A man came out and looked at the ceiling and around the exterior of the home. He said he was not quite sure what needed to be done and he would need to have his boss come out and look at it and give the estimate. He said he would have his boss call me and set up a time to come back out. Three weeks went by without a phone call and I thought this was just due to it being near the holidays. I did get a call at 10 AM from his boss letting me know he could be there in 20 minutes because he was in the area. I let him know I was on my way out of the house and this was not a good time. I asked if he could meet later in the week and he said he would get back to me to reschedule. I have not heard back from him and I still have this leak. I understand people get busy but it just would have been nice if he would have communicated with me

Drechsler Construction
I did not hire the contractor to perform the services because he provided an open ended time and material contract which was quite high ($4,500). I have a water leak from outside that has caused some damage to my ceiling (about 2 feet across). First of all, he rescheduled 3 times which was a red alert. Then, instead of checking out the damage in person, he asked me to provide pictures and based on that, he provided an estimate / contract via email. I responded back to him with what I though was reasonable however, he never came back to me. I ended up approaching my home insurance. To my surprise, the estimate home insurance provided was only $1,500. Thank god I did not proceed with this contractor

Reliable Handyman Services
I first spoke with Brian on Feb 10th, 2014, asking him if he did plumbing work and drywall replace and patch. He told me that he did, and was able to quote a ballpark price for me after my explanation of the work I needed. He then set an appointment for 9:00 the next morning. Brian showed up on time, assessed the damage, and quoted me a price even a little lower than what he'd mentioned via phone conversation. I told him to get started, and he wrote me out a short "to do list" based on what I needed. He went out to our new local hardware store in town, purchased some of the needed material, fixed the leak upstairs (then tested it) and hung 3 sheets of sheetrock below with 1st coat of spackle put on the seams. While that was drying, he installed all my previously purchased doorknobs and hardware, and then checked that off our "things to do list". When he was finished with that, he proceeded to sand down his spackle work, and let me know that there was no evidence of mold or rot, and told me that he would return when I needed him to (which was the next day), and finished with a second coat, and paint. THIS Reliable Handyman was very professional, clear about his methods and pricing, very clean, and pleasant to be around. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone who needs help

A-1 HANDYMAN SERVICE
I called another Angies List provider. He was backed up for several weeks, so he referred me to A-1. I called, and John K**** (the contractor) answered on his cell phone, and we discussed the project. Yesterday ( a few days later), he called and asked if he could install the Fan on that day. Sure! He arrived promptly, and opened up the Fan box, only to find that the instructions were poorly written (and incomplete). After analyzing what was there (and not wanting to cut one of the joists to install this Fan), he ran out to buy a board for cowling it into place. He cut the board to fit, and hammered the Fan into place. Then he wired the circuit into an on/off switch in the hallway. Finally, he laid out some tarps, and cut-out a 28x28and quot; square in the ceiling, and attached the louvers. Click . . . air zoomed in from all the opened windows. I used it and quot;for realand quot; this morning. Even though it was 63 degrees out this morning, the interior temperature dropped from 75 to 71 degrees (so, most mornings will be even better)... and brought in more fresh air than I have ever had before. He did the major clean-up, and was finished within 4 hours (including the 45 minute trip to Home Depot for the board). He is polite, quick and focused on the job. What's not to like about that? I have another project (in a bathroom) that I will have done in a few months. I plan to call A-1 when that day arrives

All Phase
The job went better than expected and came in on time and at a very fair price. Disruption to tenants was kept at a minimum and no complaints. All phase made sure the job site was cleaned up and made safe every day. David communicated with us every day as to progress and what could be expected and more importantly what might be unexpected. This "best to worst scenario" helped us with keeping the tenants informed and things running smoothly and they did. We were pleased with the attention to detail, courtesy to our tenants, the quality of the work, the ability and knowledge to complete the job on schedule, the daily communication and of course the fairness, honesty and value in regards to the final cost

Not a good experience. When I first called Mr. Costa and told him of the projects I had, he acknowledged he could do that and would call me back. He did and said he would be over on a weekend to take a look. He did not show up, nor did he call to cancel. I called him within the next week to give him the benefit of the doubt in case I misunderstood him. He said that I did not misunderstand him and that he had a family issue to deal with. He subsequently called to set a date to look at what I had and give me an estimate. He did come over, but I never got an estimate. A week or so later he called and said he had a free day and could come over. When I asked him what would be the purpose, he said to install the cooktop. My project was to install a new kitchen sink, gas cooktop and fasten a ceiling cabinet that was breaking away. I told Mr. Costa that I would not buy any product until I had a commitment from a contractor to install it. NO ESTIMATE & NO COMMITMENTat that point. Now I am really getting baffled about this man. I do not know whether Mr. Costa had personal, business or other issues, but after weeks of trying, I called him the first part of December and left a voice message that I was going to hold off until after the first of the year to do anything. After much consideration and my experience with Mr. Costa, I have decided that he is not the reliable, stable contractor that I want to deal with.

I had been attempting for a day and one-half to find a fence repair service interested in doing a small, but very necessary, fence repair and had been unsuccessful. I decided to call WGT Handyman Services thinking, if it wasn't something they would do, they might recommend someone else. I had read a review of their services saying the great work they had done. I telephoned in the morning telling them exactly what I needed done. The gentleman I spoke with said they had a job to do that afternoon but could they come over after they were back in the area from that job. They telephoned late in the afternoon to tell us they would be at our house in about 1/2 hour. They arrived about 6:00 pm. They had brought along everything they needed to repair the fence and asked if they could do it that evening - which, of course, I thought was GREAT! They completed the repair that evening and it was perfectly done and the area was cleaned perfectly. In addition to their excellent work, they are just very nice, helpful people. Anything we need done on our home in the future, we will trust them to do it. We were very lucky to find WGT Handyman Services of Turlock. This is regarding the second time WGT Handyman Services of Turlock helped us. I called WGT Handyman Services of Turlock early morning to ask them to help us again and explained what needed to be done. Gary asked if they could come over in the afternoon after finishing scheduled appointments. They telephoned in the afternoon to ask if it would still be convenient if they came over shortly. Of course it was! But it was very nice they are thoughtful enough to call. We needed a new kitchen faucet installed and all connections under the kitchen sink checked and repaired if neceessary. We also needed the toilet repaired in the first floor bathroom. They went to a store to get an item needed and promptly made installations and repairs - again PERFECTLY. They also carefully cleaned up the areas where they worked. Besides their doing exceptionally fine work, we appreciate how really nice they are and we know both they and their recommendations and advice can be trusted completely. We will be asking them to help us again - and again
