Extreme Stone Surfaces
1.0
Please, please do yourself a favor and do not deal with this company. They installed a “quartz” island in my house with waterfall edges. I put quartz in quotes because I have no idea what it really is – it broke within a few months, which of course quartz is not supposed to do. When I called to tell them this they said the person I needed to deal with wasn’t in the office that week, would give me a call next week. Of course, no call. I called again, and again, and again, leaving messages and talking to people who said they couldn’t help me. Finally I got a call back saying they had no idea how that happened (the quartz breaking, that is), and that they could schedule an appointment for someone to come look at it. The next appointment was weeks away, and they next appointment that would work with my work schedule was after a ways after that. That guy showed up and said that he could fix it in 10 minutes… except that at the moment, he didn’t have 10 minutes to fix it. Then he spent 10 minutes telling me how to arrange with the office for him to come back for another 10 minutes and fix it. I finally got in touch with the person I needed to talk to at the office and begged them to come send the guy again that week since they next time I would be available was in May. When my May appointment finally rolled around they just…. Didn’t show up. No call. Just didn’t show. They promised me the same appointment window the next day, and that they would even send me a confirmation text. Next day, no text. I called again, and again, and again, and finally the boss confirmed that…. Nope, they were standing me up again. I paid over $6000 for this “quartz” island on top of the builder allotment, it’s broken, and 10 weeks and 20 calls later I still haven’t been able to get them to fix it. Nashville has so many fabricators and I’m sure many of them are capable – please do yourself a favor and deal with any one of the other companies that will own up to it when there is a problem and not leave their customers sitting and waiting for broken appointments. Make sure you know what you're getting - I was told quartz but the finished product broke within months. Also look at the warranty - I was told by Extreme stone that there was a 1 year warranty (sounds great!) but of course if they refuse to honor any repair appointments then the warranty is pretty much useless

On schedule and completed to satisfaction. Our rental house needed a mix of fix and improve projects and we got it all done for a reasonable timing and price. We had work done by them before and can count on them to do quality work.

The estimate was handled via email after first reaching them by phone. All correspondence was prompt and courteous when scheduling. They do not do plumbing so the tub work could not be scheduled until I had a plumber replace the decades old trip lever drain, something that should be done prior to work on the tub if needed. It's a messy procedure but the technician cleaned and prepped the tub and was very neat and did his best to minimize any dust or odors associated with the procedure. The final results are amazing in comparison to the way the tub looked before the work. The only issue I'm not totally happy with is that the non-skid bottom seems a little slick to me without a bathmat and I have been unable to locate a bathmat without suction cups as recommended. However, that said, I would not have liked much more of a non-skid surface put on as taking a bath versus a shower might have been uncomfortable. Overall it was a worthwhile investment

Granite masters of Nashville

The countertops are beautiful and I am very happy with the end result. The biggest issue was when they drilled the holes for our faucet, they installed the clamps for the sink too close to the holes, so the clamps had to be removed for us install our faucet. Instead of drilling new holes so they could move the clamps away from the faucet holes, they put the clamps back in the same place over the top of everything after we installed the faucet. I don’t think this will be a huge problem, just an added step if we ever want to change our faucet. But it was pretty inconvenient because we were unable to use our sink for several days while we waited for them to send someone back out to fix it and they did not clearly communicate what they were going to do to fix the problem

Everything went great. They came out when they said they would. After every day they cleaned up after themselves nicely. The overall quality of work was excellent. They were very fast and efficient. We did a minor problem but they came right away to fix them. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone

MIKE BAKER CONSTRUCTION
3.0
Generally it went very well. Mike kept the subcontracting on-time and on schedule. He knew I was going to be involved watching the quality and the budget. The problem came down to billing. The marble around the fireplace was removed and stored for "safe keeping". While in storage it was damaged and could not be repaired or replaced. Mike tried to charge me for the new materials and labor to fix it. A steamer was put in. It wasn't until after all the surrounding walls were done that I noticed that PVC pipe was used on the output side. This will not work on a steamer. It was a battle to get Mike to go back in and replace it with copper as required. His son did the tile work. We were using some expensive Cristallo glass accent tiles and specifically asked for a white thin-set. Dusty was supposed to set a sample on each and never did. He thought he knew better and put it on a dark thin-set. It was another battle to get him to reset this tile. Generally the work was good and on-time. As shown by the examples given above however, I don't think he is comfortable with an owner actually checking the work and checking the invoices. If anything is found that needs to be redone there were attempts to assign it by saying I had asked for it or by charging me to fix it. I had great paperwork, specs and plans. This protected me several times. By questioning the invoices I was able to identify and eliminate some of the attempts to rebill the redone work

