We found out when we accidentally set off our alarm that our system was not working. We called our current company and were told that it would be 75.00 to come out and inspect the system and then additional for whatever repairs needed to be made. Our current system was about 15 years old and I was worried it would need to be replaced. They estimated it would be around 300.00 plus the service call fee to replace the system. I called NCA after hearing an advertisement that they monitor for 9.95 a month with no contract. I was not not sure if they just did monitoring or repairs as well. They told me over the phone that it sounded like my system was to old to communicate with my digital phone line. That this had become a problem with the advances in phone service vs the older technology of the alarms. They quoted a price of 179.00 plus tax to replace my old system. And then 9.95 monthly to monitor the system. I made an appointment they actually called and asked that morning if they could come earlier. As they were done early with the job before ours. The service person came out checked out the system and all the parts. Told us that what they told us on the phone was correct that he was not getting a phone signal to the box. He replaced the panel and the keypad for the alarm checked our smoke detector, motion detector and door contacts. Told us he could not sell us anything else because we did not need anything more that all of the rest was in working order. Even instructed us on how to clean our smoke detector to avoid false alarms. Finished up the job in way under the time estimated. Charged exactly as we were quoted cleaned up and was gone. I could not say more good things about this company. Very professional! They also gave us the first three months of monitoring free as a gift to new customers. I would highly recommend them to anyone tired of paying to much for service! And I can say it works like a charm! I accidentally set off the alarm the next day, the keypad is different than our old one and they called in under two minutes! And even laughed with me not at me! :

We chose NCA because of the low monthly monitoring fee ($20/month for wireless), despite the above average cost of installing the system ($400-$600). The installer was suppose to come in a 2 hour window, but showed up 30 minutes late. He did call to let me know he was running late, but it was inconvenient for me because I was on a tight schedule. During the installation, the keypad could not get installed where I wanted to due to some studs being in an odd location. Wouldn't have minded except that he found this out after he drilled into the wall. Now we have patching and painting to do. Fortunately, the alarm system works great, makes me feel more secure, and I have a low monthly payment so to me it's worth it

He did a great job and made sure everything was done exactly the way I asked. He was very professional and very reasonable on price. Needed work done right away because of Christmas party and he came out next day. I will definitely use him again and refer him to my friends and family, he is someone you can trust in your home

First, the contractor was late for the appointment. Then, he took much longer than originally expected. We asked him to re-key all exterior locks to the house, which he did. But he also re-keyed all interior door locks. As a result, that more than doubled the anticipated price. By the time he was done, we were late for a planned trip out of town. Rather than argue and further delay our own trip, we just paid the bill. Here's where it got bad. Somehow he managed to mess up the lock to the front door. It has a keypad lock in addition to a keylock. Now the keypad will not work - it will not completely unlock. It worked perfectly before he "fixed" it...and I've checked the wiring, the batteries, and the alignment...but cannot fix it. I've called Affordable Locksmith four times and asked him to return and fix the lock. I've left four messages and never received the courtesy of a return phone call. I called again today and spoke with an employee. This employee said he cannot help us. He told me that his boss, David, was the person who did the work. The employee agreed to give David the message that we called. And the employee said that David might call me back or he might not. Incredibly unprofessional, and not worth the expense

I was paying $30+/month for monitoring from another company (let's call it Brand X) and was aware of plenty of competitors who charge a lot less. On top of that, one of the zones in our alarm system had recently started malfunctioning, so we had to bypass it until it was fixed. I knew from 15 years' experience with Brand X that a service call would be expensive, so decided that if I was going to have somebody come out and work on our system we might as well make the switch to another company. The problem with switching is that Brand X's equipment would not work with competitors' monitoring services. NCA told me they could swap out the control panel and keypad but not have to rewire the rest of the house, for $179. Then their monitoring is $9.95/month, and they offered the first 3 months free. The price of the control panel pays for itself in less than a year considering the trade off in the monitoring expense. Then I saw good comments in Angie's List from other customers, and decided to try NCA. I made the installation appointment and told them that we would also need the malfunctioning zone repaired (which I knew would add to the cost, depending on the nature of the problem). The person who helped me on the phone explained the process thoroughly. They called again about a week before the appointment to confirm, and then again a couple of days before. The installer showed up on time. He switched out the control panel and keypad and tested everything. Once the new equipment was in place, our malfunctioning zone was no longer malfunctioning! The installer said that the malfunction was in the old company's control panel (which had been replaced only a couple of years ago), and not in the wiring in the room and doors where the zone was located. He then gave us a thorough overview of all the features of the system and how to use it. (Written documentation was provided as well.) My "A" ratings were based on the quality of the service experience and value for the price. My rating of B for Quality, instead of A, simply reflects that we don't have long-term experience yet with the quality of the equipment and monitoring service, but we have had no problems so far

