Roman and Alex where great to work with. They where very responsive to any questions that i had. The window and door installers have had years of experience replacing windows, as it showed in their workmanship. The windows and doors I purchased where Sunrise Windows. You can see that they are well made and that the factory takes pride in their product. I will definately continue to use Discount Windows for the contiued replacement of my windows in my home.

THOMPSON EXTERIORS
2.0
In July, I contacted Thompson Exteriors for estimates for replacement windows and a bay window installation. While the associates were friendly and professional, their responsiveness and commitment to deadlines was disappointing. I made it clear from the beginning that I was looking for the bay window installation to take place before October as I was having family visit; I was given repeated assurances that it would be. Over the almost two months I was working with them I had to push and call repeatedly to get responses and, for reasons I don't understand, the cost ballooned by almost $1,000. I explained that I was willing to commit to do business with them and was wanting to sign; this was still met with cancelled appointments and broken promises of returned calls. Due to the manufacturer's turnaround time the absolute earliest the window can be installed (as of today) is mid to late October, assuming they would actually keep to a commitment to meet and sign papers. I absolutely want to support local businesses and was willing to do so even though the cost was more than the big-box stores; being ignored in this fashion makes me second-guess that decision and has pushed me in a different direction. I feel that I have wasted two months of my time; two months that I could have spent with a company that actually wanted my business and treated me like it.

WE ARE VERY SATISFIED. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL EVERY STEP ALONG THE WAY. THE NEW BAY WINDOW IS TERRIFIC--IT LOOKS LIKE A PIECE OF FINE FURNITURE. THEIR PRICE WAS A LOT HIGHER THAN OTHER BIDS WE RECEIVED, BUT AFTER SEEING THE RESULTS OF THEIR WORK, THE PRICE FEELS FAIR.

Great service from beginning to end, I had to wait almost 8 weeks to have the job done but that was okay, they told me upfront and I didn't mind waiting. The guys were very clean and professional. They were very careful to not make a mess and clearly took a lot of pride in their workmanship. It was threatening rain most of the day the door was put in and they were concerned that if they applied the final touches to the outside with caulk it would be unsatisfactory. They opted to wait until the next day and come back when the weather was clear to finish the job right. I was impressed with their attention to small details, I will definitely hire them again for my window needs.

HORRIBLE experience. Nice windows, but not worth the misery of dealing with these people. Rude, hard to reach by phone. Sloppy work. Left cigarette butts everywhere, broken glass from old windows left on lawn. Sharp metal scraps in lawn. Globs of caulking all over. Trampled my bushes and broke my garden boxes. Left much garbage behind. After waiting 3 months for my windows to come in, they had half of them in the wrong color, so more waiting with a hole in my wall in winter, and plastic over it. Cut wrong size hole for window (2 big). Installed window anyway & left chunks of stucco broken on my outside wall. After months of calling, they finally came back out enough times to fix the shoddy work. Gaps left around windows that wind could come through. Very unprofessional. I could have done a better job. The worker was condescending towards me when I pointed out gaps, and called me "honey". So disappointed, I can't even begin to explain how bad the experience was. DON'T do it!!!!!!!

They keep in the warmth but we needed assistance on the bay window and they would not come back out to fix it. They were prompt and did the work. We did get mold and they said for us to turn down the humidifier. They never came back to fix the bay window.

Window World Of Twin Cities

We are doing all windows, 13 in all, three at a time. Window World has so far completed 7 of them. Last year they replaced a Bay Window, everything went well from phone help and sales call to the installation. I have heard that WW uses cheaper materials etc in order to keep price down and such. I have no complaints about the quality of the Windows or the workmanship of the installation. If the materials they use are lesser quality I have not noticed and I will take the low price over the competition. I would recommend WW to friends and family.

