We are very happy with Handy Rite, they were a pleasure to work with. Ben, Stacy and Vlad were all very personable and professional. They always responded quickly to communications, and gladly accommodated our requests. The quality of the work is excellent and they finished it very quickly, and all for a great price. Who could ask for more? They're top-notch in every way. We would absolutely hire them again and enthusiastically recommend them.

Troy and his crew were phenomenal! They kept to a tight schedule during Covid and did a great job. Any time something came up they were quick to address and were very easy to work with. Everyone on his team, including sub-contracted work were excellent and very helpful/knowledgeable. Troy was always accomodating for our tight budget and helped us get what we wanted within the agreed upon budget with no surprises. Will be hiring again for more work. Work done: his team finished our basement (1000 sqft), including framing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, drywall, mudding, water lines, painting and carpentry work (doors, trim, etc.)

Tom is amazing! He gives creative suggestions and is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of carpentry and painting. He currently removed an old railing and installed a new railing in living room and dining room. I had many nail holes, old patches, and uneven spots on the walls and Tom patched and skimmed the walls and then painted them. They look brand new! Several years ago Tom had framed walls, installed a closet and designed a kitchen in my basement for a rental unit and it turned out magnificent! I would highly recommend Tom!

Country Creek Builders Inc

Our project to finish our basement with Country Creek Builders (CCB) was a very good experience. We started with a look at the CCB website and were extremely impressed with the photos, and videos of completed CCB projects. We noticed CCB offered a range of ballpark estimates using various quality and design choices. We completed the request for consultation on a Thursday evening, Dan called us back Friday morning and set up a time to meet with us on Monday. Dan came out, met with us, and explained his company’s approach for the design, estimation, and project completion standpoints. His design approach included our ideas, wants, requests, or wishes. Dan made recommendations that were up to us to accept or not, and then drafted a first stage design of our basement. After our alignment and acceptance of his designs, we moved into the estimation phase of the project. His estimate included a detailed line by line breakdown of each phase of the project with the corresponding materials and labor costs. He patiently worked with us to add, modify, and or remove various line items to align with our budget. Upon alignment of the estimate with our budget, we signed off on the project contract. Dan estimated the project would be completed in eight (8) weeks and this is when the skills, craftsmanship and talent of Dave kicked in! Dave and the crew (Dave, Jesus, Carlos, and Jeremy) were always polite, respectful of our home and were open to our suggestions. We cannot say enough about Dave and the entire crew and their eye for ensuring that things were done right. All timelines listed in the CCB App were met with minimal to no adjustments. Dave and his team are skilled craftsmen in what they do. The result was a meticulously built finished basement according to our wishes and specifications. We are extremely happy with our basement and highly recommend Country Creek Builders!

After meeting with several other contractors we chose Country Creek Builders to finish our basement. When we met Dan, the owner, for the first time at our home we felt confident we made the right choice. He is thorough & detail oriented with his plans so that once the project begins you get exactly what you want. Dan was great to work with. He was always very communicative throughout the entire process, stayed on top of deadlines outline from the start of the project, and he always took care of any issues that came up during the project and made them right. Everyone on the Country Creek crew was very friendly and respectful of our home. The workmanship on everything is outstanding. We absolutely could not be happier with the result. This is our forever home and we will be enjoying the space Country Creek built for us for many years to come. If we could give more that 5 stars, we would. Thank you Dan and team for making our dream come true!

David was great to work with from quote to project completion. We had a completely unfinished basement and now have a beautiful living space, including a new bedroom and bath and a living room with a fireplace and wet bar. David's quote was one of the lower ones that we received, but also one of the most detailed so that we could be sure there wouldn't be surprises or unnecessary overhead. He was easy to work with when discussing our desired room design, offering smart suggestions about how certain things would work and/or look. He was very fair when we had to make design changes to the fireplace after it was already framed up. David's tiling and woodwork is impeccable, and his plumbing and electrical subs also do great work.

