Mike did a phenomenal job on our bathroom renovation. Mike was extremely reliable, providing ongoing updates and prompt responses to questions throughout the process. Unlike most contractors, Mike preformed most of the work himself and was meticulous in each phase of the project. I appreciated the fact that Mike was extremely thoughtful in planning of each phase of the project to minimize any inconvenience to us and our daily routine. Mike is very neat and demonstrated regard for our home by prepping and cleaning up the work area each day. It was such a relief to know that the house would be in good condition when I returned home from work in the evening. The only problem I had with the entire project was the shower glass installation. Mike uses Tennessee Glass Co. and the glass enclosure is beautiful; however, the installers did not use protective covering on the floors and I noticed nicks in the hardwood after they completed the work. Mike had nothing to do with this issue and I did not initiate a complaint with the company. Other than that, we love our dream bathroom and would not hesitate to use Mike for future projects

Our second renovation experience with Mike and again, he and his crew were professional, meticulous, and reliable as ever! We had the master bathroom renovated this time--the cost of Mike's services and materials was approximately $17,500. The total cost after considering materials and furnishings we provided was around $25,000. Mike provides excellent craftsmanship on nearly all aspects of the renovation, and excellent subcontractors for the aspects that he doesn't personally perform (painting and glass shower enclosure.) All phases usually stay on schedule, aside from those times where grout or other material need another day or two to dry. He's not going to rush it! Which is absolutely the way to do things. Mike makes sure everything is tidied up at the end of the day, respects the rest of the house, and can be trusted (as well as his helpers) to be left to work in the house alone. A major plus! If you are planning a renovation in the future, give Mike a call--I guarantee you will get a prompt and detailed estimate, and a fair price for services performed

Fresh Start 615
My husband and I are thrilled with the work done by Fresh Start 615! Our bathrooms and kitchen were worn out and drab, and now they are bright and fresh. We also needed some painting and general refreshing of some other rooms in our home. We honestly feel like we have a whole new house with all the improvements being made. We were happy with the workmanship, the strong work ethic, and the cheerful attitudes of all the partners who worked here. Communication is everything in a business relationship, and we always felt like we knew what was happening and when, and our questions were answered immediately. David Wilson’s crew did a SUPERB job on our bathroom remodel! The job also included relocating an interior wall and rebuilding a closet in an adjacent room, which was all well within their expertise. They were happy to tackle the concrete floor tile we had picked out (which is more challenging to install) and built-in cabinets and shelving. They also had great ideas to prevent daily nuisances that we hadn’t anticipated. It’s so refreshing to work with a company who just wants to do the job right!!! One year later, everything is as solid as the day they left. We will definitely use them on future projects. 10/10

We got multiple quotes for our bathroom renovation but ultimately decided to go with Classic Handyman based on price, the suggestions they offered during the quoting process, and the speed at which they said they could start. We had a quality team assigned to our project that was pretty much the team we worked with throughout the entire process. Very responsive to any calls or questions - we had great communication. We had done our own design plans and the contractors worked with us to make sure everything was to our spec, but also brought to our attention and resolve any potential pitfalls with our plans. Really quality work, and when a few things popped up that we weren't happy with, they resolved them quickly and without extra charge. Overall a great experience; we've since had them back to tackle a few other projects

