The Amana furnace, though not my #1 choice during my initial search, was better priced than similar products by other manufacturers. The chimney liner (to be used in the near future for a water heater) was about 1/2 the price of one of Donovan's competitors. We also received a credit for the unused oil

We had three quotes for this work. Our oil tank was a big one, nearly twice the typical size. One guy said that we would need to knock down a wall to get the tank out. Another guy said it would have to be an entirely separate job with cutting torches, exhaust fans, and so on. Bill took a look at it and said, "Yeah, we can get that out of here no problem." and he did! No wall down, no cutting torch, just drained, cut up, and out. The owner, Bill is the core of the company. Comes off as an honest man and in my opinion is just that. He offered a lot of useful advice and insight on the job that gave us real confidence about hiring him. He was on-time and super clear about every step, especially stuff that makes a homeowner nervous, like watching someone drill a 2" hole into your lannon stone wall. The entire job was done to a T and exceeded out expectation. I'd hire him again and recommended Unified to anyone

I take reviewing companies very seriously and never want to give an unfair review. Holland provided us with a new furnace and air conditioner for $8000. They removed the old oil tank. I think the price may have been high, now that I have talked to other providers in the area. They had bid to install hook-ups for the oven, water heater, but when the guys came to do install they tried getting out of doing it, wanting to charge extra. Also they didn't realize that we needed an extra space on our electric panel and they had to eat putting in another panel. Which they did graciously. However when I holland electric gave us an overblown estimate for other electrical work that we eventually just had someone else do for 1/3rd the price. When I went to holland and showed them their high estimate for electric versus what we actually paid, their reasoning fell flat and was not based in facts, I think they were caught trying to over charge us had we gone with them. Thank God I called another electrician. Saved us big money and they did a great job

Afterwards, they saw my neighbor struggling to remove ice from the alley. They jumped right in helping to clear the alley down to bare pavement behind both our homes. It was a hard job and we are truly grateful for their help. These men are kind, honorable and very generous. I will hire them again as I seem to still have more junk to get rid of

1st Choice Heating & Cooling
1st choice was my 3rd quote for the project. I was sick of the price and hassle of heating oil. Wayne quoted me boiler made by Crown, not a household name (like Carrier, etc). That said, his quote was for about 40% less than the 'big' names, and a little research shows them to be a large, reputable manufacturer. Wayne was low key, low pressure, and knowledgeable. My favorite part was when he said: "If I miss something in my quote, it's my responsibility, not yours." More on that in a minute. I was not present for the install itself (gotta work to pay for the thing!), but my family reported little more than noise, understandable when ripping out an old boiler. When I called home for an update, I spoke with the installer, who gave me a friendly update and answered my questions. Later when I got home, I noticed little or no mess and great-looking new plumbing attaching my new boiler to the old feeds. My only gripe was with the removal of the old tank. The gauge on the tank read "E" for empty when he wrote the quote. But, there was apparently about 20 gal of oil left in the 275 gal tank, which was more than they could dispose of at the time, so they had to leave the tank and set up an appointment to get the remaining oil pumped out. Now, anyone who drives a car knows that "E" means "almost gone, but a little left". Bottom line is that I got charged an additional $100 to pump out about $100 worth of oil from my tank, before they could remove it. I guess that didn't fall under Wayne's claim of responsibility for 'missing' something during the quote process. Had that $100 been on the quote, I would not have flinched, but it wasn't. Bottom line is that I would use them again, despite that $100 frustration. Everything else about the experience was friendly and professional

Very Well. I have an oil furnace that I needed cleaned. THere are very few companies that work on oil furnaces. And my house is in Burlington Wisconsin, which is outside of most service providers catchment area. The other service providers were only able to put me on a wait list.Kettle Moraine was able to schedule the work within about 3 weeks. When they arrived, they discovered the furnace was not working because the oil tank was too low. But they did all the cleaning for their oil maintenance fee of $139.00. They will need to return once I fill up the oil tank (it has 150 gallons in it but requires more to bring it up to the input line) so that they are there to restart the furnance and make sure it is properly functioning. THere will be an extra fee but they will keep it as low as possible, assuming everything starts up as expected.They offered to hold my bill until the second visit. They called and left a very detailed message at my work number explaining the situation. My experience was very good and I would use them without hesitation in the future