A great experience working with David. He was dedicated to the job start to finish, and I was really impressed with the quality of the work. The electrical work was very nicely done. I love the new lighting in the basement family room and the storage and mechanical areas. Don't worry about him going from job to job. He always made us a priority. Professional, knowledgeable, and has a good group of subcontractors. He is pleasant, listens well, and I never thought that he was tired of my questions. As the job progressed, I added more work, because I saw he was doing so well with it, I kept him going fixing a bunch of other stuff around the house! Definitely hire again. I have many more projects lined up for him! My only regret was doing some work myself and not having him do it! Also, his millwork is perfection. I have never seen such perfectly mitered corners in any house I've had. Outstanding. Thanks, David! We'll talk to you soon. :o)

Our overall experience with Finished Basement was very good. The basement turned out as we envisioned, but it did require us to remain engaged throughout the project. The key point here is that its *your project* and you need to be involved all the way along. That said, Finished Basement is fully capable of taking a project from inception to completion with minimal involvement from the homeowner but its in your own interest to remain involved. The reason being is that you are building a custom solution and that means unexpected challenges will occur which require discussion or even pivoting during construction. If you are present its much easier to navigate any issue that may arise. Here are some key highlights of our project that we think will help others. Basement Design - This is a key capability for Finished Basement as their designers are well versed since they see many different designs. We would recommend prior to meeting with Finished Basement that you sit down and really think about what you want. This will produce a much richer conversation when you do meet with your designer. We would also recommend to make sure you are comfortable with your designer. If you don't feel a connection interview a different designer because this is an emotional experience and a big purchase. You want to enjoy the journey you are about to embark on and that's why its important to work with someone you trust. Our designer, Jean, was a thoughtful and energetic person who quickly understood what we wanted the space to be for our family. Project Management (construction) - Here again its important to feel comfortable with the project manager as they will be in your house everyday overseeing work. Our project manager, Matt, was very thoughtful and emphasized working with him if there was an issue with any construction concerns that arose. You should also discuss with the project manager what is important to you and this should cover everything from specific construction elements all the way to contractors. \\ Things You Should Know // * Custom Wood Work - We had some custom wood work done and the results were excellent, but make sure you are prepared for the fumes. Specifically enameling, varnishing, and staining have high levels of fumes that can be hard to tolerate. Admittedly we were not prepared for the level of fumes and ended up keeping all our windows open even during a few cold nights in September - October. It was only a few days and we knew the results would be good so we tried to keep air moving at all times. The custom wood work is worth it, but be prepared to deal with fumes. I would also note that the fumes caused our water heater to "lock out" because there was a sensor on it that triggered due to the fumes. Our project manager took care of the problem by purchasing a couple extra sensors to ensure we got the water heater back up and running because our original sensor became compromised after triggering too many times. This is an example of where Finished Basement made sure to do what was right and handle the situation. * Lighting - If you have a non-walkout basement like us and the electrician suggests putting in what appears to be a lot of lighting don't fight it. We found the electricians employed by Finished Basement to be excellent and their recommendations were spot on. All of the lighting they suggested was absolutely necessary and we are very happy to have all of it installed. * Unexpected Challenges - There will be unexpected issues that arise and is no one persons fault. This could be anything from damaged deliveries, permit issues, wrong items, or anything that simply was not planned. Keep an open mind and discuss the challenge with your project manager. Pretty much anything can be addressed within reason as long as you bring it up immediately and be prepared that you may need to adjust as well. We had a to make a couple alterations along the way but we asked ourselves if anyone would know the difference and in the end almost always the answer is "no". We did not comprise quality, but did make a couple trade-offs to keep things moving along. * Cost - The cost of our project was a fair amount higher then we budgeted. If you have a tight budget Finished Basement may not be the re-modeler for you. That said, you are paying for a turnkey solution that included certain services we wanted such as a designer and project manager to handle all the different construction trades. On our project we had several different trades onsite so it was important to have all the trades managed through a single person. * Timing - Be prepared that construction will last for a few months and your life will be interrupted. Not much else to say except to remember you wanted to finish your basement which means people have to constantly be going in and out of your house. No way around it, just focus on how great things will be when the project is finished.