I called Bill after reading such glowing comments about him on Angie's list. I was not disappointed! I had just bought a home and needed to change the locks quickly. Bill was great. He changed all my locks and rekeyed them to one key and gave me an Angie's list discount. He found the program number for the keypad lock and showed me how to rekey it to a new number. I had to call him the next day to come out again after buying a new lock for a door I didn't have the original key for. He had already given me advice on what type of deadbolt/keypad type lock would be best and I was able to find one that matched the other doors exactly. He came up with the idea to use the old door knob and dead bolt on my shed. However, he showed me that it didn't fit properly after installing and really should be placed higher on the door and a new hole drilled. He didn't charge me for it since he didn't like the way it fit. He also took a look at the door latch on an inside door that wasn't closing properly and fixed that for me as well. I asked for Bill's cards so I could pass them on to all my new neighors. I highly recommend him

Today (08JUN20 - Mon) Hugo, alarm technician from Preventia Security of Columbia, TN arrived at my new home addition on-time and ready to work. Hugo called me first to confirm our appointment (that is a huge "plus" in my book when dealing with technicians knowing they are on the way!) and WAS ON TIME! After Hugo installed the alarm / smoke detector items and keypads, he explained how to use the system fully without "rushing or glossing over" what I needed to know. My work order was not a large dollar amount one and they were "tying into" an existing alarm system. Most alarm companies would probably have tried to "up-sell" me a new, costly alarm control panel or quoted an outrageous price just to get me to decline and look elsewhere . I would like to applaud Preventia Security for sending an alarm professional to attend to my alarm / smoke detector needs. Hugo is a valued team member and an asset to Preventia Security in my opinion. I also would like to acknowledge John, their salesman and Sarah, their scheduler who assisted me in this small, but important alarm / smoke detector job. Both John and Sarah were also tops in their game in terms of communications and responsiveness! Folks, I am pretty critical when it comes to service, value and communications with sales and service related companies. Without any reservations, I can honestly recommend Preventia Security of Columbia, Tennessee for a value priced, headache-free installation of your alarm / smoke detector system. Thank you Preventia Security
I had Abou install a Master Lock key pad for my home along with a door knob. Very Professional and quick! He explained everything very well. And until this day I go around telling all my family and friends about my really nice lock that they installed. Customer service is an A+!

I wanted to get the locks re-keyed on a house we recently purchased. I called Affordable Locksmith and they gave me a price (service call plus $8.00 per lock). They scheduled the work time that they would come to my house. When they did not show up for the appointment, I waited an additional 30 minutes after the appointment time, then I called back. The guy answering the phone said he would find out what is going on. No one ever called back. Do we live too far away, like 10 miles? At least they could have called. The positive side of this, is that after the and quot;no showand quot; I went to Lowe's and Home Depot, where I found out about the new and quot;smart keyand quot; locks from Kwikset and Schlage that are bump proof, and you can re-key yourself. So I decided that I would purchase 4 new keyed lock sets plus 3 dead bolt locks, and replace all of the keyed locks in the house. Now I control the keys. It cost more to purchase the new locks, but in the long run, I like being able to re-key my self as necessary. If I need to give someone (a house sitter, pet feeder, etc) temporary access to my house, I can re-key a single lock and give the the person a single key for access to the house. After we return home, I can re-key that lock back to the set of keys the family is using
