The process went from my initial call which was answered quickly.. an appointment was set for a review of the present gardens. He came on time sharing great ideas. Returned with the architectural diagrams for the proposed changes. Answered all questions. When he had forgotten to plant some spring bulbs it took just one email and he was there rectifying the over site. He redid the gardens in late Fall and in early Spring I had concerns which he addressed to my satisfaction. Now the garden is absolutely fantastic I waited to write this review since I want to see the gardens in Spring. They are absolutely beautiful

Gnome At Home (Janelle McQuien)
We were transplants to Nashville from Texas hill country and knew absolutely nothing about growing a successful TN-style garden, or anything about shade planting. We had made an offer on a house whose garden I absolutely loved, and one day when we drove by the house and I saw Janelle there, working away. She was working so hard, I assumed she was the home owner...but no, that's just how she treats everyone's gardens - as if they were her own! :) We didn't end up with the house but we did end up with Janelle information and another house in Sylvan Park for her to help us work some gardening magic on. I'm so glad we connected. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable about gardens, plants and the best locations/treatements for this or that, she is friendly and so easy to work with. Her enthusiasm for her work is apparent and contagious. I just can't say enough things about her. Whether you are an experienced garden, or a newbie, you will be glad you called her

Bought a house in Brentwood with a large, sloping backyard. My husband and I wanted to find someone to terrace it out so our 2 girls would have a place to play and I could have a garden again. I found Chris when another highly recommended contractor told me he wouldn't break ground on a "small" job like ours for over a year. At the time I felt dejected, we have had terrible luck and experiences with GCs in the past, but it ended up being a true blessing in disguise. Not only is Chris Crenshaw a fantastic landscaper and contractor, he is one of the most wonderful people I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with. I only wish we had more work for him to do because we genuinely enjoy having him around. Heck, I tried to talk him into doing our bathroom and kitchen remodel, but he said he "knows better than to do that." Yeah, can't blame him there. The work he did was superb. He took the time and the steps necessary to do it right. The end result is both beautiful and of the highest quality. He was timely, honest, fair, hard working, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took time out of his work to advise me on setting up the garden, to hang the most epic rope swing for my girls, and to educate my husband on chainsaws and brush management for the rest of the property. I cannot understate this: He is simply amazing

The Weeding Woman LLC
Jennifer came with two of her workers and they meticulously hand weeded my entire garden. As it is spring and there are perennials coming up this is delicate work. They recognized and preserved all of my intended plants and removed by the roots all the unwelcome plants. They work quietly (no power tools or shouting) and are tidy (took all the debris with them and left no sign of disruption.) They are prompt and pleasant

She is a real good landscape designer and I like her. I just started with her and she was referred by my friend. My situation was very different; she really gave me a discounted price so you need to talk to some other people regarding the price. I was redoing my front yard and my back yard; she kind of came in with a new perspective and we not only had a big problem with the person who put in my patio, but also the problems I got with my drainage , so I have to teracoat my backyard, front yard and everything else. I have a huge drainage problem and it is kind of getting doubled. She kind of came in and I had four people out and she came with a very cost prospective plan which was nice and I really appreciate that. She addressed the drainage problem. Regarding the quality of work she hasn’t done anything yet, so far they are very good. The chief designer is Nicola Lagudif

I have used JML Landscape Management since 2016, when they did a redesign of a garden circling the pool. Since then, they have redone two other gardens. They also come out to do spring and fall cleanup. Josh is very easy to work with. He truly listens to what you want your garden to look like and factors in how much time & ability you have to care for it. He is always quick to return calls. I have recommended him in the past and in future would highly recommend again

