Beautiful, intelligent, well planned design to provide a living privacy screen. They also did a fantastic job on a water feature.

Worked out well. It was a bit hard to communicate and get on the schedule (I presume due to their heavy workload) the work was done very nicely. The lighting installation is very professional, the water feature has been restored to good condition, and drainage channel works well.

was interested in hardscape project and had co-owner brock hughey and his partner out. it has now been 7 weeks since they were here. they advised me they would send out a structural person from their team within a few days and also hook me up with their designer for a 3-d rendering and further consultation. after numerous follow up calls to their office (none of which were returned personally - only by their office girl to tell me they would be in touch with me) i am hereby throwing in the towel and giving up on this business. while your experience may vary, mine has me rating them an "F.

Chris provided a drawing of the proposed changes in my back yard using existing planting and design features in his design. He and his crew removed (Chris actually used climbing gear) the tree and a large pine tree and placed a large water feature in the yard, multiple trees, bushes, and flowers. Chris repurposed many bushes and shrubs. He was on the site every day, both directing work and participating in work. Many days he was at the house long after his crew was gone. He took great care to use many of the existing plantings or move them to a more suitable location. He turned the backyard into an oasis that is 100% more usable that it was in the past. We have already used Chris to add a second water feature to the side yard and he will return to put in the remaining flagstone patio in early July. Chris is easy to work with, his crew is hard working, and went above and beyond to ensure that the project was what my wife and I wanted. I highly recommend Chris and Crenshaw Landscaping and have friends and neighbors who want his contact information for their projects

He took the measures and told me to wait for few days for the final design and cost. 3weeks passed and I did not receive any thing from him. I called him . he claimed that he emailed the design and estimate to me. I kept searching my email with out any success. I called him again , he told me that he will resend it to me and give me a call at the same time to look for it in case it may go to junk mails. another 3 weeks passed with out any response. I texted him asking whether he want to do the job or not?? he replied of course he want to and he will be in touch with me next day. I never heard from him since. He wasted my time and effort

ALLIN LANDSCAPING
5.0
This project began with a home meeting with Mr. Allin, discussing our wants. He met back with us once he had completed his design. He included multiple price points of each phase which I found quite helpful. We made our selections and agreed to begin. Prior to any groundbreaking, I made some design changes. (This was a learning process for us and the more we learned, the more we wanted to learn before committing to the final product.) I have to say that George Allin was as excited about our new ideas as we were. He was not offended in the least about the changes and he made sure that he understood exactly what we wanted. Throughout the entire project George maintained an easygoing and helpful manner with us. He is obviously well-respected by his subcontractors (who were also easy to work with). He was patient throughout the process and encouraged us to ask questions. He wanted us involved intimately from beginning to end. We truly felt that his main concern was that we were happy with the project. We already plan to work with George on our next project

PONDS BY DAVID
1.0
We never get an advance notice of Ponds by David coming to make their cleaning. We had already terminated our bi-weekly cleaning from them for several reasons: blocking our garage in the morning when it was time to leave for school and work, shoddy and quick scrubbing of the fountain portion of the pond, and generally a sense that we were being way over-charged. We kept them for the twice yearly draining and cleaning, as they were the ones who installed the pond (according to documents we found in the home after we purchased it). We arrived home one day and my wife pointed out that the fountain was spewing water. Upon examining it, the PVC pipe that comes up from the underwater pump that is suppose to connect to the intake at the base of the fountain had come loose. It was spraying water against the side of the block fountain, causing the splashing my wife had noticed. It then struck me that the pond was clean--no debris, algae, or anything in the water. Plus, the water level was a foot below where it should be. That was the only way I knew that Ponds by David had come to clean it, as the day before it contained some leaves and debris on the bottom. I changed and went out to work on the pond. When I removed the pump, I was alarmed to find the filter attachment that guards the pump's intact was missing. Needless to say, this is a very important piece of plastic. And it isn't small either. The water was clear but no filter. Luckily, I just happened to look behind the pond on the ground and there it lay next to my skimming net. So the maintenance man who cleaned the pond had not properly secured the PVC pipe from the pump into the fountain. Plus, they had neglected to put the filter guard back on the pump. Both of these things should be second nature to any pond maintenance personnel. Had we not caught it when we did, the pump would have eventually drained the pond and probably burnt out the pump. Worse, had we been out of town, this oversight would have been a glaring notice to any bad guys in the area that the house was currently unoccupied. This negligence is unacceptable

