My wife and I decided to take on a large renovation project to completely remodel the bathroom, redo the exterior of the house, fix a plumbing problem, add ventilation to the kitchen, replace some old windows, update a majority of the storm windows, add an electrical outlet for HVAC in the attic, custom French door to the closet, repair some drywall and upgrade the kitchen sink. We used Northrup on a previous project so we asked them to bid on the project. Just like the previous project, their vision and proposal perfectly matched our style so it was an easy decision. Also, their expertise in older houses showed a more accurate price than their competitors so the end cost was 100% spot on when it was time to pay the bill. In regards to the owner, team lead/project manager and extremely talented engineers, carpenters, painters, plumbers, etc. they showed a tremendous amount of care for our house, opinions and vision. So if you are high maintenance and expecting perfection, Northrup is the company for you. 1. Exterior of the house: The house was painted, a new mailbox was installed, a new house number plate was installed, new storm windows were installed and custom pediments above the main windows were installed. 2. Gut and remodel bathroom: Everything was replaced in the bathroom. We went with the top of the line fixtures, tile, ventilation, electrical and paint. Their team is so talented and now we have a small spa in our house. 3. Ventilation in the kitchen: We were unable to cook steaks because there was no ventilation in the kitchen. They implemented a custom ventilation with custom woodwork covering the ventilation pipes. 4. New kitchen faucet and fixed plumbing problem: This sounds simple but it was not. We had water leaks and they showed us why it happened. In summary, they fixed a serious water problem and made it look beautiful. They also installed a new faucet and cabinet hardware. 5. Electrical for HVAC: We decided to wait on installing air conditioning and opted to focus on other projects, but in preparation for a later project, they performed the electrical work in the attic. Without opening any walls, they spent 4 hours carefully pulling the wires through the wall. Amazing. 6. Custom French doors to the walk-in closet: This also sounds like a simple job but is was extremely difficult. They put the most beautiful framing around doors, installed antique brass/crystal door handles, matched the new wood flooring to the old flooring and installed floor mounted door latches so the doors don?t rattle when the windows are open. Special thanks goes out to the owner (Mark) and the team lead/project manager (Ron) for amazing job. We love all of it!
