It went great!! I had a sink put in that was deeper than my original one and it took up more room at the top of the cabinet so the facing had to be cut down. Doug came in and saved some of my decorative siding that was still there and I could use my original doors. It was a beautiful job and VERY well made. I'm very pleased with the work

You must make sure that every cabinet on a proposed drawing is explained to you in detail before you "sign-off". Since we were not professionals at reading the proposed drawing, we did not realize that they did not accurately reflect what we had discussed with the representative. What follow was an example of terrible customer service. I have never been treated so poorly by a company I was doing business with. Make them explain every cabinet in detail and face to face so you can be assured that you will get what you wanted

Nashville Painting Company walked us through the process from the beginning, so we knew what to expect. Their crew were very professional and did an amazing job on our kitchen and kitchen cabinets! And a project manager also stopped by each day to answer any questions we had and check on progress. We love our “new” kitchen and will hire them again for future jobs

Great. The doors had damage from the previous home owners. Fastright was able to repair them and match the stain on the other cabinets.

It was a very good experience. Nathan's team was professional, on-time every morning, and did a very nice job. Even the clean-up was thorough. Also had some drywall repair work done in a couple of places and it looks better than it did before it was ever damaged. You can tell that they take pride in their work. We were very pleased with the results

Handy Mike's Custom Remodeling
5.0
Last fall, while reviewing Angie's List listings for a contractor who does kitchen remodels, I saw Handy Mike's Custom Remodel listing but didn't called since I assumed custom cabinets would be exorbitantly expensive and out of our price range. My husband and I decided on another Angie's List contractor who offered prefab cabinets; we had chosen maple since the cherry wood option was too expensive. The contractor insisted we needed to shorten a wall by 4" which I assumed was necessary in order to fit the modular cabinets along it without gaps, or something like that. This involved replacing a structural beam with a longer one - a costly, messy undertaking. The contractor's final quote was steep, much more than his initial estimates. I decided to call Mike Bedwell after all and he came the same evening. When I told him about shortening the wall, Mike said all we needed to do is build the kitchen out to the length of the wall - one of the many advantages of custom cabinets. He gave us a quote on the spot. Instead of getting an anticipated 'sticker shock' figure, it was quite reasonable, especially for what he was offering: a custom-designed kitchen (with no unnecessary structural alteration) complete with installation, and the cabinets would be built out of cherry wood, too. It was a no-brainer - we signed Mike on to do the job. Our move-in date was looming, so Mike and his crew had a tight turn-around. In spite of this, Mike built a gorgeous kitchen that we are thrilled with. I've been using my kitchen for almost a year now and love everything about it. - the functional design which Mike drew up by hand, and the beautiful cabinets built from high-quality materials, expertly hand-stained by his wife, extending to the ceiling with matching crown molding. The knobs and handles Mike helped us select are well-made and go perfectly with the cabinets; the interior cabinet hardware, hinges and such, are of the same high quality. Mike never cut any corners by using mediocre materials for any part of the project. Mike designed and built for us all the amenities a modern kitchen can have: a pantry, a spice cabinet, a cookie sheet drawer, two Lazy Susans, an extra wide, two-tiered 'gadget' drawer (which I especially love) for spatulas, vegetable peeler, etc; a microwave cabinet, a broom closet with an outlet inside it for recharging batteries, base cabinets with pull-out shelves and wall cabinets with half-shelves for easy access and deep storage, pull-out garbage can cabinet, matching paneling on the dishwasher, a fridge cabinet, under-cabinet lighting (Mike recommended the electrician who did the work), and gorgeous granite countertops. (Again, Mike recommended the company to use for this feature who did a terrific job using quality granite at a very reasonable price.) Mike even designed and built a cabinet specifically for my big, bulky dehydrator. And, unlike prefab cabinets where an installer strings together a bunch of single boxes, Mike's custom building involves constructing in one piece an entire section of cabinets - much harder to do and requires real skill and craftsmanship. (Please note the first photo. The man pictured is Mike.) In addition to his artisan craftsmanship, Mike was great to work with. He was very flexible and responsive to whatever requests we had; he worked on weekends in order to make the tight deadline (which impressed us a lot); he promptly returned calls; and he just made things easier for us. For instance, since we didn't have a truck to haul our newly-ordered dishwasher from the warehouse, Mike graciously picked it up for us, saving us a delivery fee. Mike may not have come to work exactly at the time he said he would every single time, but he and his hard-working crew always showed up and would sometimes worked late in order to finish the task of the day to stay on schedule. Coincidentally, the original contractor we were about to sign a contract with installed a kitchen at my husband's place of work. It's nice enough - the prefab cabinets seem to be of fairly decent quality, but, really, its nothing special. On the other hand, everything about our kitchen is special: beautiful custom-designed, hand-built and stained cabinets of superior craftsmanship with high quality hardware; and its very functional and efficient. Mike is truly an artisan, and we would definitely hire him again. In fact, we plan on doing so for other remodeling projects in our house