Ben is wrapping up the tail end of my basement finish. He's been fantastic the entire time, from coming and getting me a quote to the quality of the work performed (framing, insulation, drywall, mud & tape). He's turned my concrete and block basement into a great looking, usable space that I can continue to enjoy. I would definitely hire again in the future for other jobs.

We had only been in our home for about a year when we discovered we were expecting our second child. We love our home, but it's small so we needed to maximize the square footage to accommodate our expanding family (especially our very energetic two year old!) We went through Angie's List and found three highly rated companies for quotes. We met with Jim for the estimate and he drew up a preliminary design and emailed us a line-itemed quote that thoroughly broke down the final cost. Jim seemed to be very knowledgeable about all things related to the building process and he really put our minds at ease. Although On Time's quote came back the highest vs. the other companies, we felt most comfortable with them. Unfortunately, shortly after signing with On Time, Jim suffered a personal emergency and we were no longer able to work with him. Pavel quickly picked up where Jim left off and became our project manager. We met with him at their showroom in Hopkins to finalize the design and Pavel had some great suggestions on making the space "kid friendly" (i.e. finishing options that would stand up to years of abuse!) Because we were able to fit into On Time's schedule a little early, they offered to cover the cost of the demo, which we greatly appreciated and Pavel was always open to letting us do whatever work we wanted to help keep the costs down. The first few weeks were a flurry of activity - demo, framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC - and I cannot tell you how impressed we were with the crew that was assigned to our project. They always showed up "On Time", if not early, every day and worked hard and late into the evening on many occasions (we had several neighbors notice this as well - they were equally impressed). The subcontractors were also excellent. Everyone was prompt, polite, and professional and it was very clear that they were all very good at their craft. Pavel was a wonderful project manager and we appreciated his quick responses to emails and phone calls. We set up weekly project updates, and any time there was an issue or a change that we wanted to make, Pavel got back to us promptly. For instance, on the day the electrical rough-in was completed and everyone had left for the day, there was a wiring issue with the breaker that ran the refrigerator. It was a Friday, and we weren't looking forward to a weekend without a working fridge! We called Pavel at about 6:00 PM and he picked up the phone right away, contacted the electrician, and the issue was fixed within an hour. We made several changes throughout the process and nothing was ever an issue and most recommendations that Pavel or the crew made were very helpful. Even with inspection delays, the project was completed well within the expected time frame. In the end, our experience with On Time was everything we could've hoped for. This was a significant project with a significant cost, and if you do your research, you really do get what you pay for - PEACE OF MIND that your project is in good hands. Thank you to Pavel, Karnil, Vasiliy and the rest of the On Time crew for the wonderful addition to our home. We look forward to using it for many years to come!

Project done on time and on budget at great value. Maria clearly explained all steps in process and Pavel made recommendations to make basement layout more livable and to help improve eventual resale value. The workers were on time and they finished up the project within 5 weeks. Would definitely work with them again.

What do customers in Minneapolis say about Framing Basement Walls?

I hired handyman matters for the second time this year to work on finishing the basement. The carpenter framed the basement walls, installed insulation, and hung two doors. The concrete floor was also leveled so that laminate flooring can be installed (by another company). The work performed was of the highest quality. Keith was excellent at communicating with us throughout the project and showed us the work that he did during each phase. We will be hiring them again to some work upstairs installing tile in an entry way and refinishing the hardwood floor in our kitchen. The pricing was fair and upfront, with no surprises when it came time to pay the bill. We definitely feel that this company provides great value as their work truly is top notch.
