He came without a pencil, saw or anything to perform the service. When he returned his cuts were crooked, not sanded. He was called to return because of the unacceptability of his work. When he returned on May 31st, he said he had told my father he could not cut it straight (I was not home when this was done). He said he could put molding around for another $150.00 or take the cabinet out and send it off for repair for $800.00. He was argumentative and loud. He blamed my 85 year old father for his shoddy work. He is not taking responsibility for his poor work and is unwilling to correct it unless he is "paid cash up front". I am unwilling to pay him any additional cost, which I told him. Since he was paid in full for his service I found the comment rude and unacceptable

Chaz had given me a price beforehand and it was right on. He did a great job with our ceiling fans and we loved the remotes that he attached to our switches which was his idea. He installed a microwave over our oven and it was really tight but he did it! We had been moving all day and had people in and out with installing and moving but Chaz did the best job of anyone we hired. I just wish he could have done it all! The price was very reasonable and we appreciated everything he did. I've used him before and will continue to when we need more work done!

I cannot tell you what a job he's done. He's also since done my daughter's kitchen. He did mine from scratch. He gutted the kitchen and replaced the cabinets and granite countertops, he created built-ins for my microwave, and he put in new trim around my windows. He's great. I'm not sure how to rate this - we had them come out twice for something that we knew was detailed, but they were uncomfortable doing - and therefore declined. But then even when I asked about hanging a heavy mirror they declined to do that. So I am just befuddled as to how to rate them. The reason I reached out to hire a "handy-man" was to because it was beyond my comfort, and thought from their decription that I was not beyond a good handy man. They were very nice - but left me high and dry. By the way - the mirror is some thing I can do and the microwave was compelted by Improving Homes 4 You when we had our ceiling painted

Chaz performed all work requested in an efficient and professional manner. He was particularly careful to explain what the was doing if it seemed to deviate from the norm in any way (e.g., the original owners had glued a decorative plate to the ceiling of our breakfast area which was incompatible with our light fixture. With some creativity, Chaz made it work. Regarding the ceiling fan, Chaz explained it was out of balance and he could spend several hours correcting it. However, given the fan's age, he offered it would be more efficient and cost efficient to simply replace the fan. Using wrought iron material he obtained from Lowe's, Chaz manufactured and installed a handrail for us, leading from the house down into our garage. It went very well. Mr. Kleeman is a gentleman and a professional. He was attentive to my budget and worked with me on picking out all the amenities with that budget in mind. He also made sure all his work was safe, thorough and cleaned up when he was finished. He kept in contact with me and always returned my phone calls. He did a great amount of tile work that is flawless. The bead board looks great and it is water tight thanks to his insistence that we use an enamel paint that withstands moisture exposure.He gave me the bathroom of my dreams. I continue to call him to this day to repair/replace items aorund the house including window seals, kitchen sink seal, front/back porch repair and weather coating, fence repair, and he is now working to install an interior door, replace my microwave and replace some windows. He is just a blessing to know and work with- you will enjoy working with him

It was truly the worst experience of my entire life. He would say he was coming over to work and never show up, or come and only stay a few minutes. He gave me a quote of 6 weeks to finish the cabinets, however that was in July of 2012 and they are not finished as of yet. The cabinets are not level. The openings for the drawers are not square. The cabinet doors are not level and the doors themselves were warped so he planed them down on the top and bottom to try to make them fit. He put in 2 lazy susan cabinets in the base and neither will open fully. One has a gap the width of my finger but the other side has a smaller gap. The doors will not turn all the way as they scrape at the bottom. He states he does this kind of work for a living (I hope other people have had better experience than me).When he started the tile work, I asked him to take it back down because the spacing was not correct, the tiles were not level, he tiled up over the back of the cabinets in places so the tile sticks out. He did not grout above the stove area below the microwave and it still remains undone. He cut some of the tiles too small so there is a wide amount of grout and some spaces smaller so the grout lines are not level and the tiles were not level. He did not attach the microwave with the bracket to the wall. It is only hanging by the screws from the cabinet above. He smoked in my house (he knew I was a non-smoker and still he and his brother smoked in my house). He did not complete the job and is suing me for the rest of the money he says I owe him. Holy Help.... I would not wish this person on anyone. I purchased this home in February 2012. As of today I have not been able to live in it

