Steve poured my driveway in early May. The city notified me in June that he never pulled a permit and did not follow city standards. When notified of this issue he vanished and has not made correct on the work he was paid for.

DUQUAINE CONCRETE & MASONRY
5.0
I had four other contractors come and bid the job and DuQuaine came in with the most reasonable cost for the same work. They were local and were very responsive (I got the detailed proposal emailed to me within two days after Ed came out to look at the job) and seemed to know what they were talking about when they met with our general contractor. After some delays on our part and some delays on their part (due to weather and workload), we were put on the schedule and the crew came out and poured the footings for the garage. Luckily, our general contractor was there because they said the retaining wall that we had discussed with Ed was not on the job order. They poured the footings for it after I signed off on an additional PO for the work and materials and then came back and poured the walls. The crew seemed young and energetic (a little rough around the edges with language and attire) and worked hard to get everything done in a timely manner--to avoid incoming rain. Again, the general contractor worked with them on some specifics while they poured to make sure we got what we ordered. We then had to wait about a week for them to come back, take down the forms and pour the floor and create the stairs into the basement. They sent out a different crew to do this part of the job and the employees seemed a little older and more mature (they wore uniform shirts and were polite and professional). We are happy with the work they did and the cost was very reasonable compared to other contractors we had called. If we needed any other concrete work done, we would call them again

The owner Steve was great throughout the process. Met him at a Home Show in Spring 2015 and was one of the first contractors to provide a quote. After meeting with a few other contractors over the summer, Steve was one of the best on price and moved forward with the job in Fall 2015 that met my family's timeline. Overall the job went smoothly with minor hiccups. I was promised 2 days pending weather and the job was completed in 2 days. Steve wanted to make sure my wife and I liked the shape of the patio before pouring and we did make some last minute changes. With no questions asked, Steve made the changes and had his crew touch up on other areas before pouring like re-cutting a straighter line between the existing driveway and the new patio. The only negative is that my wife and I wanted a picture frame border with a broom finish on the patio. This was reiterated as they started pouring to ensure Steve and his crew knew exactly what we wanted and previously discussed. Unfortunately for us, we didn't get the picture frame finish as requested and discussed on multiple of times as Steve's crew completed the entire project with a broom finish. We are lucky that this finish matches what we already have for a driveway, but disappointing to not have what we wanted and thought we were getting. It's not the end of the world for us, but when you aren't going with a color or stamped concrete, we thought this finish would help with the aesthetics of the patio

ELITE STAMPED CONCRETE
4.0
COMPANY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ON STAMPED CONCRETE. ONLY PROBLEM WAS IN TEARING UP PART OF THE LAWN DUE TO VERY WET CONDITIONS. THEY USED A BOBCAT TRACTOR AND THEY HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT SLIPPING. THEY DID CALL AND SAID THAT IT WOULD TEAR UP LAWN FURTHER IF THEY CONTINUED. DECIDED TO HAVE THEM STOP THEN THEY SAID THEY COULD DO IT BY HAND AND WHEELBARROW. COST $200 MORE, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT NOT TO HAVE MAJOR RUTS IN LAWN. WERE VERY RESPONSIVE WHEN CALLED AND IN CALLING BACK

It went quite well. I was pleased that it was all done within one day. There was minimum damage to the surrounding yard, they repaired the fence that had to be taken down for access, and they cleaned up thoroughly afterward. Bruce, the owner, was on the scene the entire time and was extremely polite and professional in his communication with me

Brian came to our house to provide an estimate for concrete work. He answered all of our questions & promised to provide us with samples of the color combinations we were considering. He never called us back or returned 2 of my phone calls after that.

Cusatis Construction
1.0
I contracted with Cusatis Construction Company Inc. to pour a concrete driveway, approach,pour/stamp a decorative concrete patio, and remove and replace several concrete sidewalk slabs in March. The patio was poured and stamped on Monday 5/13/13 and the driveway, approach, and sidewalk slabs were poured on 5/14/13, both the driveway/approach and patio had a protective sealer applied by Cusatis Construction on 5/14/13. The driveway received tooled expansion joints. No joints were put in the stamped patio. Weather conditions during this time were partly cloudly and the weather temperatures were in the mid 60's (ideal for pouring concrete). Less than one month later in approximately mid June I noticed three large cracks in the stamped decorative patio. Two of the cracks originate from where the patio meets the stoop and a third crack runs the entire width of the patio. The cracks go all the way through the patio and are very bad looking and ruin the appearance of the patio. I asked Marcus Cusatis to stop out and look at the patio cracks which he did on Tuesday 7/2/13. The patio did not have any expansion joints in it because Marcus Cusatis said that decorative patios he poured did not use expansion joints. However, researching stamped concrete patio reveals that expansion joints are REQUIRED just as with conventional concrete patios. It appears that the cracks are running where the joints should have been placed. When I asked Marcus if this had been a conventional concrete patio would he have installed expansion joints he said yes. At this point I asked Marcus to remove the patio and re-pour/stamp it free of charge because I felt that work he did was defective (well poured concrete should not crack one month after being poured) and not done per industry standards. Marcus Cusatis stated he would not re-pour/stamp the patio free of charge as he did not think there was anything wrong with it and did not think he had done anything wrong. Now I am stuck with a patio with several large cracks in it ruining the appearance of the stamped concrete. In addition I also have to worry about the concrete cracks opening up wider and the possibility of the broken concrete slabs heaving in the winter. I would rate the quality of the driveway as average. Some of the tooled joints are sloppily done and there is an errant glob of concrete on one slab

VERY HONEST AND FORTHCOMING. DOES NOT FIX WHAT IS NOT BROKEN. HE AND HIS VERY GOOD HELPER, MOSES, WERE VERY RESPONSIBLE AND RESPECTFUL OF PROPERTY. NO DAMAGE WAS DONE WHILE IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOME. HE DEMANDS INTEGRITY FROM HIS WORKERS AND RETURNS IT.
Gabe has done numerous sealing and paving projects for me. I was referred to him years ago by a close friend. I contacted Gabe and he quickly returned my call and came out to estimate the project. He and his crew worked quickly and efficiently to remove and re-grade the driveway and turnaround. He also poured concrete sidewalks and apron. He took great care around my landscaping and compacted the gravel and prepared everything prior to paving and pouring. This was a little over a year ago and it has not cracked or settled due to proper preparations. I have used Gabe O Hern on this and other properties and will continue to refer him

Did a very good job overall. Would have been nice as an extra touch if they would have "landscaped" a bit under the concrete and timber edging (I will have to "stuff" dirt under some sections where the timber frame or concrete is "suspended" above the ground on some of the edges.

I think they used a really good looking concrete. They finished it very well. They were well organized. The owner was easy to deal with. He followed up with me to make sure I knew when everything was going to get done.
Marcus (the son) was great to work with and made excellent suggestions. Crew very professional and Marcus worked along side with them. Company has Marcus the father and Marcus the son.

Quality work, done on time for the price quoted. They were there when they said they would be for both the inspection & quote visit and the time of repair. The work was completed on time for the price quoted, there was no mess left behind, the guy who did the repair was courteous and professional. Since the repair was completed 3 months ago and we have had heavy rains, some snow and freezing temperatures, then warmer temps with thawing and no water leakage. Highly recommended and I would hire them again if needed
Jim had great ideas on how we could improve the drainage of water away from the house. He and his crew were extremely punctual, did the work exactly as described and kept the mess to a minimum. He was done in 4 work days, despite the cold spring in WI. We felt the price was excellent! We will definitely call Jim again if we need any concrete work
