We were very pleased with Curt's quick response to our call and the scheduling of our work for the next week. His crew were hard workers and did a great job. They treated our yard as if it were their own. They did more than the contract called for, were punctual and very personable. They cleaned up thoroughly every day and at the end of the job. They were all great to work with

Our experience consisted of both good and bad. The Good: We interviewed several contractors, and Bryan, by far, best understood what we wanted, and provided us with a detailed concept that matched our needs within our general price range. Bryan is very personable, provided excellent ideas regarding stone types and design concepts, and was willing to work with us to tweak the design to our liking. His company started the construction the week that he originally anticipated. He was responsive to several small issues/repairs that were needed to the work during the initial construction process. The overall patio was done well and turned out beautifully. The Bad: During the interview process, we stressed how important our landscaping was to us. To put things in perspective, we have over 600 different perennial flowers in multiple gardens spread throughout our yard. We specifically asked about how they were going to protect the lawn between the driveway and the back yard, where the patio was to be installed. Our understanding of that conversation was that they would lay plywood down to protect the lawn from the construction equipment and general construction area. The crew arrived while we were at work, and laid two pieces of plywood down to protect the edge of the driveway. The short story is that our yard looked like they held a monster truck rally in it for a week, destroying the grass in roughly two-thirds of our back yard and one side yard. When we finally agreed how this was to be repaired (excavation of compacted and rutted areas, depth of soil, etc.) we found out, because we came home before they were finished with the repair, that they did not excavate the compacted and rutted areas as agreed, and only spread soil across the top of the damage. I protested, and I believe that they repaired the yard as I requested the next day, based on several stakes that they put in the yard showing the excavated depth. Although Bryan said that he did not charge for the repair labor because of the misunderstanding of the requested lawn protection, the lawn repair cost us an additional $1,000. The other bad part of this was that the dirt that they brought in had an unusually large amount of stones and weeds. I spent many, many hours during the rest of the summer continuously removing these. Also, because the dirt settled, and the seed did not come in evenly, near the end of the summer I ended up bringing in my own dirt, spreading and leveling it across the entire repaired area, and then over-seeding. We also had issues with the water feature losing water (far beyond evaporation or spray). I did multiple controlled experiments, and found that the water feature would lose about 15 gallons every couple of days. It took two and a half months and multiple communications and visits by their subcontractor to finally get it and quot;betterand quot;. I still think that it can be improved, and will work on it myself in the spring

He did a really good job and was very prompt, professional and efficient. He recommended some spring landscaping tasks so I will hire him again in the spring. He also winterized my outside water feature in my pond.

Staff were generally personable and courteous, but disorganized and often late. The electrician who installed the outlet put it in front of the area that the fountain was supposed to go, so there is a junction box sticking up at the edge of the patio. He refused to move it when requested. Three young men did most of the preparatory work for the patio. During my initial discussions with the contractor, I was clear on several points: the patio should drain into the side gardens, the soil should prepared for the plantings(remove impacted clay soil and replace with dirt that I provided), and all the old soil that was excavated was to be removed from the property. The contractor was also to deliver all materials for the patio. Later however, the contractor said he didn't have the cash, and asked me to order the patio blocks and pay to have them delivered. He ordered more than twice as many blocks as were needed, which had to be returned. He also had issues with removing the excavated clay soil. He piled some of it against the neighbors house, where the shrubs were to go. When it came time to settle, he wanted to charge extra for removing it. The plan was changed several times(I had to do my own drawing)and when it was time to lay the blocks, it became clear that the contractor had not figured out in advance how they would be laid out. The blocks were not set close enough together, and there is a big gap between the sidewalk and the patio(1/2 inch). I was told they could not dig a trench for the shrubs, but that they would dig an adequate sized hole for each one. Except for three large plants, the shrubs were supposed to be 2 feet apart, but were planted closer(14"). If the holes had been dug according to the planting instructions that came with them, they would have had a trench by default. Immediately after the shrubs were planted, I found that when I watered them, instead of soaking into the ground, the water poured off the top and pooled onto the patio. Before the contractor completed the job, I let him know of my concern that the ground had not been properly prepared and the shrubs would not have proper drainage to survive. He did not take any action. Within a couple of weeks, the shrubs started turning brown. In addition, I found that water pools on the patio. A brief inspection revealed impacted clay soil surrounding the shrubs. I emailed the contractor to express my concern. He responded on the phone, and said it was "normal" for them to do that, and did not offer to check out the situation

Excellent excellent excellent. Jamon and Greg Peterson treated this project like it was for their own home. They listened to our needs for creating an outside living space that would compliment a new additiona that we put on last year. The yard was a mess from the prior contractor and the landscaping needed to be updated. Our goal was a seamless experience between our new garden room and the yard. Extreme Exteriors brought in a landscape architech who understood our vision and drew the plans. Jamon and his dad then began the project in June of 2011. I have dealt with many contractors but none as customer focused as Extreme Exteriors. They knew better than I did what I wanted. Their quality and attention to detail is phenominal. They always left the work space in spotless condition. My friends and family are blown away by our new outdoor room. It is truly our get away - our most favorite place to be. I can not say enough good things about Extreme Exteriors except that they deliver Extreme Happiness!!

