Wendt's Concrete & Masonry
We had a 25 year old brick sidewalk that needed to be replaced. We contacted Wendt's for an estimate. He was very thorough in the description of what was to be done and the time frame for the work. Our driveway is curved, narrow and surrounded by trees. We were very concerned of possible damage from a large cement delivery truck. He utilized a smaller type of motorized hauler to bring the concrete from the street to the work site to be sure there was no damage. The work date was delayed only one day due to heavy rain. The workmanship was excellent. The concrete walkway turned out beautiful--he maintained the curved appearance and used a picture frame effect around the joints. He even sealed the concrete, (which was not initially included on the estimate). We were very pleased. We would definitely use this company for any future work

WE RECEIVED THE PROPOSAL ON 5/25/01 AND THE WORK WAS FINALLY COMPLETED ON 9/26/01 AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO THE COMPANY. AT LEAST TWO TIMES THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE COMING AND DIDN''T SHOW. I WOULDN''T SAY THE QUALITY OF THE WORK IS REALLY BAD, BUT WE ARE NOT VERY PLEASED WITH THE COLOR AND THE JOINTS IN THE CONCRETE. THEY DIDN''T PUT ANY CURING COMPOUND ON THE CONCRETE WHICH WOULD HAVE MADE THE COLOR UNIFORM. THEY DID NOT CLEAN UP THE CONCRETE OFF OF THE SIDING OF THE HOUSE. THE CONCRETE SLOPES TOWARD THE HOUSE AND WATER PUDDLES ON THE CONCRETE AFTER IT RAINS. THE EDGES OF THE SLAB AND THE JOINTS ARE CROOKED. THE PRICE WAS LESS THAN OTHER BIDS AND NOW WE KNOW WHY

I got many estimates and I felt that they were the most knowledgeable and professional. For the concrete porch, we had a designer who quoted the dimensions, and his estimate was based on these dimensions. When they started the job though, they realized that those dimensions were incorrect as the porch actually had to be larger. They did not charge us any additional fees to enlarge the porch from what they initially quoted. Also, we had downspouts that that drained onto the porch which created a very icy area in the winter. He was able to dig trenches for the drains so they ran under the new porch and into the yard eliminating the problem of the ice build up. On one of the sidewalks, they were also able to eliminate a step that was used in the previous construction (which was a real pain!). I believe they truly went above and beyond, as they also replaced a slab of concrete for free that was part of another sidewalk that we did not have replaced. Their estimate was not the lowest, yet not the highest, but I truly think that the little extra we did pay was truly worth it and I would highly recommend them! His business dealings were very honorable

Bruce returned my call the following day. He came out and gave me an estimate and described what he proposed to do. Bruce then mailed me a quote which I signed and returned. After he received my signed quote, he called to schedule a date to do the work. Because it was so early in the season, he wanted to wait until it got a little warmer. Since time was not an issue with me, that worked out fine. He arrived a couple of weeks later about 10 in the morning. He removed the old 24" sidewalk and formed and poured a new 42" sidewalk. He pulled the forms and was completed by 3 in the afternoon. Bruce did a great job. I am very satisfied and would use him again

MARIO'S CONCRETE
His crew was on time, took out about 50 ft of old sidewalk along with a large slab, pulled out old retaining wall and built a new one that looks great, he also did a great job on the new sidewalk and steps by the street. I will be giving any and all my jobs to him from now on.

Darren was prompt at returning my phone message and we talked through the project and what I needed to get done. He gave me a phone quote for $475. We were able to set up a time for the job. Darren was very good and professional about the scheduling phase which was affected by another job and weather. On the day of the job, Darren showed up prior to the time I expected so that he could survey the project and park his equipment in a way that would not affect my neighbors or traffic on my street. I have to say that the work performed and the clean up of the old gravel driveway was beyond my expectations. Darren cleaned up an unsightly driveway, rock and dirt pile. My neighbors must have been impressed too because I saw one of them approach Darren at the end of the job and ask for a quote! I almost wish I had another project, because everything went so smoothly

A few months ago our family moved to a house that had not been updated since the early 70's. This included the landscaping. I hired His Workmanship to remove landscaping rock and some dead bushes that were impossible to remove myself since the rock had sunk into the soil. They also hauled all the landscaping rock away. It was a huge project, and they completed it in two 6 hour days. What I really appreciated about His Workmanship was their responsiveness. I got an email back within 12 hours of my initial inquiry, and someone promptly responded to every email. This really cannot be underestimated, since I have dealt with may unresponsive contractors. For a project like this, His Workmanship was an affordable alternative to a traditional landscaping company

This is a time consuming process. We had to empty out the garage and it was several days for them to get it done. The result was beautiful. As it has been over a year now, a few issues that have come up. First, these floors get extremely slippery when wet. This is a problem that requires careful notice when snow or rain get into the garage. I'm really not sure this is a good climate (Wisconsin) for this kind of thing. Second, we had the coating extended beyond the garage door about 3and quot; to meet the edge of our concrete driveway. Not sure if this was a result of the snowplowing in the winter, but, that extended edge cracked and buckled, so, we now have a very rough front portion to the epoxy finish. Neither of these issues were the appliers fault, they were very professional and did what they promised. If you use them, I would not encourage you to extend the edge beyond your garage door. They did not force us to do this. With regard to the slippery surface, I don't know if there is a solution. When clean and dry it looks really nice and it does seem to be a very tough finish

Their attention to detail for a cement drive was very impressive...All joints were measured out to be evenly spaced, many measurement taken for accurate thickness, layout of new driveway was checked for squareness was most impressive. The 5 guys there worked very well together, no wondering what net steps were...all of the workers excellent and check his website for the great work they do...what you see is what you get...and very reasonably priced...I usually dont give reviews but Southeast Construction is the best...Gerr

Gabe has done numerous sealing and paving projects for me. I was referred to him years ago by a close friend. I contacted Gabe and he quickly returned my call and came out to estimate the project. He and his crew worked quickly and efficiently to remove and re-grade the driveway and turnaround. He also poured concrete sidewalks and apron. He took great care around my landscaping and compacted the gravel and prepared everything prior to paving and pouring. This was a little over a year ago and it has not cracked or settled due to proper preparations. I have used Gabe O Hern on this and other properties and will continue to refer him

It went very well. They arrived on time (actually early) - they got here at 6:50 a.m., time told arriving was 7:00 a.m. that was very professional and I like that in a company, it shows their professionalism. They cleaned up everything and even took some rocks that we needed taken away so they could use them for future concrete. They work very well together and got the job done quickly but with great quality. They started in the morning about 7:00 a.m. and when I asked them how long the big job would take them Brian said until about 3:30 p m. he was correct right on the dot, now that is a professional!!!! I would highly recommend them for anybody who needs concrete work done, I have already given out JBS Construction's name out to a number of people and they have already called him for estimates. It is great to know a company that really cares about their quality of work! I also like it when a company can finish a big job in 1 day, we were back in our house in 24 hours, the concrete looks beautiful!!!! I will be calling JBS Construction in the future when I would need to get my driveway done

I was concerned that my fence would be in the way, or possibly get damaged during the work. The fence is fine, not a scratch. Bruce and his crew did a great job, they dug the area out by and on a Tuesday morning, and cleaning up everything when they were done. He returned a few days later to pour because the weather forecasts were calling for rain. They poured and finished the concrete in one morning, and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. We still need to deal with the fill and grass around the patio, but when that's done, it's going to look great. Bruce is a professional, and he has a great crew working for him. I would hire him again without hesitating
