Reviews for Shower Drain Installation in Milwaukee

Castleman & Sons Plumbing Inc
5.0
Justin Castleman is a very knowledgeable and professional plumber. He is willing to help diagnose issues over the phone if you feel like you're handy enough to do some things yourself but want to have a professional opinion before you get in over your head. In my case the ceiling below my upstairs bathroom shower got saturated and fell down so I knew I had an issue with my shower above. Using Angie's list, I found Justin's business and saw he had good ratings so I called him and he gave me some things to try to determine where the leak was coming from. I was able to determine it was coming from the shower's drain flange so I scheduled a time for Justin to come by which was within 2 days. At the time I scheduled this little did I know that I'd be losing my job the next day so income was now non existent. My shower was leaking, however, and I needed to get it fixed but now I needed it done on the cheap rather than paying for the full job as I was planning on. Justin arrived at the scheduled time and I told him about my situation and he understood and was willing to work with me to make sure I got my shower drain fixed but not "break the bank" in the process. He told me some things I could do to save some cost and suggested I go to one of the "big box" stores to get the supplies we needed in order to save some money. I got the supplies, did some demo work and Justin installed all the parts with a little help from me and everything worked out great. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome or for a better plumber to work with. Take my advice and call Justin if you need any type of plumbing work done...you won't be disappointed.

Jim was responsive and arrived same day (within 3 hours) of my request. Cleared and did the job swiftly & completely. Though he barely made any mess while doing the work, he cleaned up everything and there was no evidence he was even here - except for the fact that my shower drain was now 100% cleared of any blockage and draining perfectly!

Opening sewer drain took much longer than it should have, building hourly charges. Snaking shower drain broke the drainpipe which he didn't notice. Before he left, though, he went into my wife's closet to get at our cleaning supplies, without asking first, which he used to clean up the shower. We found this to be a significant invasion of privacy. By the time we noticed the leak a wall in our utility room (directly below) was flooded and we had significant water on the floor. I fixed the drainpipe myself and then asked them to return to snake the pipe (it was still very slow), which they did.

Rozga Plumbing did a great job. They actually called to ask if they could come early (impressive)! They showed up 15 minutes early and took care of the plugged shower drain quickly and professionally. Very positive experience - would use them again for any other plumbing needs.

John was very thorough in explaining what was happening. He was able to stop the leak by replacing some of the fittings, and also showed me what to do to prevent it from happening in the future. I will definitely be calling him again for all of my plumbing needs.

Friendly customer service on the phone. Immediately set up a service call-- within 3 days (and one was a holiday). The service tech was suppose to come over between noon and 2 pm and he called to say he had finished a previous call sooner than anticipated and asked if he could come over earlier--which was great! Very nice tech-diagnosed the problems quickly and had them fixed quickly. This was our first experience with Rozga and we would definitely use them again.

The plumber arrived about 10:00 a.m., gave me an estimate (in which he warned me that the faucet install, which I thought was the easy project, was actually going to be the most difficult because of the small size of the sink), and began work promptly. As he said, he did have to remove the sink from the wall, which doubled the price of the faucet install. He tried to snake the drain, but was unable to because of the drum trap (which had I tried to tell him about earlier by clearing out and showing him the access hatch, but he didn't look). He told me he didn't expect to have to deal with that, so this doubled the cost of THIS part of the job. He ran into a lot of unexpected problems replacing the drum trap (the floor joists were inconveniently located), but eventually got it done, then snaked the drain. He had to cut an additional hole in the kitchen ceiling to get this done, which got drywall and plaster dust all over everything. My wife came home in the midst of all the mess, and was very unhappy about it, so I told her to walk the dog while I cleaned it all up. The plumber helped me wipe up most of the mess, but he still had two more jobs to do that day (it was 5:00 p.m. by this time), so he left and my wife and I spent the rest of the evening cleaning up (he had left a lot of foot prints leading from the kitchen to the upstairs bath and back). My wife also discovered that, when he replaced the sink, he didn't place it at the right height on the wall, so the pedestal beneath it is loose and "clanks" whenever we use it. I haven't called yet to ask him to come back to fix it. The shower drain doesn't leak into the kitchen anymore, however, which is good.

ANDERSEN PLUMBING INC
1.0
Andersen Plumbing was hiired for a tiny part of a water/mold damage issue that resulted in all our tiling, walls and flooring in our master bathroom to be removed and replaced. The contractor told me the $385 charge was actually the minimum charge for Andersen to come out twice and doing the work in less than an hour each time. We were out of town for six weeks while the work was done, so we never met with Andersen Plumbing directly, but had confidence in our general contractor to pick trustworthy, competent subs. Andersen Plumbing was the exception. The work they were hired to do was done sloppily. Our shower controls no longer point straight up and down for on and off, instead they are off kilter, with no rhyme or reason for the angles they are set at. Nothing leaks, but the finished work does not look professional. (see photo) Now for the work they were NOT hired to do: TRESPASSING AND MARKETING for Andersen Plumbing. We found huge ( 8" by 5") stickers on all our plumbing appliances in the basement (water heater, softener, etc). They also entered my kitchen, went under my sink, and slapped one of the obnoxious stickers on my garbage disposal! (see photo) Not only did they place their stickers everywhere, but they also REMOVED the stickers from our regular plumbers with whom we have service contracts, and active warranties left. When we found these stickers we were angry to think someone had the nerve to do this, and later became even more upset wondering where else this person may have trespassed in our home, "just to look around". Where did he draw the line?? We will never know. I called our contractor to let him know about this, and he was very apologetic, and said this had never happened before. He said he knew the owner of Andersen Plumbing personally, and would call him to discuss this. That was in November 2012. To date we have not heard from Andersen Plumbing either with an apology or an offer to return and fix the shower controls. At this point my husband does not want them in our home again.

Recent Review: I called Joe first for a drain clog issue that affected my toilet, sink and shower drains. He said he would check his schedule and let me know if you could come out the next day. He was unable to do so and made sure that he called after he left a voicemail to let me know he was very professional and I know would have helped if you could fit it in. If I had plumbing issues in the future I would again call him first even though he did not do any work for me this time. Very impressed with his responsiveness.