The overall experience was great. The landscape team of Sean, Katee and Martine communicated every step of the way. They were professional and reliable. We never experienced any problems from the first day of planning and during the three week project. They used top quality materials and the work was done by true craftsmen who took pride in their work. Very respectful and they kept the work site clean after each day of work

Integrity was exceptionally easy to work with and very professional. I had contacted two other landscapers prior to calling Integrity and was not pleased with either. My first meeting with Integrity was with the owner. I told him my vision and it was like he was in my head. I wanted more of an old fashion, vintage vibe. A plan was created that was perfect. Although Integrity provided the highest bid my initial experience was so positive I opted to have them do the project. The crew arrived on time with the owner. I was very impressed that the owner spoke Spanish to his mostly hispanic crew, making sure there was clear communication about the project. I was included in the process, reviewing work at various stages and providing input regarding location of plants, fountains and decorative rock. Everyone was so friendly and professional. The job was completed in less than 1 day. Also of note, the lawn was protected with ply wood for moving equipment. The site was cleaned and looked great when the crew left. I have waited to write review because I wanted to wait until the end of the season to make sure I was completely satisfied. There was one hiccup, but it was minor and Integrity resolved the issue rapidly and beyond my expectation. From a cost perspective I was able to use the Angie's List discount offered by integrity. That was a nice perk, but note cash payment is expected. There is a fee for using a credit card. Overall Integrity is a class act. I am very pleased with my experience with them and would recommend them to anyone with confidence. I get so many compliments on my yard. The landscaping was a great enhancement to an already great condo. I love my outdoor space

.Tom Auer did an outstanding job for us. He and his crew started the project earlier than expected, which was a real plus for us. They began in April and finished in May. Tom's enthusiasm and creativity made this project an adventure for us. He was open to any suggestions we had, which resulted in our collaborating to create a one-of-a kind water feature. Originally we were just going to go with a ready made feature. When we didn't find anything that excited us, Tom showed up one day with an interesting slab of stone he had found and talked with us about how he might fashion an interesting water feature with it. He stood it in the ground at the end of the day; it rained that night and the stone fell and broke. We decided to go to a stone yard and look at granite remnants and presented that idea to Tom. He was more than willing to go to the stone yard and look at what we selected. From there, his creativity took off and he talked about using corten steel as a frame. The rest is history...a really unique water feature that we can enjoy on the patio, or just by looking out the sliding glass doors of the family room. If we leave the doors open, we can hear the water through the screens. Tom had an idea for flooring on our upstairs deck, which is a future project. We are very pleased with how it went from start to finish

Dean was extremely professional in all aspects of his work. He kept his appointment times. He gave us a detailed proposal spelling out exactly what he would do. His crew were friendly and professional. They protected our patio with plywood before bringing in tons of rock. They treated the work as if they were doing it for themselves, taking great care and pride in making it look good and being structurally sound. They used quality materials. They asked us for input along the way, making sure it was exactly what we wanted. They finished the work sooner than expected and did a thorough job of cleaning up afterwards. They came back several times to make sure everything was working properly, e.g. there weren't any water leaks and the pump was operating properly. And, they gave us thorough instructions in how to maintain the system, e.g. how to shut it down over the winter, how to control and kill algae, how to keep the water clear, how to change the filters

Scott was professional and pleasant to work with. He was very understanding and patient with all my questions and concerns. The project started in January 2009 and extended thru May 2009 which was a bit longer than we expected but there were some unforeseen staffing and product delivery issues along the way. We were patient with these issues as we would rather have the project done correctly than quickly and we definitely received a quality product. My only complaint is that I had hoped to maintain a relationship with the Company and have them continue maintenance and redo our front yard but when a drainage issue came to light I contacted Scott by email and never heard back from him

.My goal was to turn my small back yard into a beautifully landscaped sanctuary I can also share with family and friends. I now have exactly that. It all began when Dave and Steve came to meet with me to discuss my project. They listened to my needs and offered great suggestions and options. They understood my vision and made it theirs. I received a detailed proposal from them in a timely manner. Contacts followed from them as well as Angie in their office as the project took shape. Work began and was finished as scheduled. The workers were competent and professional as they completed the job. Cleanup was ongoing and thorough The result is a beautifully landscaped yard that will provide me with endless hours of pleasure and opportunities for entertaining. I love it! Everyone who has seen it loves it! My experience with Integrity from start to finish is one of the best I have ever had with a contractor. I would highly recommend them to others and would use them again