ALLIN LANDSCAPING
5.0
Our yard has been turned into a magical peaceful place to relax. The whole team listened to our input and were very professional. We interviewed several landscape designers before we picked Allin Landscaping and this team was everything we could have hoped for. George Allin even took us to Randall Walker Farms to pick out some of our specimen plants. It was a delight to go pick some of our plants. We love the Pacific Northwest area of the country and we wanted to incorporate that feel to our yard and it was accomplished. We have many varied species of evergreen trees that grow in Oregon. Allin Landscaping is first class and really listen and make sure their client is happy. If you are looking for a unique landscape design team with professional people that take pride in their work then without a doubt you will be pleased with their results. We absolutely love our beautiful palette in our whole yard

Crenshaw Landscaping

Crenshaw did great work. Answered phone on first call, came to my house after work and gave me an estimate the same day. I had one other estimate and chose his because he was so knowledgeable about plants and how they should be pruned as well as garden design for minimum effort and maximum enjoyment. We needed major work done including pruning and shrub removal and cleaning out a pond with a fountain and getting it running. I spoke to him a few times before the job started and he answered all my questions and made great suggestions for our garden. He was able to start quickly, was on time and completed the job very timely. Exceeded my expectations. Will use them again

I had contacted Chris through Angie's List, and I am really glad I did. Since he had experience with water features, like our waterfall, I asked him if he could visit to take a look at our waterfall. Having just moved in 8 months ago and never having a waterfall before, we wanted to make sure there wasn't a leak (if the water level was maintaining an appropriate level for its type), and do any kind of maintenance or fixes needed. Chris spent a couple of hours on our waterfall, which included some face time with my husband to educate him on the waterfall, maintenance tips, etc. Separately, we had thought that the gravel part of our driveway might have needed some additional gravel Chris supplied a quote for that work, but on further discussion, conveyed to us that we were probably just fine for a few more years. Again, giving us maintenance tips and describing the trigger points to when we may want to look into it further. We very much appreciated Chris' services and we hope to use him again in the future

20th Century Nursery Landscape & Supply
5.0
Over the years, I have worked with many contractors on residential remodeling and landscaping projects. This by far was the best experience I've ever had. The owner, George Wollas, was onsight almost every day to make sure work was done well and on time. The terrain presented several challenges and obstacles that George's firm overcame quickly and with very little additional cost to me. The front yard and back yard were very steep and some landscaping companies who bid on the job said they couldn't even perform some of the tasks that 20th Century completed. In the middle of the project a large boulder was uncovered which George's firm took out with special equipment and only delayed the job by one day. George's expertise in drainage and water features ensured that the yard was graded correctly after the boulder removal to maintain the integrity of the new landscaping. His knowledge of plants ensured the foundation plants for the garden looked good and would grow in the proper environment. There were many rainy days throughout the project, but they finished on time despite the weather. George Wollas's personal integrity and professional knowledge were outstanding and I plan to use his firm anytime I require landscaping help

We started with a horrible back yard full of weeds and a small square cement pad the builder had poured. With a small back yard that was held in by a retaining wall we needed to make the most of our square footage to create inviting spaces and take advantage of the view. We invited Jason to come and give us a bid after we had seen several pictures of his work. We wanted someone who had a great eye for creating a natural looking yard with serious hardscaping that was very low maintenance. He gave us everything we asked for. HIs bid gave us a detail of what each item would cost so we could customize our desires to our budget. He also gave us helpful advice on achieving our overall goals at a lower cost. Jason's design work is incredible. He gave us a multilevel back yard that incorporated a garden, fire pit area, barbecue and table area, meditation area, several private gathering places, a gorgeous water feature, and the entire back yard is low maintenance. The best part of his design is his attention to the details. As we walked around the yard he helped us plan around the drainage issues (lots of them we had never thought of) and he gave us creative ways to incorporate the drainage into the design. He also put a lot of thought into the views from various angles, the sun and shade at different times of the day, how the flow would work with a crowd, how it would look during each season, and how it looked from our back windows. He even fixed some of the drainage issues our builder left! Jason arranged to start our yard as soon as he finished some projects he was in the middle of. Our landscaping committee made it difficult to get things approved but Jason worked with us to prepare the paperwork so we could get final approval and get started. Throughout the project the only real delays we had were weather delays and some unforeseen equipment problems. Jason's crew is great, they were all very polite, and worked through some crazy hot weather. My husband had some strong opinions about how the water feature should look and Jason was very patient in working with him and we think it is terrific. When the time came for planting he met me at a local landscaping place to pick out plants but I really just gave him a general idea of what I was looking for and let him take care of the details. I had mentioned once early in the process that I would love a peach tree and he included a dwarf peach for me in a lovely location near the patio. Once all of the plants were set where they were intended to go he had me come out and make any changes I wanted. With very few changes they all went were he had planned. When everything was done he was very conscious of cleaning up any materials they brought in and reseeding my side yard where some of the equipment had killed the grass. It has more grass now than when he started. We would recommend Jason to anyone looking for some serious hardscaping who wants a natural look. We will be using him again when we put in a built in BBQ and work on our side yard