HOLDEN BROTHERS CUSTOM CAB LLC

Once the owner came out and gave his ideas, things started to run more smoothly. The person that was sent out initially, was not very thorough and did not seem to have much knowledge on how to rework the cabinets. She did, however, do an okay job with the countertops. I was not pleased with the time it took to complete this project. I had my countertops completed a month before the cabinet work began, then I had to remind them that the work was promised to be completed the end of September, which it was not. However, since I was not able to be at home this entire time, when I called them about things that needed to be fixed, they would come out and fix them. I had to pay a 50% deposit up front, but I did not pay the rest until I was satisfied. I would probably use them again, but I hope they become more organized

I had spent 11 months planning exactly what I wanted to do in the house, I like to take my time to make sure I get it right the first time and not regret my decisions and this hopefully being our last home having had to move every few years, made the decision process that much longer. In came Sheila and Chaz to do a walk through and see what I wanted to do. I had a long list and they listened, never made me feel that I had to rush through it all, they took their time and gave me so many alternative options for consideration and talked me through the pro's and cons regarding my ideas. We booked some time on that visit for Chaz to come back and start the list, I just had to decide between now and the appointment day which option I was going for....... they would do whatever I chose. I chose their option and I am so glad I did. Chaz has just left our home after spending 3 days with us working on our list and I could not be more thrilled with the work he has done. We have gotten so used to him being here that were missing him already. Chaz and Sheila are a wonderful couple, full of great ideas, hard working, punctual and as honest as the day is long. I had to pop out a couple of times for supplies and left Chaz in charge of the labradors, both of which loved him due to the bag of carrots they knew he brought with him for treats. I have never left anyone in my home alone before, but Chaz is as trustworthy as they come. Very rarely do you meet people that leave a positive lasting impression and are so genuine, but that is Chaz and Sheila. Whatever I need doing in the future, I will be calling them first and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you for a job well done and to exceptional standards and for making such a difference to our home

Look no further - this is your man! Bob Moran was as competent and trustworthy as you would ever want.. He was good to communicate with and I appreciated his suggestions that saved us money in the long run. He took our two front doors that had been severely damaged by the heat and made them look new again. I would not hesitate to use him again in the future. He's a good man

Get A Grip
5.0
Get A Grip was FABULOUS!!! I have continued to use them for the past few years for any tub issues as I remodel homes and get them ready for retail sale. Always prompt in scheduling a time to look. Completely fair/reasonable price for HIGH QUALITY work. (Typically anywhere from $75 for an acid clean to $350+ for complete resurfacing....depends on the extent of the job....but some are $150 fixes, etc....VERY reasonable compared to the high priced bath remodel specialists in town). People who saw the portion of tub that I had done recently thought it will never look right to put on the market. Chipped porcelein etc...and deep grooves of dirt/cracks....not cleanable. The tub looked BRAND NEW!!! I can't say enough about this company. So much so, I created an Angie's list entry for them. If you have any tub issues and need a fresh start without removing a tub and breaking the bank, call Get a Grip as soon as possible. I use them over and over and over. One of the best vendors I use in my business. Highly recommend them to anyone