Dan and his team built our dream kitchen while saving us money by reusing our existing cabinet boxes. They built new boxes above the old taking them to the ceiling and creating loads of extra storage. Dan provided very thoughtful design and function input and we're so glad we implemented all of his ideas. His crew are courteous, detail oriented, highly skilled and a pleasure to work with

SURFACE MEDIC
4.0
We purchased an investment property and needed to have the cabinets refaced and the fiberglass tubs refinished prior to renting it. We contacted Bill at Surface Medic and set up an appointment for the day we closed on the property. He was on time and had a nice selection of cabinet surfaces to choose from. We got estimates from a couple of other providers, and Bill definitely had the largest selection of samples. He did a nice job of explaining the refacing process. He also gave us a bid on refinishing two fiberglass tubs that were in good shape, but their surface was dull and rough. We subsequently ended up asking him to also refinish the bathroom sinks. We chose him because we liked the idea of using one person to do the cabinets and the tubs, and his price was competitive. At the time he was offering a 10% discount if you mentioned his website. He was cheerful about giving us the discount. We paid half the cost of the job when he ordered the cabinets, and the other half at the end of the job. Bill had told us it would take about 2&1/2 weeks for the cabinet materials to arrive and 2 days to install them. In the interim he completed the bathroom work. The cabinet materials arrived on time, and he promptly set up an install date. As promised, they were installed in two days. We purchased the knobs, and he put those on at no additional charge. At the end of the job I noticed that one of the cabinet surfaces was chipped. Bill agreed to order another piece to replace the chipped one. It took about a week to get that in and install it. We're very happy with the way the cabinets look. Refacing is a cost effective way to give your kitchen a face lift without the expense of installing new cabinets. We would use Surface Medic again for cabinet refacing. My only complaint was I wish he had done a better job of cleaning up after he finished. Each time he left we had to vacuum the kitchen and clean out the sink. We were not as happy with the tub/sink refinishing. We expected a smooth surface, but there are small bumps that are very noticeable when running your hand across the surface. We've had tub refinishing done in the past by another provider, and the quality was better. In hindsight, we would have used Surface Medic for the cabinet refacing but not the tub refinishing

Stay absolutely away from this company. I used them to do my kitchen cabinets. The cabinets were cardboard. The morons at the store were so inept they could not get my order right. It's impossible to get help from customer service. Go to IKEA instead

ODYSSEY FINE WOODWORKING

Wayne took my rough design and a couple of magazine clippings and transformed them into my dream kitchen. He has superb attention to detail and is as much an artist as a carpenter. He was very flexible throughout the entire process with redesigns and responsive to my needs to include working around other contractors. He met his deadlines. He wasn't the cheapest bid I had, but he was worth every dime. He has since done additional work for me (made wooded storm window frames to match my historic house) and I plan to use him on future work

Millennium Roofing & Construction LLC
5.0
I thought they were very nice and they gave a good estimate. I went with another company but I wasn’t dissatisfied with Millennium, I just got a really good feeling from the other company. They gave me an estimate in a timely fashion, they called me back right away, and they were courteous. I felt very much like they were a company and I like more personable business
Owner Paul V. is incredibly trustworthy and does excellent work. And because of Paul's low overhead not being a large company, he's able to offer the same services as larger renovation companies but at a much lower price. The best value of all is in his kitchen cabinets. Excellent high quality cabinets at a fraction of the cost of the big box home improvement stores. Paul does not cut corners and is a jack of all trades. I highly recommend MHR and will continue to use its services in the future

several emails/visits w sales rep to price out kitchen. Cabinets seem to be of good quality and good features for the price. You can see their webpage for those. The rep (Marianna) was very quick to respond to questions and change requests. I had a basic design idea already laid out which we embellished a little. (A "g"shape-3 walls and peninsula). Price including granite was <15,000. Downside is limited door syle, which may be how they can keep prices low. We ended up not using this company mostly due to a style difference and a glowing recommendation from a friend for another company whose cabinets we just liked a little better. (Same construction on paper, but in person the fit/finish/hardware just seemed nicer). However, I also had a friend recommend this company as well. And I would definitely recommend a consultation with them. If when we get around to doing the bathrooms, I'll probably call them back again

I stopped in the store to see if I could get a competitive price quote on Kraft Maid brand cabinets. There was only 1 person working in this store and he was clearly overwhelmed. I waited around for 30 minutes to speak with the sole person working at this store. After I mentioned to the sales person that I was interested in getting a price on Kraft Maid cabinets and that I had gotten a price quote from Lowes he seemed to no longer be interested in selling to me. In fact, Richard suggested that I should just go buy my cabinets from Lowes as they will be the exact same price. He then aggressively tried to get the pricing information from my other quotes and kept repeating that his prices will be identical and he wasn't really interested in giving me a price quote. To be blunt, I'm not sure I'll ever see a quote for cabinets. Not that I care either, I definitely won't be purchasing from Cabinets To Go