Bathroom renovation: The renovation was never completed. As noted above they set the house in fire early in the bathroom renovation. Neither of the owners George or Brian were present at the time. The unsupervised workers did not call the fire department or wake my son initially. They went outside to get a garden hose instead. This likely allowed the fire to spread. They finally did wake my son who did escape from the house and called the fire department. A great deal of damage was done to my property. In spite of the fact that they told me they were bonded and insured I have found out that their insurance lapsed on 07/12/09 so they were not insured when they started the work on my home on 07/20/09. They were also very far behind on this project at the time of the fire. The porch renovation was never completed and was also far behind. Only the support for the structure and the floor had been completed. The original plan was to replace the colums supporting the house. They did not do that but spent two weeks fooling around resurfacing the columns. They requested money for supplies to complete the porch which I sent them however they did not purchased the supplies or complete the work. Two weeks prior to the fire I requested a summary of expenses and copies of reciepts as I was concerned about the amount of money they were requesting with the work being so far behind. They never gave me the information. They have not returned any of the $ 24,500.00 I paid them directly in spite of the fact that they only did the porch floor and the demolition of the bathroom. (The other monies noted above were supplies that I personally purchased for the bathroom) In summary: they were uninsured, they did not have the proper permits, they did not properly supervise the work, they set my house on fire and there was extensive damage, the work was far behind, they did not finish the work, supply me with receipts, or return any of my money. This has been a disaster for me and my family

Overall the work, labor and laborers, material and permits were very good. Some follow-up work was needed but it was done promptly and without complaint. The price was fair and included a discount by virtue of being an Angie's List member. Will Cook was prompt with the estimate and started when scheduled with all permits drawn. A leak in the roof had caused extensive damage to the bathroom walls and paint. The house was built in the mid twenties and had hard plaster sheet rock on walls and ceiling. This was all taken down and removed from property. Quality drywall was put up and the bathroom window replaced. The window took a long time to come in because the provider had assured Will they were in stock. They weren't and needed to be ordered. The window needed to be reframed and re-cemented into the outer wall. The floor was weak and needed to be replaced. The sub-floor was strengthened and new linoleum flooring laid down. The toilet was reseated and the tub resealed to the floor. The material surrounding the tub was also replaced. The job was considered complete until the first rain and it again leaked into the bathroom and messed up the paint job. That's when the guttering was replaced as the possible or probable cause of the water coming in. The charge was extra but the gutter did need to be replaced. That was not the cause of the leak, as we found out the next time it rained. Will came back with a roofing person and the leak was identified and fixed. It is possible that the vent boot wan not installed properly the first time. Will repaired the damage to the interior wall and we said we were satisfied. The original remodeling work did look somewhat better than the repair. In defense of Landlord's Helper, the window not being in stock as promised, a death in the family, his crew having problems and other promised/scheduled work pushing h****** the time Will had to work did create a really tough working environment. I am satisfied with the final product while at the same time wishing it could have all gone smoother. I would recommend Landlord's Helper to my friends and to other Angie's List member

Initial impression was great--arrived to look at plans from architect and went over project and told us would have us back an estimate in a few days. After week and half still no quote, emailed asking if there was anything else he needed and emailed back that he had finally gotten plans printed as we had sent him all the pdfs on the project the day he initially came out. After several more emails and promises of quotes "the next day," he never got back in touch with us. Would not have been so disappointed as this seems to be the norm with many contractors, but we were initially very impressed with initial conversation as well as work posted on his website and would have likely chosen for work if he had given a good price and followed through. Experience to us showed lack of professionalism as had given multiple promises and did not follow through and would be concerned about if this would happen on the job as well

When we purchased the house the bathroom was not only ugly, but had some severe mold smells. Me and my husband discussed calling several services. We found American Services of TN which was local and had fair pricing and we liked how the pictures look. They extended the bathroom and renovated it. I was shocked at how much better it looked and definitely smelled. When my parents came over they absolutely loved all the details in the tile work and the new stone tile shower and bathtub. Very, very happy and I will definitely use them again for any other jobs I need

We turned our worn, outdated master bathroom over to KG Construction for a couple of weeks and they gave us back the bathroom we had always wanted. Ovi with KG Construction is very professional and provided a detailed proposal, helpful suggestions, excellent work and was consistently on time. The work area was clean at the end of each day and our bedroom furniture and flooring was covered to protect it from the dust normally created with renovation. On a scale of 1-10, KG Construction would score a 10 for our bathroom renovation and we'll definitely hire them for future projects.
