs and wasn't able to come over right away. But rather than make me wait for days without hot water he offered his immediate help and guidance over the phone! I described the situation as best I could and got his email address so I could send pictures to his mobile phone. He made a diagnosis and walked me through how to go about doing the repair myself. The whole process took a couple days, largely because my older Bosch AQ 125 B water heater would not accept the "universal" thermocouple available at the Home Depot down the street so a part had to be special ordered. But Jeff was helpful over the course of multiple emails and phone calls, always friendly and courteous. In the end Jeff helped me install a new thermocouple (which I never would have been able to do on my own) and get my pilot light back on, all without ever stepping foot in my home! When I called him for the last time to report success and thank him for all his help he refused my offer of compensation since he had never actually made it over here in person. I suspect he was hoping for a good review in return, but he was going to get that regardless. My final satisfaction came the next morning when I called that third plumbing company, who still hadn't bothered to let me know when they might be able to come out for an appointment, and ask them to "take me off the list"

Fireball Renovations

I met a mover at my current employers office, who offered to quote me a price to change my flooring. I was skeptical about all contractors, since the contractor I used post Katrina was so horrible. I was terrified to trust anyone. Prior to his estimate, I had collected 18 estimates, for 4 of the 5 major projects, as I was collecting estimates, to elevate my home. He happened to have the lowest estimate. However, that is not the reason I gave him the job. I had asked all of the companies before him, to tell me how to tie into my existing roofline, when they attach my deck. Out of the 19 companies I spoke with, he was the only one, to give me a precise description, of his approach. I was sold by his ideas, and gave him the job. I made the decision, to give the entire job, to this contractor. I wanted all new wood floors, throughout my house, in which the floors must be raised, to match the original house. I wanted 420 sq. ft. of decking, with two sets of stairs. I wanted a 10'x28' building attached to the backside, of the deck, subdivided. I wanted both deck and outer building, under the existing roof. I wanted a patio cover, at the back end, of the new driveway. I also wanted 1300 sq. ft. of concrete, which would include sidewalks, walkways, and approximately 135' of driveway. I handed him the house key, said I will be back from Italy in 10 days, do what you can. When I walked into my house 10 days later, it did not look like the same house. The wood floors were all finished. I couldn't believe it. I was so impressed that they moved, all of my furniture and appliances, plus built up the floors, in the back half of the house, and installed all of the flooring, in just 10 days. The furniture was polished, the bathrooms were cleaned and the house had never looked better. It was amazing! The real shock came, as I walked to the back door, and the guys were actually standing, on my new deck. That was the most awesome welcome home, anyone could possibly ask for. The surprised continued, the playroom/shed building was there, including the roof. The patio cover was designed and built, better than expected. It was awesome. All of this was built in just 10 days. I have since amended the original contract 18 times with some of the following projects. I added vinyl siding, soffit and fascia, to be installed on the house, as well as the patio. The kitchen door was bad, along with the sill, so I added replacing these items. I added finishing the interior, of both the shed and playroom. When we added onto the house the first time, we did not get our attic opened between the two sections. So, I added opening the roof between the first two sections of my attic. I added decking the old, as well as the new attic space. I added a work bench to be built in the new shed. I added many truckloads of sand to be brought in, to fill in the yard before adding all of the new concrete. I added a new column, to replace the old column, on our front porch. I added the removal of the wrought iron rail, on the front porch, and the replacement with a new campsite rail, on the front porch. I added the replacement of the ceramic tile, in both of the bathrooms. I added the removal of our old water heater and it's building, and the replacement with a new tankless water heater. I added a new custom built wrought iron base, vinyl covered gate, to be built and installed. I added a bad water line to be replaced, on the incoming line of the house. I added insulation, to be blown into the original house walls, as well as the new addition walls. I added two large magnetic curio cabinets, to be custom designed, to fit behind both upper penisula cabinets, in my dining room. I added saloon doors, to be custom built, to my design and installed, between my kitchen and dining room. I still feel like I am forgetting to mention some of the others tasks. But no matter what I threw out there, I was accommodated. We are 8 weeks into the job, and just about completed. All of my decking, handrails and stairs were designed and built using special ordered composite materials. We are waiting for the remainder of these materials to arrive, otherwise it would be completely finished. I am one satisfied homeowner. If anyone would like to come by and see my job, I will be more than happy to show it
Everything went great. Went above and beyond expectations. I would highly recommend for all A/C and heating needs. Very knowledgeable, professional, and honest. It's good to know that there are still honest small town companies out there that haven't been run out by those big box companies that seem to have started taking everything over
My car would not start and I had no idea what the problem was. I called Jake's, he came out and immediately stated the problem, made the repair. The work was completed to my satisfaction and saved me a towing charge. Mobile mechanic is a good resource.
Very well, they showed up on time every day until job was finished, cleaned up and finished product was a beautiful fence and gate. Fair pricing and very courteous.
I had built the main part of my house very high after hurricane Katrina as did many other people. However, being a senior citizen, the arthritis in my knees made it increasingly difficult to climb the stairs to my home. I contacted several elevator companies to compare prices. Champagne Elevators was competitively priced. Even more important than that, they could build an elevator to any size I wanted. My house is small and I didn't have room for a large elevator. At first, I toyed with the idea of building just a very small elevator just for me. I quickly decided that would be impractical when I had visitors over. Champagne Elevators was very understanding when I had difficulty getting the plans drawn for the elevator shaft. My draftsman was busy drawing homes and my shaft got put on the back burner. I finally received the plans and got bids from contractors. As soon as the shaft was built, the elevator construction began. Their installer was here everyday until the elevator was completed. He was polite and very competent. At the end, he explained how to operate the elevator in detail. I absolutely love my elevator and would highly recommend Champagne Elevators