The Davey Tree Expert Company
We have used Davey Tree for all our tree care since we moved to our house six years ago. Everett is wonderful to work with, and the crew is great as well. Very professional, and cleaned up beautifully when finished. They took out a Silver Maple in our backyard. It was a bit of a difficult job because the tree was inside our fence and they couldn't get heavy equipment through our gate - but they have a big crane with which they were able to lift practically the entire tree up and over the fence. It was really something to behold - great entertainment, to see an entire tree being lifted over your fence! :) Davey has also done some "damage control" trimming of trees for us when our neighbor went a little crazy and trimmed off the back half of three trees that were close to her yard. They also installed a couple of Cryptomerias for us, moved a Leyland that was too big for me to move myself, and did some nice thinning of the canopy of an Oak in our front yard. The Oak especially seems so much healthier now, after the pruning. They do beautiful work. For what it's worth, I am a master gardener, so I'm very particular about my garden and what's growing in our yard. I have used them three or four times now, and have been very pleased with the outcome each time

He is awesome. When he goes by my house and sees that the yard needs mowed he just takes care of it. If I need something else done like moving my picnic table he will get some help and take care of it. I got his card at a restaurant while out to eat. He has been helping me get my flower garden going also. He mows. weed eats and blows everything away when he is done. He is working his way through college and does a great job

Gardens of Babylon Landscapes
The owner/manager, Mark, gave me recommendations for garden installation starting in Spring 2015. I like his and Gardens of Babylon's commitment to organic and sustainable environmental materials and practices. The staff that did the garden installation were great--punctual, hard-working and responsive. However, the job was never completed (the final phase needed to be done at a cooler time of year). I have phoned Mark the owner/manager and spoken directly with him three times. Each time he promises to get back to me with photos for ideas for the final phase, but never does. Always apologetic but totally non-responsive. Very disappointing

Worked out well. It was a bit hard to communicate and get on the schedule (I presume due to their heavy workload) the work was done very nicely. The lighting installation is very professional, the water feature has been restored to good condition, and drainage channel works well.

I had observed Goodall Gardens doing an extensive landscaping project for my next door neighbor and had spoken with them on occasion when admiring the progress on the project. I found them to be both knowledgeable and professional. As my wife's birthday approached I decided that I would have a large (8') Japanese Maple installed as a surprise, as she had expressed a desire to add one to our yard. After pricing the tree I wanted, and delivery from a local nursery, I noticed that Tom Goodall was at my neighbors finishing up. I approached him with my questions and time frame, and he was very accommodating.. he had his son pick up the exact tree that I had picked out and had it installed and mulched within only a few hours! I am very pleased with the service that I received, and will definitely use Goodall Gardens again. Tom and I chatted during the job and he was kind enough to give me some tips on helping my yard and a tree that is looking in poor shape. Again, I am very pleased and would give Goodall Gardens an A+ if you allowed it

My husband and I went to an open house at Growild (great time to get big discounts!) years ago. We were both very impressed with the facility and the deep commitment the owners have in helping people understand why using native plants is a "natural" choice. These plants have already adapted to the conditions for surviving in Tennessee, and don't require the TLC that some of the more exotic introduced species demand. Besides that, they are beautiful! Mike Berkley has a large and enthusiastic group of clients. I would believe that he is the foremost expert on TN. plants in the State. He has been on numerous local TV programs and is now installing Green Roofs in downtown Nashville. Local products, local people, what more can you ask

I am very pleased with the work that they have done. The front of my house is now the showcase for my whole neighborhood; I have received countless compliments on the landscaping job. I was also pleased with how he gave me all my options in detail, and it was up to me to decide. He also put a flagstone path from my driveway to the walkway, and the landscaping has an outer boundary of dry stacked stone wall, which separates it from the yard

Jennifer came to meet with me to give me an estimate and she was wonderful! She was so knowledgable that it was obvious she is a master gardener. She really listened and took detailed notes about what I wanted done. She was very prompt in sending a detailed and accurate estimate and then quickly scheduled the job. She and her crew came and worked hard at doing the work exactly as we had agreed. Their work was impeccable and I was very pleased with my yard. Jennifer made the whole process pleasant with her helpful attitude and great communication. I would highly recommend The Weeding Woman to anyone needing her services.