Capital Siding Windows & Roofing
5.0
I was delighted with the entire process. Jeff is very easy to talk to and courteous and gives what I felt were honest recommendations and the craftsmanship is flawless. I own a house built in 1940 and have a set of bay windows that were improperly installed probably 10-15. The aluminum aprons were installed backwards so when it rained, water flowed into the water sill, not away from it. Also, the exterior aluminum wrap had been installed haphazardly, so water was getting through several seams, into the base of the window, and trickled down into my basement. I had no idea how severe the damage was, so I decided to get the windows completely replaced. In total, I had five different companies come out to take a look. One company didn't want to do the work because it was "too erroneous" and another company never got back to me. Capital Siding had the highest bid but not by much, and their solution seemed to be the best and also involved the most work. I'm very happy with the completed project. Looking at the exterior of the house, the new windows match the other windows perfectly, which was extremely important to me and tough to accomplish. The same is true looking at the windows from the interior of the house. They also made subtle changes to the eave and overhang so that water would pour off the roof instead of flow down the window. This was a nightmare of a task because of the intricacy of the eave (this is why one of the one bidders told me he didn't want to do it), but like everything else, it now looks perfect. The real test will come in the spring with the rainstorms but feel very comfortable that my new windows will withstand our MN storms.

Very well. I was concerned about our custom wood cedar siding. They installed it and the cedar looks untouched. They did their job without being intrusive. They showed us what they were doing and answered questions without making us feel like we were obstructing or a bother.

Hoffman Weber Construction
5.0
We used Hoffman Weber for a bay window and everything went great! We have an older modular style home and they were very knowledgeable in finding just the right window for our wall thickness and size needs. The installation was done in a very timely and professional manner. As a homeowner, an important factor to us was the clean-up. When they were done, there was nothing for us to do - they were very considerate of our plants and bushes that they had to work around, and they left no debris.

The crew of Window Concepts MN were very professional, polite and provided good communication during the install process. The sales staff and support staff were also provided great communication during the whole process. Never did I feel pressured to buy my window from them and they answered all of my questions. The window itself is of good quality. I would purchase more windows from them.

The project went very well and we are very pleased with their work. From the beginning I was impressed with the expertise and genuine interest and concern for the project we wanted completed. Unlike other large contractors, it felt like we were doing business with a company that really cared and saw us not just as another assembly-line project. The approximate timeline they gave us in the beginning was pretty accurate. Once they gave us a specific day, they started then and didn't delay. The workers were professional, efficient, and fast. The end product was amazing, and very polished. There were not unforeseen upgrades or costs that came up after we signed the contract, which was a relief. The only thing that could be improved was their site clean-up as there was extra material, broken lightbulbs and some garbage remaining after they left.

Scherer Window & Door Consultants
5.0
Dave Wahlstrom at Scherer Windows was our sales consultant that helped us design a beautiful bay window to fit in the space where we had a non-ventilating picture window box in our living room. Instead of a prefabricated bay window, Mitch (the subcontractor/installer) created a bay with a large center picture window and two double-hung flanker windows (all Infinity by Marvin windows). They insulated the previously cold wall, as they had to build out the frame of the bay window. The windows were finished with a maple stool and apron casing to match the other windows of the house. They re-sided with cedar shingles on the exterior of the window box so that it appears as though the bay window was always a part of the house. We are now able to enjoy a living room with functioning windows in the summer and no ice sheets forming during the winter.

Recent Review: We absolutely LOVE our bay window! Our experience with Mad City was very professional; from our initial inquiry with Brian, who was thorough with their products, answering all our questions and working with our budget, to the installers who were on time and finished the install in 4 hours - it was a big (21" sash) window. Their lead, John, was very meticulous and attentive to detail and made sure everything was completed. It did take 2 1/2 mos. to receive the window from the initial order, but part of that was due to Covid delays. We are saving up to have the rest of the house windows done and we will be calling Mad City again when the time comes!😊

Recent Review: Measurements were accurate and the replacement of trim as well as the finishing around the windows was excellent. Exterior trim was also very good. Caulking around the windows on the exterior was average, but when called out, Heyn responded immediately and took corrective action. Clean up was average. In particular, I would have preferred that the affected areas be dragged with a magnet to pick up the nails and other metal detritus. That wasn't done. The dumpster was picked up promptly, but additional materials were left on the lawn. Again, when called, the issue was addressed immediately. The project manager was very attentive to our requests and concerns. The job was moved up due to a job that was moved back...getting the call and having the work done early was appreciated. I cannot adequately respond to the quality of the windows, yet...in terms of appearance, finish and the hardware, everything measures up, but the true test (&, in fact, the reason we had all the windows replaced) will be this winter...leakage, insulation, condensation.