Chris came out and gave me an estimate. We agreed on a price. He came back within a week and completed the job in 3 days. I had another builder in my yard for nearly a year that never got anything done and just made a huge mess and wasted my time and money so I was very pleased and honestly amazed at how quickly this all came together. They were all very courteous and friendly, they worked very hard and did a great job. I have a beautiful, very natural looking pond and waterfall with beautiful foliage and mulch surrounding this. Next to this area is the cobblestone and the third third of the courtyard is grass. Chris has also been very accommodating since completion of the project in terms of getting back to me by phone or e-mail with answers to my questions about plant care and pond maintenance. I did think the price was high but I was so fed up with my previous builder I couldn't wait to get something done. Chris gave me a discount and the project was still high I thought but I did not get any competing bids so it may have been a good deal. It just seemed like a lot of money to me. For example a 3 gall cypress "crippsi" was $155. I had a combination of 12 mostly 3 gall but ranging from 1-7 gall shrubs, ornamental grasses and flowers and one tree planted and mulched around a 5 foot diameter pond that cost me $797 (this is only the plants and mulch, not the pond) The total price is list above. So you can decide for yourself if this is reasonable. Honestly, like I said, I am not sure but it seemed high to me

Custom Hardscapes LLC

After doing 5 other large indoor renovations with a variety of contractors, we knew that remodeling was stressful and the stress was "just part of remodeling". This was definitely not the case with Custom Hardscapes! It was the easiest renovation project we have ever completed and the results were far better than we could have ever anticipated. Brien's promptness with the initial meeting to get an estimate, his suggestions for improving our plan, his detailed estimate and fair price were the reason we chose him. He met with us at the stone place to discuss options for stone and made great recommendations. His workers were here daily at 8am and so prompt that you could set your watch by them. They were hard workers, dedicated to doing a project correctly and always polite and respectful. BTW, we also provided treats for them as well and were happy to do this due to their work ethic. If there was ever an issue or concern, they notified us promptly. (They even noticed a leak in an outdoor spigot that we were not aware of.) If we ever contacted Brien for a concern, he was either on site or contacted us within 15 minutes or less and he promptly resolved that. The patio turned out better than we could have ever anticipated! It was completed in April and we spend all of our time out there. We do not hesitate to recommend Custom Hardscapes and have to several people! Working with Brien was the best renovation experience and other contractors could learn from him what real "customer service" is. We hope to be working with Brien again soon to complete our driveway, front walkway and a retaining wall. We are happy to have Brien bring by future customers at any time. Don't hesitate to use Custom Hardscapes, you will not be disappointed
Siteworks is a truly outstanding company. Joe and Johnny were very flexible given the changes in our plans. They offered tremendous value for money. Their design services enabled us to envision the final product before starting the project. Their employees were courteous. We continue to recommend them to anyone who is considering this type of work. Truly a gem in Nashville
Everything went great. They are really friendly and knowledgable. They were very prompt and professioanl as well. They came when they said they would and I really trust them. I would certainly use this company again.
I use Brauss for my general lawncare and they are always on time and very reasonable priced. I got three estimates before selecting them to do this project. They are very honest. We reviewed an estimate and worked to get to a number I was comfortable with. The project went very well and would have been on time had the electrician showed up when he was supposed to. The whole Brauss family worked on the project and spent a lot of time just working on the perfect rock placement. We have had some issue with the top-off system and maintaining the water level, but I send an email at night and they are here the next morning to work on it. Top notch all around

Southern Creations helped us plan our landscaping. The final price was greater than the estimate. We also had them install a fountain which also went over the estimate.

It was an excellent experience. A crew of 3 (sometimes 4) spent a total of 5 work days, from start to finish. They arrived exactly when expected, worked quickly, and left the project looking great. Steps along the way included dismantling our existing fountain, draining our very small pond, excavating a small pit to be filled with a pump and gravel, and grading for the waterfall itself. They installed a liner and then artfully placed stones to build the feature. We could tell that the crew has worked a lot together. They were friendly, answered our questions along the way, and were open to minor adjustments that arose. Two days after completion, it was clear that the feature was using too much water, suggesting that perhaps some was leaking out somewhere, though that was not obvious. Upon notification, the company returned promptly to make adjustments
I had heard about Whitehouse Lawn and chose them because of their unique way of doing things. The final cost was well worth it and my landscaping is great. I have already contracted them to do another job for me.
Ponds by David didn't have a very good crew. They were always late, and I couldn't speak with them because of a language barrier. The quality of the pond was fine, but they were very slow.