Granite Transformation Of Nashville

.Every thing went exceptionally well. Every one was extremely nice. How ever i was RIPPED OFF because i have the make of Quartz instead of Granite. The word QUARTZ was never mentioned . FYI my faucet wasnt leaking before the cabinets and back splash was installed. My dish washer was not working after they installed every thing. But the provider did come back and fix my dishwasher. If Angies List cant resolve this issues. I plan to go to the BBB with my complain
I got an appointment for the day after I called. Two electricians came out and quickly fixed both of the problems. I had requested that they wear masks when I made the appointments and they wore them without complaint. Both electricians were professional and kind, and I thought the price was reasonable. I'll be going straight to the Lee Company if we have other electrical needs come up
It does look nice. The tech was wonderful. He was nice and pleasant. He said he couldn't do anything else about it and I'm not sure if someone could have done better but there is a lump in one of the areas because the tiles underneath were broken. They had to seal the tiles so there is a hump, it's not smooth, in an area of the floor. Some of the surface finishing started coming off. I was seeing white spots all over the place. Some were bigger than others. It was like the coating was coming off. The first time it happened was before the painters. The second time, they blamed the painters with their ladders. To me, if you do something, it should be able to take wear and tear but they weren't going to do it. The tech was always very nice but the owner was not always nice. Then the second bathroom started showing these little things too. They weren't going to fix the second bathroom because they were blaming the painters. I offered to pay to have it repaired but the owner said the tech would do it. Owner said I should have told him before they come over. I tried to tell him but the owner wasn't listening to what I was telling him. For the most part, the job looks very, very nice but I would not use them again because of the owner. They did fix both floors without extra cost. He did call later on and apologized
I can't say enough good things about Quinta Contractors! After talking to various contractors for over a year, I finally met Bryan. From the first time he came over to give me an estimate for our renovation to the last day of work, Bryan continued to impress me with his honesty, responsiveness, professionalism, knowledge, and ideas/suggestions. His subcontractors not only showed up when expected, but they did beautiful work and seemed to be very happy to do it. Everything is beautiful and very well done. My husband and I couldn't be happier, and we will definitely use Quinta again
Charles and his crew did an AMAZING job. We couldn't be happier with the final product or the process that got us there. Gibson Interiors was prompt, communicative, respectful of our property, attentive to detail, committed to doing the best job possible. With our new kitchen we are now the envy of the neighborhood
Their service was fantastic, they put it together perfectly, no issues ,. I would highly recommend them. The gentleman was friendly and professional. I could give them higher than 5 star.
He was a bit off sloppy with the painting and ALWAYS late. He would call ...sometimes several times and say he was on his way or that he would be there at 10 or noon and then show up at 2:30! That is why he was at the house for 4 days. He just couldn’t seem to get his act together. Nice guy but not reliable if you were on a schedule and working from hom
We're on one of their annual service agreements. The whole pump and everything was close to $2,400. They also put in a UV bacterial killing air system. So, they also look after the air conditioning system.
My major complaint was how long it took, but in their defense, there seems to be a shortage of qualified technicians. I would have given them an A for the repair work which was fine except for one small slip up which he corrected. The price seemed steep for the time involved, but cheaper than new countertops. All in all, I would hire them agai
Mr. Bain came to our home, sat down with us, and discussed our wants and needs. He gave us a quick, fair, and thorough estimate. Throughout the process he always made himself available and answered any questions we presented to him. His workers were very professional and courteous. They were there when they said they would be and worked hard while they were there. The work they did was fantastic and they always made sure that there was not mess left behind. Overall, we are extremely happy with Roof Roof Nashville and we would highly recommend them to anyone out there who is considering having any work performed on their home. If you are looking for a company who is professional and will be there from start to finish, call Roof Roof Nashville
It went very well, Herschel showed up on time and explained exactly what would happen in the process. When he finished the work, he showed me what he had done and it was perfect. We are selling our home and this is something that had to be repaired after a home inspection.
Initially, they did a good job. Then they got sloppy. Then they didn't come back. They painted the cabinets with wall paint, not kitchen paint. With the tile, the grout is coming up. The laminate flooring is now coming up. I'm seeing cracks on my walls. It's now surfacing. Initially I thought the price was fine. At the end of the reconstruction, I felt that not only was it too much, but materials were left that I paid for
Chirs came to give us an estimate within 2 days of when we first contacted him. He scheduled the work for the following week. Unfortunately, the forecast was wrong and it rained the day he was supposed to come. He called us that day to reschedule and was kind enough to come on a Sunday afternoon because it best fit our schedule. Chris was punctual and very courteous. He did a thorough job cleaning the gutters and downspouts and requested that we inspect his work when he was finished. We highly recommend him
I had contacted several contractors to solicite bids for the work. I had a written description of everything I wanted done and gave it to each contractor. For me this was a way to insure that each contractor was bidding on the same requirements. Mike not only submitted a very detailed estimate, item by item, but had no problem discussing each and every item on the bid with me and some of them several times to be sure I clearly understood what I was getting for my money. As with all such jobs certain things changed as the job progressed. Mike and his team were receptive, responsive, and helpful with suggestions as to how the change might be done in a better way. Even on the rare occasion when Mike was not available his team was responsive and helpful with any ideas or suggestions that my wife or I might have. In fact the only holdup to the project we had was generated not by Premier Maintenance but by the manufacturer of the kitchen cabinets. The entire experience was less stressful and more professional then I had expected especially considering I was a 1000 miles away in New Jersey