Recent Review: Although our house has Marvin windows, we went with Andersen without checking other providers. This was because we were happy with the Andersen windows and doors in our previous house, we were very impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of our salesperson and we have always felt that Andersen is an excellent company. The ordering process went very well. The two installers were excellent in every way. They worked hard, obviously were extremely professional and were nice people to have around the house. They were meticulous in cleaning up after themselves. The windows were stained by an Andersen subcontractor after a wait of a couple of weeks as the two services were not coordinated. This was a disappointment. There was one installation problem and the customer service gentleman was difficult to work with, telling me that I should just push in a board. The reason I couldn't push it in was that there was another board in the way. When an employee came out to remedy the situation he told me that the board was warped and no amount of pushing would have done anything. He replaced the board and all was well with the world. A few months later - the windows are working well and we have had no problems.

Recent Review: They showed all of the options, the types of windows, the colors. They performed heat lamp tests on window samples to show us how the heat and cold air from the outside will not affect the inside temperature. They appear to enlarge the rooms and really improve visibility to the outside. They brighten the rooms. We are totally satisified.

Recent Review: It went well. We bought the door ourselves, doing the measurements ourselves, with the intention that my husband would put it in himself. Then when we looked at the instructions and looked online for additional youtube instructions, we started thinking it looked a bit too hard, and we even started thinking we might not have measured correctly. Basically, we chickened out. When Mike was here at the house measuring our windows as a sub contractor for another company, he noticed the storm door laying in our porch. I shared my concerns and he checked the size and said the size was fine, and he could put it in a few weeks later when he came back to put in our windows. Which he did. When he was installing the storm door I realized how hard it was to do, and how good it was that we had not tried to do it ourselves. We would not have been able to do it well, and if you damage the door you can't return it, of course. And not doing it well would have defeated the purpose of having a tightly sealed storm door, especially living here in MN. He did an excellent job in every way, put in the "thing" that holds the door open when you want to bring something big in, etc., all things we would have struggled with greatly. I would recommend BGI without any hesitation. :-)

Recent Review: Excellent. We have a 1908 home in St. Paul. We looked at vinyl replacement windows but decided Paul from Restoration Window Systems was right that our current 100 year-old windows lasted 100 years and would outlast any vinyl replacement windows. On our 2nd floor, Paul replaced the ropes and pulley with rebuilt existing windows so that they can be tilted like any vinyl window. Installer Mark did a great job and did an excellent job at cleaning up the job site after each day. We definitely recommend Paul's firm for anyone with an older home with original windows that need repair.

Recent Review: Everyone from the salesman Pat to the actual work crew was very professional and responsive to our needs and concerns. We actually contracted to have the basement windows and house siding done while we were on vacation. What a wonderful experience to come home after 10 days to find nearly all the work done, except for a few finishing details. My neighbors gave positive reports of the consideration and professional attitude of the work crew, with care being taken of their property. There were two small areas of concern where our front porch roof met the siding, and after chatting with Pat and Lucas, the crew chief, these two areas were fixed and look wonderful. At NO time did we feel that our questions or opinions were unwelcome or ignored. Lance and the office staff kept us informed in advance of the schedules and timing of everyone visiting our house. We were never surprised by someone just randomly showing up, whether for pre-install checks or actual installation. Our replacement skylight will be installed tomorrow, and we couldn't be happier. Salesman Pat understood our need to have this window fix done before winter to avoid continuing ice dam problems, and he and the CSC group have gone above and beyond to make this happen for us. With the exception of the skylight, the estimated price that Pat gave us is what we paid. Due to the age and odd installation of our kitchen skylight, it is costing us only slightly more than what was originally estimated, but not outrageously so. We actually have a few more projects that need to be tackled in the next couple of years, and I can safely say that we will be contacting CSC Exteriors when we are ready.

What do customers in Minneapolis say about Bay Window Installation?

I got bids from 4 different places. Lowe’s was the cheapest but that could have been because of who I choose to get bids from. The reason that they had an edge was because they did not have to add tax for some reason. The people that I worked with were very pleasant and made an effort to connect with us, but at the same time they were very professional. They contracted it out to another company. When I find the name of that company I will add it. They scheduled with us and a large crew showed up and had all the windows installed in a day. The next day one man showed up to finish the wrap. They were timely and efficient. It was a good experience.