By way of establishing our 'street cred' as reviewers, we have done a lot of DIY remodeling of older properties, as well as DIY landscaping (including retaining walls and patios) over our 40+ years of marriage, and also had a home built in the late 1980's - so we are well-versed in the 'typical' building and landscaping experience. We also understand that unpredictable stuff will inevitably come up in the course of a project like this. Our project ended up being more extensive than we originally planned. Some of that was because of the unpredictable stuff, but the majority was our conscious decision to move from just fixing what had to be fixed to doing a true home improvement project. Summary of what we did: removed the wooden boardwalk over Erosion Ground Zero which ran from the house about halfway to the detached garage at the front of the property; installed a stabilization grid and drainage system across the front yard (lots of mesh, pipes, sand, stone, carefully calibrated to control and disperse the flow of water to minimize future erosion & puddles) between driveway and new retaining wall along the top of the ravine; replaced the old boardwalk with a heavy load-bearing framework extending from the house all the way to the garage, topped by a brick paver sidewalk with a temperature/moisture sensor heating element under the middle portion, part of the driveway and up the steps to the front door; capped the entry steps with stone to match the existing porch wall & the rest of the entry porch with pavers matching the walkway; replaced original pebble path leading to the backyard with brick pavers & extended it around to the front of the house and all the way to the stone patio loverlooking the lake, which was also repaved with the same brick pavers; replaced about 80% of the existing plants, trees, bushes and lawn in both the front and back yards; enhancement of electrical service from 200 to 400 amp to power the heaters & future electric car charging; replacement of the driveway Part 1 (Part 2, final asphalt coat, will occur in the Spring), new lighting around the entire property, and lastly - re-installing and expanding the original front-yard water feature from the 1920's. In addition to replacing the garage roof, we also decided to expand it to 3 car - a new project that will commence shortly. We cannot say enough good things about James himself as the quarterback of the project over all, and his hard-working, talented Landscape Master crew, and the vendors he chose to partner with. This was truly a mega-complicated undertaking. Everyone involved was top-notch and James orchestrated everything and everybody (including the management of utility & building code politics) exceptionally well, in constant communication and partnership with us. He brought forward creative and innovative ideas for our consideration, and truly listened to and incorporated our input as well. The crew was here every day when the sun came up and worked till the sun went down until the project was completed, with great teamwork and pride in workmanship. Despite the significant expansion of the scope of the project during its course, and at least a week of lost work days because of rain, the portion of work that was to be completed this year finished up only 3 weeks after the original (smaller project) date. We are very happy with the end-result both esthetically and functionally. Our nickname for the project in the midst of it was "YardApocalypse'. On the day that all the equipment was moved out, we hosted a lunch (homemade soup and tenderloin sandwiches) for all the major players involved in the work to celebrate 'YardRebirth', and posed all together for a picture standing behind the lovely rock stream that is now the focal point of the front yard landscape
Entire job finished between Friday afternoon and Sunday at 2 pm. Covered all track marks in the lawn (from pulling shrubs with vehicle) with top soil to re-level the lawn. Replaced brick trim around former shrubs beds and filled with mulch everything is ready for spring planting. Once she was there working, she was flexible with adding minor steps to the project. The estimate didn't originally cover the removal of the two small tree stumps or the front bushes but she added that in as we went

I would highly recommend Ground Affects Landscaping. Of all the bids we received Ground Affects had the best plan at the best price. In the planning stages Tom made several trips out to our house to meet and discuss the plan. I really liked that he managed to keep a beautiful bush that we had on the corner of our house and because our steps were in good shape he kept them as well but covered them so that the whole area flowed together. Tom took the time to meet with us to ensure we had exactly the stone and color scheme that we wanted. We spent a whole evening at Ground Affects picking out the stone and laying out the pattern we wanted. Bill was our foreman and I can't say enough good things about him and the entire Ground Affects team. Very accommodating and listened to our concerns and were very hard workers. Always on time and cleaned up the yard and driveway before leaving each evening. Always extremely polite never asked anything of us while they were at the house and finished the job on time. Love the satellite timing system for the lights. The lights come on automatically at dusk every evening and turn off at the designated time. Each column and step has its own lights and it is beautiful. I've recommended the Ground Affects team to friends and family and I will continue to recommend them. I plan to bring them back in the future to update the backyard
