Milwaukee Storm Shelter Installation

I called Andy Zahn to obtain information if he would remove the old storm door and install a new storm door. He said it could be done. I purchased a door from a home improvement store. I was not in a hurry to have the door installed. 6 days after I talked to Andy he called and said he had a opening could he install the new door. I said ok. Andy picked up the door at the home improvement store. Andy did the job in about 2 hours. It was done to my satisfaction.

Doorbell was placed such that the storm door couldn't close over the switch. It works, but had to have a friend move the doorbell so I could close the storm door!

In a word, FANTASTIC! Dan came out to inspect and then provided estimates. Once the down payment was made, the jobs were scheduled. Dan arrived when specified with truck and tools. He explained his concerns along the way and installed as desired. As the name indicates, we received quality craftsmanship! After this install was completed, and we need more work done, our first and most likely only call will be to Dane's Quality Craftsmanship, LLC!

THIS COMPANY WAS VERY PROMPT IN RESPONDING AND INSTALLING OUR NEW STORM DOORS. THE INSTALLER WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID AN EXEMPLARY JOB. WE WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN, AND NO DOUBT WE WILL.

He arrived at the precise time he said (a rarity now). I can't believe how quickly he installed the doors. They look great. Extremely professional and very nice. Already hired him for another job.

The glass on the existing storm door was broken by a stone. Because the door had metal guards on the bottom portion that could not be removed, we needed to replace the door plus door guards. I contacted Todd's Carpentry and was very happy with his responsiveness and professionalism. I obtained the door from a big box hardware store, and for a small extra charge Todd picked it up for us. He arrived on time for our appointment with the door. He installed it very well and removed the old door. He even installed the two new door guards after the door was installed. I felt the installation and pickup charge was very reasonable and am happy with the completed job.

NEAT CAREFUL PLEASANT WORKER. DOOR WAS INSTALLED WITH NO PROBLEMS. LOOKS GREAT. PROMPT AT RETURNING PHONE CALLS TO GET JOB SET UP. FLEXED AROUND OUR SCHEDULE TO GET THE JOB DONE. WOULD USE FOR BIGGER JOB NEXT TIME.

To say I’m deeply disappointed with the overall outcome of my experience and services provided would be an understatement. Dan came to see the spot where we needed a storm door in order to assess the scope of work and provide a quote. His wife provided a quote via email. Dying our meeting he discussed weatherstripping with copper and hanging a storm door for our half round front door. We were asked to pay half before the job was completed. On the day of instal dan had asked where all the hinges and other hardware were. When I let him know that I had asked his wife via email the week before our scheduled instal who was responsible for hardware and she noted that dan world being everything, he ignored it and acted very annoyed. I asked what hardware my husband should pick up and he told us which local store to go to and to ask for a specific employee who would know what hinges to give us. Dan then hung the storm door and installed the hardware but the hinges were the wrong ones as they didn’t clear the awning built in to our house. Dan then attempted to hack away at a portion of it with no success of getting the door to open. He told us “it’s unfortunate” but that we can figure out what type of hinges we need for this specific scenario, order them, and then he can come back for an hourly rate of $80 to install it all. That night his wife emailed me the invoice for the job…. Of the entire scope of work that was quoted dan installed flexible rubber weatherstripping and I was being billed over $1,000 for it. Hilarious. I let his wife know that I’m not willing to pay on a job not completed. This changed the tune of Dan’s approach. Suddenly he called saying he wants to make it right. When I let him know that I can’t open the front door with one hand as the weatherstripping is too tight he made a remark about differences of strength between men and women. He ended up picking up a pair and a half of hinges he should have gotten in the first place and installed them, knowing we would be having the door painted. Upon the door being painted, it no longer closed. We had another handy man look at it and he removed the middle hinge as Dan had installed it backwards. The whole experience was absolutely awful. I would never recommend Dan to anyone.

Dan was a pleasure to work with. Very professional and personable. Dan was on time on the day of service. Very focused on getting the job done. He exceeded my expectations in the repair of the rotted storm window frames. His ability saved me a tremendous amount of money to replace all the storm windows on the house. The payment process is electronic and secure. I will definitely utilize Dane's Quality Craftmanship LLC again.

The contractor who had promised to install our storm door and square the existing door of our old house failed to show once to may times. Pulled First Class from Yelp. He came by and estimated the price and then later telephoned to say he would square the door a different way for less. Agreed to the new price, he showed up about 15 minutes earlier than promised and went to work with his assistant. They worked steadily , about 4 hours, until the existing main door was hung squarely, and the new storm door was hung and operating properly. They very carefully caulked the replacement brick mold. I am disappointed that somehow they managed to scar the finish of the new door in getting it mounted, but the damage is not significant, just irritating.