They were very good, but it was the environmental people that came to get our oil tank and I wasn't really happy with it first. They contract this other company to take the oil tank out and to take the pipes off our basement wall. So, they did all that and they were very nice and after they left they told me they couldn't take the pipes off the wall because they were underground. So then I went outside to look when they had to dig and I had my basement broke down they cut them off but they didn't take them out; and then they just covered it with dirt and they didn't put caps on them. So I contacted Interstate and then they were suppose to comeback and fix that problem. I was really happy with interstate, they don’t have anything to do with their environmental people. Their price is comparable

Bought the junk removal special a couple of days ago. Everything went pretty well. They called to tell me they were about a half hour to an hour on the job they were on and then called me when they were on there way to my home. They told me I had more than the allotted amount, which I do not doubt. The said they could remove it all and gave me the same price as the special. They were polite and respectful. They worked hard and got it all out

We have had Heinrich's for 9 years to service our furnace and A/C. In the past, when the A/C line had a Freon leak, they serviced it and had to monitor it several times. They worked with the manufacturer to get charges covered, which took some doing on their part, so that it was a minimal cost to us. They have always been fair with us. Don't believe ads (radio advertising costs money which is passed on to the consumer) telling you "free A/C if you buy a furnace, etc." A small company like Heinrich's is able to keep costs low and provide personal service (because they depend on referrals). This time, I called at 9:30 a.m. and Matt (our technician) was there by noon. The diagnosis was a single pole contractor which had burned out and needed replacement. Matt explained that this would not have happened normally and gave me some reasons why it may have happened. I also had Matt perform annual servicing since he was there anyway. Loyalty and coupon discounts were applied and I thought the cost was very reasonable for the amount of time Matt was there working on the A/C (about 1 1/2 hours). We have needed to call at night and Heinrich's is always very quick with their response times. We will stay with them because they are so good

Randy walked me through everything to do to turn it off and stop the leaking. The guy who came out to install the new tank (forgot his name) was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. The installation at my house took Mark and his assistant the entire day to complete. They really seemed to know what they were doing, and the installation required a lot of labor extending new gas and water lines. Because local plumbing suppliers don't carry tankless in stock, delivery caused an extra day's delay before starting the job, which meant I was without hot water an extra day. But that was okay. Our scheduled times for meeting so that Mark could gather info. for the estimate and then for Mark and his assistant to do the work the day of installation were not met punctually -- an hour or more late in each instance. This should have bothered me since I had to be somewhere else early evening on the day of installation, but I just made the best of it. The point was to get the job done right

Bob and his sons arrived on time and went straight to work. They disengaged and emptied the pressure tank in the basement. When they could not remove the pump by hand, they did have to drive their truck into the backyard to use their winch. They did put down a couple layers of plywood to distribute the weight of the truck to protect my yard and patio. They also laid down a significant amount of plastic sheeting to protect my patio from all the pipes that were pulled out of the well. The pump was installed and tested several times. Despite the job taking a couple hours longer than expected, Bob actually came in lower than the quote. Now, 9 months later, the pump works wonderfully and we can cheerfully recommend these guys. They came in at 60-70% of the plumbing contractors in the Brookfield area who charge premium rates and did a great job. I would strongly recommend these guys all day long

But the guys were real troopers about it and just took A LOT of trips up the stairs with buckets full of oil. They put down tarps so they didn't get any oil on the stairs or foyer floor. They did spill a little oil in the driveway and down in the basement next to the tank, but I think that was really unavoidable. They put down kitty litter to soak it up. They stuck with their original estimate even though there was a lot more oil to take out than originally thought. Very hard working and reputable
