SASHA'S PAINTING SERVICE
This was a mixed experience. Sasha started the job early, a blessing because we were working against the change in seasons. His crew worked hard, and Sasha had high quality standards. A couple of times Sasha expected me to leave work and drive an hour to the job site to answer questions about the job. He's a demanding person, and not very easy to work with. I was very pleased with the work on the trim, but we had problems with the deck and the window caulking. I wanted the wood on the deck prepped properly and a translucent stain applied. He said it wasn't in the contract to power wash the deck (cedar which had weathered grey). He tried to apply the stain without cleaning the wood, which I stopped after 15 minutes because it was clearly not working. It made the grey wood look green. He only caulked the few storm windows and left me with an incomplete job. This may have been an honest misunderstanding, but he did not make it right even though I agreed to pay for the additional work

PAINTERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY. OVERALL, PAINTED AREAS LOOK VERY NICE. HOWEVER, SOMETIMES THE PAINTERS WERE A LITTLE SLOPPY WITH GETTING ONE COLOR OF PAINT (I.E. THE TRIM) ON ANOTHER COLOR OF PAINT (I.E. THE PAINTED EXTERIOR). THIS IS UNDERSTANDABLE, HOWEVER THE PAINTERS SHOULD REVIEW THEIR WORK WHEN DONE AND FIX/TOUCH-UP ANY MISTAKES WITHOUT THE HOME OWNER HAVING TO REVIEW THE WORK. THIS IS A SMALL ISSUE THAT'S VERY CORRECTABLE. ALSO, NOTE THE PRICE ONLY INCLUDED ONE COAT OF PAINT. IF YOU'RE HAVING A DARKER COLOR OF PAINT COVERED, TWO COATS WILL BE NEEDED

There were some delays in starting the job due to weather and scheduling. When they started they completed the whole job in about 5 days. They were very responsive to our requirements, and did a great job quickly. They removed shutters and downspouts and lights to paint under them, and replaced them correctly when done. There was very little over spray on our shrubbery, and no serious damage to any of our plantings. The crew was friendly and courteous. Over all we were extremely happy with the job, and would be happy to recommend them to others or hire them again for another job

Right from day 1 to closure, Jarred was transparent and very effective in communication. He came in to suggest the services, options and the process well before the actual painting work would begin. I got the overall cost estimate as soon as he was done surveying the home. When I went to choose paint colors, felt really good about the excellent feedback from the dealer representatives. As the schedule came closer, he visited again to explain the process step by step and asked if I felt comfortable. On the day of work, his people came sharp at 7:00 and began work. All work was completed as per expectations and they turned out to be excellent. We are really happy about the way this whole thing worked and are extremely pleased with Jarred and his team. Jarred didn't take any advance payment and was comfortable settling at the end. He is a fair business man and I really like his work ethics

TEAM OF 3 ARRIVED AT OR NEAR 8 AM, WORKED EFFICIENTLY AND ASKED FOR INPUT ON DETAILS AS NEEDED. THE SUPERVISOR DID A GOOD JOB OF SELECTING A TYPE OF PAINT FOR THE SHUTTERS THAT MADE THEM LOOK GOOD WHILE AT THE SAME TIME NOT MAKING THE OLD SIDING LOOK WORN BY CONTRAST. I DIDN'T THOROUGHLY EXAMINE ALL THE WINDOWS BEFORE THE JOB WAS COMPLETE AND LATER NOTED THAT SOME PAINT STROKES HAD LAPPED ONTO THE GLASS PANES ON SOME WINDOWS. THEY HAD STATED THEY WERE WILLING TO COME BACK IF I NOTICED SPOTS WHERE TOUCH UP NEEDED TO BE DONE. BUT SINCE THE WINDOW WASHERS SCRAPED OFF THE PAINT A COUPLE DAYS LATER, I DIDN'T CALL THEM BACK. ALSO, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT TYPES OF PAINT AND DIDN'T CONSIDER THE MATTER UNTIL THE SUPERVISOR ASKED ME ON THE FIRST MORNING WHAT KIND OF PAINT I WANTED. I HAD NO IDEA. MAYBE GETTING THE QUESTION BEFORE THAT DAY WOULD HAVE BEEN USEFUL. NEVERTHELESS, THE SUPERVISOR GAVE ME SUFFICIENT INPUT AT THAT POINT FOR ME TO MAKE A DECISION THAT I'M HAPPY WITH

The work started out good, but it didn't finish off well. We got a quote for the entire job and everything was broken down as to what was to be completed. Their punctuality wasn't very good. They were finishing up the job and shutters weren't painted. They didn't think that it was on the quote, but it was on the quote. They were going to leave without doing the shutters. It was miscommunication I guess, but I didn't think that it was handled very well. I wouldn't use their services in the future

Came and provided an estimate for the work in early April. He called a few weeks later to schedule the work but had to postpone due to rain. He called back a couple weeks later when weather cleared. He and another worker arrived promptly just before 8:00 the first day and we went over the items to be done in addition to a couple of additional tasks I requested that weren't in the original estimate. He gave me a fair cost estimate for the additional items and went right to work. When I asked how he could wash the 2nd floor windows which had storms and screens that prevented access to the window panes, he informed me that the windows could be removed from inside. When I arrived home from work around 4:30, they were gone for the day and I found the site cleaned up well with the exception of some minor chips of paint. The second morning they arrived just after 8:00. I was home all day and was able to observe them using drop clothes to catch paint chips and drips as they worked. I also noticed that they had removed one set of shutters so the outside edge of the window frame could be painted. They seemed very thorough. As we removed each set of 2nd floor windows, I noticed that some of the glazing was brittle or missing and asked Matt for a quote to recaulk each window as needed. Again, the charge seemed fair so I had him perform that task. I also noticed some over paint on a couple windows and Matt assured me that would be cleaned up. I was really impressed by how they worked diligently with little idle time and just a half hour for lunch. Once everything was done and they were packing up, I did a final walk around the house to inspect the work. I found a couple of spots that needed caulking (which Matt promptly did) but it appeared that everything else was completed and nicely cleaned up. They completed everything in 2 days and I was very pleased. My house hasn't looked so nice in a looooooong time. :-) I would definitely hire them again
