Aquatica had previously installed a water garden in our back yard 10+ years ago, but recent activity by local heron population had been decimating my Koi population. We contacted Dean Pepito in the spring and arranged to have the pond re-dug to a deeper depth and expanded with a second waterfall, with fish caves in which the Koi could hide when the heron came to visit. Actual work started with the crew removing all of my aquatic plants and putting them in a stock tank to hold while work was performed, then they drained the pond and took it apart stone by stone, all by hand. They removed the original liner and dug (again by hand) in our lovely clay soil, about 18' deeper, re-contouring the pond, and adding a second waterfall, with all of its related equipment. They relined the pond, replaced all the old stone (which had been power washed) as well as added several tons of new stones both within the pond and in the landscaping nearby. They replanted the pond and refilled it, added starter chemicals, and mulched around the outer perimeter to reintegrate it in my existing landscape. They also installed some additional external lighting to highlight the new feature. The job took about a week to complete, with three or more workers at the house every day. This was during the 100 degree weather we had this summer and the crew worked really hard, cheerfully and without complaint. They were amazing, and had an unparalleled eye for design and artistic stone placement. Every night when they left, they took pains to sweep up the dirt and dust from the patio so the back yard would look presentable. While they may not have offered the lowest price to perform this work, they certainly offered the best value, expertise, and concern for customer satisfaction. Aquatica is by far the best choice for any back yard pond project.

Poolside recently installed a beautiful new liner in our in-ground pool. Poolside's crew arrived Friday night to begin draining the pool. Saturday morning, they arrived early to remove the old liner and prepare the pool for the new one. Once the old liner was removed, they prepared the pool surface and installed the beautiful new liner. When the water trucks arrived, they carefully installed the pool fixtures and the result is beautiful!! The entire process from start to finish took over 6 hours. The Poolside crew was super friendly and professional. They answered all our questions and kept us informed of each step in the process. We will continue to use Poolside for all our pool and spa needs and we highly recommend them for any pool or spa service.

Do ask Jason to measure your pool before ordering the liner. We bought the house with the pool and didn't know the exact size. On the day of installation, he measured and realized we had an odd size 28 foot pool that required a special order liner. This extended the time another couple of weeks. Jason and his team did a fantastic job installing the new liner, putting the pool back together and re-connecting the skimmer and return line. He was responsive to my many inquiries in a timely manner and charged me the agreed upon price.

Penguin Pools

I reached out to Penguin Pools as I need our liner replaced. I was sent a quote with a contract to be sent back along with 60% of the quoted price and 3 liner design choices as materials were going in and out of stock almost daily. I signed the contract, sent a check for almost $4,000 as well as 3 liner choices on 5/12. I received an email that my pool would be opened the week of the 24th and the tech would be measuring the liner at that time to order the new one. I reached out to find out if I was able to find the exact date as I did not want to leave my gate unlocked for a week and I was told they would notify me a day prior to their arrival. Thursday the 27th late afternoon I reached out as I had not heard back and received an email the morning of the 28th stating that due to staff shortages and weather (weather had not been bad) they were behind but were hoping for Friday or Saturday. I expressed my concern was more about getting the liner measured and ordered and they assured me it would be measured at time of opening and they would be there that day. The tech did in fact show up and was very pleasant but advised me that he was unable to measure due to the pool not being clear. I would think when they scheduled this, they should be aware that pools are not clean at opening after being closed all winter. In years past, when I've had my pool opened, the tech brushes down the liner and hot tub, chlorine is in the tube, the skimmer is set correctly, the overflow spa is correctly operating. None of these things occurred on top of the liner not being measured. I reached out on June 1st with my concerns and was told the pool needs to be clear to measure. Although that is all logical to me, why was it not scheduled differently as they should know this if they are in the pool business. I was advised to send pictures and they would get me scheduled. I immediately sent photos and requested to be scheduled asap to get the liner ordered as it is a month wait for the liner and materials are what they are. I expressed I was concerned about the install due to the misinformation up to this point and have yet to hear back. I emailed them in the morning 6/4/21 requesting to just have my money refunded minus the pool opening since they could not have the courtesy to respond to my concerns or schedule the lining measurement, still no response. It appears once they have your money, they do not feel the need to do much beyond the minimal. I can understand if they are short staffed or busy but how hard is it to reply to an email? If I received an email, even if late in the evening I could respect that but nothing. Unfortunate that a company doesn't care about their customers. I will be contacting my attorney to get my money back and work with a company that values their customers. Very frustrated to say the least.

Did a great job - He had to come back because we thought the liner had torn so he drove back down on Labor Day weekend. Turns out something had blown into the pond and was stuck! After a few beers it was a good laugh! We plan on having him quote on our basement remodel in the Spring.

David was a great person to work with. I told him my budget and what I wanted and he worked with me. Other pond companies tend to want to charge you for little extras or try to talk you into something you don't need or won't even bother with you if you don't do it their way. David Thomas kept it real, stuck to my budget (unless I wanted to add something) and did not try to talk me into anything I didn't need. In fact, he talked me out of a couple things, which I respect his honesty.

AMERICAN LEAK DETECTION - MILWAUKEE
5.0
I had hired another pool company earlier in the summer, they did not find a liner leak and blamed it on a broken pipe. They said they didn't have the equipment to locate exactly where the pipe was leaking and suggested I call AmericanLeak Detection who would be able to pin-point the leak. I put plugs in the pipes and when the pool continued to leak I did some of my own testing and was very confident the first company was wrong and the liner was leaking not a pipe. When I called American it was late in the season. They came out within a few days and quickly located and patched the liner leak. They also tested to make sure the pipes were not leaking, they were not. Mike came across as very knowledgable and professional. I wish I had called him first and not the other company. If I ever have another leak I will use him again.

BONECKS returned my call promptly, and although they were not in a position to provide the services I was looking for, they offered unsolicited recommendations of competitors who could.

Recent Review: Simply put, Awesome! I have no doubt our new roof is more than capable of lasting decades without issue and the gutters will no longer be a source of worry. The landscaping has transformed our home. We have a natural, inviting area that can now be used by our family. Big Fish wasn't the cheapest quote we received but after talking with them and then hiring them for the work, my wife and I couldn't be happier with our selection. When it comes to roofing, it's not just the materials selected but how they are put on the roof. A quality install is the most important aspect to a new roof.