Hantel Kitchens & Baths
We started by working with the kitchen department of a big-box retailer, but the process left us concerned about the overall design and effectiveness of their project management involving various sub-contractors. At the same time, a friend told us she had worked with both that retailer and an independent remodeling contractor and was much happier with the latter, an observation borne out by findings of the major consumer research organization. I researched contractors and found Hantel to be prominent members of the NKBA. Unlike higher-end remodelers who custom-build everything, they also work with major cabinet manufacturers to come up with semi-custom solutions which are more economical. We met with Ed Hantel, who gave us a ballpark estimate and overall vision of how the kitchen should be reconfigured. At that point we went forward with a paid design process and overall cost, and worked with Ed and Shannon (a designer) to tweak and finalize the design and adjust costs accordingly. They gave us thorough written guidelines about preparing for the project and its disruption of household life. This was a radical project that involved removing part of a wall into an adjoining room to establish an eating bar. Since that was was an old-fashioned plank paneling, we asked if the paneling being removed could mask a place on another wall where we wanted to remove an old unused through-the-wall air conditioner. They did such a beautiful job on this side project that no one can tell now that the wall (on both the inside and outside) ever had such a history. Overall, the project started and finished on time, and the workers took their time to do things right. They cleaned up the worksite at the end of each day of all dust and debris. There were no surprises. There was one detail that we were not satisfied with at the end, and Ed worked to come up with a solution that made us happy. The process and finished results exceeded our expectations and we would have no problem recommending Hantel to anybody

Multitask Handyman & Space Solutions
Chaz came out every day and did wonderful work. He figured out an impossible job and got the trim to fit around our built in microwave and solved a problem we could not figure out for months. Chaz also did excellent work installing a new kitchen sink faucet for us and made it look so easy. He also fixed many of our closet doors and bedroom doors around the house. Many of the closet doors had come off the track or would not shut correctly. Many of the bedroom door latches no longer work correctly. Chaz did a wonderful job fixing each and ever item we had on our list. He even figured out how to get an oversized dog cage tray to fit correctly into our dog's kennel. He spent most of the time working and prepping our deck for staining later this year. He did a great job replacing some broken boards and securing all boards on the deck with screws. We are just so pleased with all the work Chaz did as well as the quality of work. He is very trust worthy and does a great job of coming up with good ideas to solve problems. We are just thrilled with his work and can't wait for him to come back to finish phase II of our deck when the weather warms up a bit more. Thanks for the great work that you all do

I placed orders, paid for everything in full and waited for arrival. The first problem was a furniture order was incorrect, no resolution. Next the furniture delivered was incomplete, delivery damaged floors, no resolution. Next fixtures are not holding up, glue coming undone so the shades are not staying on. No resolution. No calls from the company after phone calls, emails and pictures sent the the company.Furniture ordered incorrectly and nothing done, I was stuck with the wrong product.Fixtures that did not last one week and I was told today I had to deal with it. Pictures were sent showing the wrong size of shade and the glue coming off. When delivery took place the guy scratched our brand new floors. The furniture was to be set up and when I arrived the furniture was still in boxes. I took pictures and sent it to the company, no response. So to recap, orders were wrong, fixtures did not last a week, furniture orders were short, damage during delivery and no response from Direct Buy. I used to be the biggest fan, no so much now

They have fixed my refrigerator twice, my a/c twice, garage door opener, 2 new water heaters, my pool and spa. If they have to reimburse you, you are paid back within a week. I thought the heating element went out. After the technician diagnosed everything, he discovered it was not the element but the thermostat. Not as expensive as an element would have been. I just did not want this expense at Christmas, but thankful they could repair it. He was only here maybe 30 minutes and had it repaired. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I have used this company before for a refrigerator, and now a dryer. I will definitely use them again
